Ulta sends gift with any purchase offers to select UltaMate members throughout the year. Large GWP bags have a dedicated article and are almost never targeted (outside of a group, like Platinum bags or affiliate bags). These gifts with purchase are targeted offers (offers sent to only select members). At any given time, there are anywhere from 0 to 4 available offers. It is certainly possible there are more than 4 at a time, but 4 is the most I’ve ever seen. They will almost never appear in the general GWP section or available offers section for select affiliates. In other words, the only way to take advantage of these offers is to receive them yourself or receive them from someone who received the offers. No one gets all offers, and people who do not get emails never get any. I want to share all the offers I am aware of here. If you receive any I do not, please let me know, and I can add them.

As a deal shopper, I like to scroll through the sale section at Ulta a little more than I probably should. Sometimes I come across amazing items in there that are definitely worth sharing. Instead of writing a new article every time I come across a great sale item, I am going to list those items here for 2018. These are the items I feel are worth mentioning. There are too many great deals to list them all so I suggest periodically checking it yourself. If I purchase anything I list, I will let you know and offer or link a mini review when I can. The date I noticed the item in the sale section is next to it, but it may have appeared sooner than that. If the sale is over by the time you happen upon the article, this at least tells you the item has a history of going on sale. A new sale could pop up in the future if you’re willing to wait on the item.
Buy More Save More offers have a dedicated article. If you’re looking for BOGO offers, 2018 offers are listed there. Hot Buys (deeply discounted items) have an article of their own. Most sale items stack with the 20% off prestige coupon. Many drugstore items stack with the general coupon.

Ulta releases so many beauty bags during the year that I split up the 2018 articles into General offers (those available to anyone), Diamond offers (those available to Diamond members, Platinum offers (those available to Platinum and Diamond members), Beauty Breaks, and Affiliate offers (those available to anyone who happens upon an affiliate post). There are also offers for individual gifts with any purchase. This article will cover the general offers. Others are linked above. These beauty bags are gifts with a minimum purchase. Although the shipping minimum goes off the final pre-tax total, the GWP minimum goes off the subtotal. That means if you find a coupon or discounted item that lowers the final total, it will also lower your GWP buy-in. Add the bag to your cart and it will show the purchase minimum as the cost for the bag.
The total for the bag will drop to zero once you have a qualifying purchase loaded into the cart so play around with it. If your cart should qualify but the total does not drop to zero, the offer expired. Ulta will give you the bag, but it will charge you the purchase minimum for the bag. This means a bag with a $60 purchase minimum will charge you $60 after the free offer expires no matter what other items are in your cart. Remember to remove the bag (for expired offers) before checking out or it will charge you. Any bag I redeem will include a link to the review next to the post. There are a number of brand specific gifts, but this only covers beauty bag offers that are available with any Ulta.com purchase.
I track all Ulta offers, and this article will cover all 5x Points offers for specific brands, products, and services for 2018. Some offers carried over from 2017, but I will only list offers that started in 2018. There are separate articles for 5x points on anything and 5x points for Diamond and Platinum members. As soon as I see specific 5x points offers, I will update this article in reverse chronological order. It could be a large post by the end of the year depending on how generous Ulta is. Most 5x points offers are targeted and must be activated. You can activate the offer directly from the email Ulta sends. Make sure your account says offer activated before making a purchase.
The Love Your Skin Event runs from 01/07/18 – 01/27/18. It features daily steals and promotions that run throughout the entire period. These 3-week long promotions are common for Ulta. Unlike The 21 Days of Beauty and the Gorgeous Hair Event (which are also 3-week long promotions), the Love Your Skin event only happens once a year. Every year, I hope they will offer this in July, but they have not done so yet. I have not given up hope that they will start offering this twice a year as they do with other major promotions. Although, winter skin does typically need more TLC, so I think January is the perfect month to host the event if it only happens once per year. An event schedule is available online.
Twice a year, the Liter Sale offers Jumbo Sized products of your favorite haircare brands at deep discounts. Even the Gorgeous Hair Event has limited deals on super-sized hair products. The winter event usually starts mid to late December, and the summer event usually starts early to mid July. It is typically a five-week period that offers the same deals throughout the event. Its format is different from other major events that have a new steal each day with only a few deals that run throughout the event. Popular products will sell out before their scheduled end date, so buy them early in the event. This event runs 12/25/17 through 01/27/18. There are some items that only run for select periods throughout the event. The promotion always runs with the Love Your Skin Event, and it does again this year. That event starts January 7th and runs through the 27th.
I track all Ulta offers, and this article will cover all Beauty Breaks for 2018. To see how many Beauty Breaks there are, I will number each one. Beauty Breaks are pop-up GWP offers. Most Beauty Breaks get released at 8am PST on Wednesdays. They usually run for 4-6 hours. Every time I see a Beauty Break, I will update this article. The better beauty breaks can disappear before I even wake up (West Coast) so please do not use this article as your only source of Beauty Break notification. If you have not already, subscribe to Ulta emails. Details on most Beauty Breaks get emailed.
Surprise Beauty Breaks (those typically offered outside the normal Wednesday schedule) are not always emailed. Most surprise Beauty Breaks happen on Monday mornings. Monday night is also a popular time for surprise breaks, but they can happen any day or time. The ones that are not emailed are only open to those lucky enough to stumble upon them. All surprise offers I’ve seen are below. My goal with tracking offers is to better predict trends, as many retailers including Ulta repeat offers around the same time each year. This means I can look at the 2018 offers to get an idea of when 2019 offers may arrive. At the very least, it can show me with certainty when a Beauty Break repeats.
Number of 2018 Beauty Breaks Offered outside of Wednesday Morning (updated as I see them)
Number of Wednesday Mornings without a Beauty Break (updated as I do not see them)
All Beauty Breaks for 2018 are in reverse chronological order. Add the Beauty Break to your cart along with a qualifying purchase, and the cost should drop to zero.
I track all Ulta offers, and this article will cover all Platinum Perk offers for 2018. Offers that are exclusive to Diamond members offers are tracked separately. As soon as I see them, I will update this article with new offers. It could be a large post by the end of the year depending on how generous Ulta is with Platinum Perk offers. These are special offers that are only available for Platinum and Diamond members to purchase. It is one of the many perks of being a Platinum or Diamond member with Ulta. My goal with tracking offers is to better predict trends, as many retailers including Ulta repeat offers around the same time each year. This means I can look at the 2018 offers to get an idea of when 2019 offers may arrive.
By having them all listed in one place, it is also easier to see a pattern (if there is one) and helps predict when the next 2018 offer is coming. Platinum Perks are available to all Platinum and Diamond members whether you received the email or not. This is not a targeted offer and will work for any Platinum or Diamond member signed into his/her account. If you are a Platinum or Diamond member who do not receive an email on this promotion, you are probably having issues receiving emails. Contact Ulta to reset your emails. I had to do that once, and my emails returned within a few days. Hopefully, you have the same quick turnaround I received.
A year ago today I decided to create a space where I could share: my thoughts, endless tips (if you’ve read my articles from start to finish, you know what I mean), and most importantly the deals we all strive for. There were ups and downs, and it almost ended as soon as it started. I learned that blogs are a lot of work, so you have to unplug completely during a tragedy. Through all the work I put into each article and page, I wondered if anyone would find it helpful. When I received a comment or email through contact, I learned that some people did find it helpful and others were happy to help me. Some have my passion for deal sharing, most share my passion for deal hunting, and all share my passion for beauty products.
Some of the best deals available all year come around this time. Are you ready to shop? I’m going to discuss popular offers available now or coming soon. Waiting for the right deal may extend your holiday shopping budget and can prevent you from sacrificing quality for quantity. These are recurring offers, so if you’ve happened upon them for a different year, the dates will be different.
See the 2019 20% off Prestige Coupon Offers.
Ulta releases 20% off prestige coupons to UltaMate members five times a year: late January, early April, Platinum members in late June 2016, early July for UltaMate, late July for Platinum members (this is the normal time but members who received them in June did not receive the July offer), late October, and Mid December. The July offer was reduced to 10% for non Platinum members in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, the early April offer was also reduced to 10% for non Platinum members. During this promotion, select UltaMate members receive a coupon for $15 off a $50 purchase if they have not shopped in a long time. Each unique coupon is eligible for one online purchase AND one in-store purchase. Coupons emailed have a different code than coupons mailed. If you receive a coupon from both methods, you will have two different online codes and two different in-store bar codes.
Prestige offers have a few exclusions, so these coupons are not 20% off everything as the ad that comes with coupon states. They exclude: Clinique, Lancome, Dermalogica, Dyson, Beauty Steals, and Benefit Brow Bar. Additional exclusions including fragrance and select new releases will be added at times. There are other times throughout the year to get offers for 20% off non-prestige or 20% off a single item, but those are general, multi-use codes. If you have more questions about this or any Ulta Coupon, I go over all types.

2016 Event- The Gorgeous Hair Event for Spring 2016 is May 8th-28th.
Now that the 21 Days of Beauty at Ulta wrapped, what can you look forward to at Ulta? The Love Your Hair Event is to hair what the 21 Days of Beauty is to makeup and skincare. Those new to Ulta may have noticed there were no amazing hair products included in the 21 Days of Beauty. That is because it gets an event all its own. Hair is big in Texas and twice a year at Ulta (May and October). Last year, it ran from October 5th-25th, so the dates will probably be similar this year. Most steals posted in the special section of the Ulta site, so be sure to study it to plan your purchases.
View detailed instructions on Earning and Redeeming Points at Ulta.
Ulta runs some great promotions during the year, but my favorite is 21 Days of Beauty. They do it twice a year (usually March and September). This year, the fall event ran from the 6th through the 26th of September. That means the event is officially over. The spring event is always better, so fret not if you missed the fall event. If you need any tips on how to make the most of the next event, I give them in this plan. Check all offers on the special event page.

My makeup obsession reached a point where my the two train cases I owned were not cutting it for active makeup. I have buckets for backup items, but I like to store active ones as neatly as possible. The solution was to get a new train case. Of course, one new train case barely cracked the surface, so I ordered a fourth one two days later. Now, I happily have one of just lippies, one of face products, one of eye products, and one of mixed products (which has some carryover eye products).
This article covers the original Best of Becca set. I also have a review for Radiant Glow and Blushed Radiance. All of these are 4-piece sets that arrived with a broken piece. The Becca minis in Sephora Favorites sets, like: Bronze Bares All and Paint It Pink arrive in tact, so the problem is how Becca wraps these sets. They are wonderful products, but they are not wrapped well enough for rough shipping and handling. Sephora wraps its favorites sets and does a much better job.
Becca entered the highlighter world with some strong game. The pictures always looked amazing. I got my hands on a sample and found out that the effects were legit and not clever photo editing. While researching which products I wanted to start exploring the brand with, I came across the Best of Becca kit at Ulta. Sadly, it was out of stock, so I decided to wait before purchasing anything. On 05/09/15, I got a Beauty Break offer that looked interesting.
See recent 10x points events.
Every year Platinum members at Ulta get a one day event where select items are available for 10x points. Yes, this combines with any other multipliers you may have. Read my Ulta page for the rules on combining multipliers (if you’re lucky enough to have more than one). This event is always at the end of August and has not included every item in the store since 2014. In 2015, only select items were included. It landed on Monday, August 24th. Ulta is on central time, so it officially started 08/23/15 at 10pm PST. The problem is the emails with the specific items included did not go out until the following morning. Those who got there at 10pm had to play with their carts a bit to see which items calculated at 10x points to beat the rush and avoid things selling out as we slept.
See the Ulta Birthday Gift Reviews 2020
There are so many retailers with fabulous birthday offers. Do not forget to check the birthday offers before your big day arrives. When I learn of a new offer or a change in offers, I update it. Even though I was not really shopping around my birthday, because life in general got in the way, there were a few Birthday gifts I had to pick up. The second one, from Ulta, was another completely free one. It can only be picked up in store.
I give my birthdate upon retailer request. On 03/01/15, offers started coming in. They continued to roll in throughout March with most of them arriving on my actual birthday, March 15th. Remember to save some of your birthday shopping budget for your actual birthday, because so many offers will not come in until then. For the retailers who send the offers after your birthday, they seriously need to step up their game. As I mention on the birthday offer page, some offers are general. Others are unique. If you try to redeem before you get your own unique code, it will not work. Also, check the main retailer page before placing your orders, because the birthday offers are not always the best available offers.
I love the Ulta Days of Beauty. Twice a year, usually starting in March and September, Ulta has a 21 day sale where select brands or items are deeply discounted for one day only. During the Spring 2014 sale, I went a little overboard buying things. Spring 2015 went better. It helped that the sale this year was not as impressive as last, but there were still some great deals. There are also 21 day Love Your Hair Events twice a year, which I will cover later. Check all offers on the special event page.
I highly recommend studying the brochure, which is posted online before the sale. UltaMate members should also get a physical copy in the mail. It is a good idea to plan your purchases ahead of time, so you are ready to strike the moment the deal releases. Ulta runs on Central time, so daily steals are available right at 10pm PST. That usually means steals from the previous day disappear at 10pm, so do not plan to place an order right before bed time if you’re on the West Coast. While the deals have run a little over, Ulta has also cut them off right on time. Some deals sell out quickly, so waiting may not work anyway. The best deals are usually gone when you wake up in the morning from people who started shopping right as the day switched over.
Every month, I review my empty products. If you missed this month’s empties, you can find them here. Some products are obviously miserable, and I do not want to think about them again. Others are so wonderful and seem like they’re made just for me. Those are FabuFinds, and I generally like to devote a little more time to discussing them. They are items I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase even at full price if I could not find a good promo code.
Of everything I used in February 2015, there were only three I consider FabuFinds. Two already exist in my stash, and the other one will once I’ve used the samples I own of it. Three is one less than last month, but finding products that are just right for you is a task. If you find even one a month, it makes your never-ending quest to find them worth it.
How do I get the best deal? This is a question I see often. Sometimes it is directed toward specific retailers. Other times it is more of a general probing. Let’s face it. Getting the best deal can be a lot of work. Have you ever been so proud of yourself for doing your research and locking down an incredible deal only to find out you did not get the best deal available? You are not alone. This has happened to me, too. We live and we learn from overpaying. Then, we get more savvy in the future. There are the tricks everyone knows. Subscribe to the retailer’s updates. Do Google searches for promo codes. Use Rakuten, ShopatHome, Mrrebates, or TopCashBack to get a percentage back on what you order. Of course, you can always visit sites like this one that try to list all known deals in one place. What are you missing though? Can you do anything else?

My hands are not the best, so I have a love/hate relationship with nail polish. On the one hand (sorry that I could not help the pun), unkempt hands get ignored. That way, no one notices them. At the same time, all hands look better with a nice manicure and a little polish. Yes, more people will notice them, but at least they will look as good as they can. So, I invite all of you on my journey to keep my rough, man-hands polished as much as possible. I’ve joined a nail polish challenge and plan to paint my nails at least once a week for the remainder of 2015.
Nail polish Saturday will be my new “thing.” I started collecting nail polish in May 2013. Prior to that, I only owned a couple of older bottles that I tossed when my new collection started. That means my current collection is all less than two years old with some being very near the two year mark and others that just arrived today. My newest haul from Julep just came in with two polishes and a plush pout. Of course, I will always swatch new items for you.
