Birchbox November 2016 Subscription Box Review

See recent Birchbox articles.

Birchbox gives at least 5 beauty samples each month for $10, which is half the cost of the Men’s Box. Boxes get customized to your beauty profile to a degree, but you cannot opt out of any type of sample. There is an option to select a sample (from a choice of 3-5 items) or the featured box where you know all 5-7 samples up front. Subscribers can review 5 samples for 10 points each once during the lifetime of the account. Unless you pay a year up front, you do not get any points for the cost of your subscription. That means there is no rewards program whatsoever for month-to-month plans after five reviews. With no rewards, the boxes have to speak for themselves in value. The samples will always go over $10 in value, but will the value you get from them equal $10!

Sephora Party Favors 8 Sample Filled Clutch

It’s that time of year at Sephora again. Time for sample filled bags. There are four bags to choose from containing seven samples in Canada or eight in the US. All Beauty Insiders can redeem a bag of samples. If you’re a VIB or higher, you can redeem two. On my main account (Rouge), I received the code VIBFAVORS to redeem a bag. My secondary account (Beauty Insider) received the code PARTYPICKS to redeem a bag.

February 2015 Empties

It’s the beginning of the month. That means it is time to review empties.  Okay, these empties are from February, but I will eventually get caught up and have more timely reviews.  This was actually a rough month for me, so looking over the items that got me through it is actually a little weirdly satisfying.  Have you tried any of these items?  What are your thoughts on them?

I will give you a mini review on each item. I’ll tell you the items I love and will repurchase. If I like or am indifferent to an item, I will not rush out to repurchase, but I would be willing to use or try it again. Lastly, I will present the items that are not for me. Generally, I will not use these any more in the future. If they’re really awful to me, I always hope I can find someone else who may actually like them. Thus, I will try to find someone to give duplicates to. For the items that I really love, I will do a separate product spotlight on them at some point to discuss them in more detail.
