Free 12-Piece Ulta Beauty Collection GWP Bag Review February 17th through March 16th, 2019

Today is the last day to grab the free 12-piece gift with a $19.50 purchase from the Ulta Beauty Collection. For those on the fence, I thought I would offer this last-minute review. Keep in mind several items from the Ulta Beauty Collection are getting discounts in the upcoming Spring 2019 21 Days of Beauty. This promotion ran from February 17th through March 16th. I went back and forth on whether I would even grab it, so I understand the hesitation. There are items I like from the Ulta Beauty Collection, but they almost always go on sale or have BOGO offers when there is not a beauty bag. That means I give up the chance to get a deal on items I want to try items I may not enjoy when I select the GWP bag. Sometimes I do. Other times I don’t. The deal shopper in me always needs to find balance between gifts with purchase and getting a discount instead. Although, getting a nice GWP is usually better than a discount if I find items I love in the GWP.

Ulta Beauty Collection Beauty Bag Offers 2019

Ulta releases so many beauty bags during the year that I split up the 2019 beauty bag articles into Ulta Beauty Collection Beauty Bags, General Beauty Bags (listed in the GWP section), Diamond Perk Beauty Bags (available to Diamond members), Platinum Perk Beauty Bags (available to Platinum and Diamond members), Beauty Breaks (4-6 hour offers), Friday Summer Treats, Skinfatuation Offers, and Affiliate Beauty Bags (available to anyone who happens upon an affiliate post). There are also targeted GWP Coupons (I receive on my account and share). Every time I see an offer for an Ulta Beauty collection Beauty bag in 2019, I will update this article.

Ulta Birthday Gift Review Ulta Beauty Collection Perfect Pair Eyeshadow Set January 2019

Free Ulta Beauty Birthday gifts are here! My 2019 Ulta birthday gift review on the Ulta Beauty Collection Perfect Pair Eyeshadow Set is ready, because I’ve tried it a few times. This was technically my son’s present, but he did not want eyeshadow. Ulta should really consider skincare options for non-makeup wearers. It is the third year of the past five where January birthday babies get presents from the Ulta Beauty Collection. I’ve reviewed the 2015 Quarter One Birthday Gift and the 2018 Quarter One Birthday Gift and was not overly impressed with either of those either. The 2015 present was just decluttered from collection. History repeats itself once again, because I find this gift left me wanting more. A new birthday gift is getting released every month in 2019. Here’s hoping you get one you like. See my February 2019 NYX Ulta birthday gift review and my March 2019 It Cosmetics Ulta birthday gift review.

Do You Need a Color Switch or Will a Dupe Work as a Dry Brush Cleaner? My Test and Review of Four, including a DIY Dollar Tree Project

If you are trying to decide whether you want to invest in a dry brush cleaner, Color Switch, or purchase a hair donut instead, I am here to help. Whether your brush collection is small or you have some brushes you love that you use for multiple colors, a dry brush cleaner can help. It is mostly commonly called a color switch, because the most popular one from Sephora and Vera Mona includes that in the title. Just like some will ask for a Kleenex when they want a tissue, some will ask for a color switch when they want a dry brush cleaner. They are also really helpful for people who swatch products using brushes. Let me know below if you want my reasoning for why brush swatching is usually wasteful and unnecessary. A color switch removes powder products from your brushes without any liquid. Yes, you can use a dry brush cleaner on cream products, but it will not remove as much product and will have you washing your dry brush cleaner more often.

See my January 2019 Ulta birthday gift review, my February 2019 Ulta birthday gift review, the Ulta 2019 birthday gifts article, and all 2019 Ulta Beauty Promotions, Deals, Coupons, GWP, Sales, and Events.

The 2018 Birthday Gift at Ulta Beauty changes every quarter. All gifts have been announced for 2018. This is the first year Ulta rolled out the announcements for all gifts this early. My birthday lands in the first quarter. If your birthday lands in the first quarter, happy birthday! Keep reading for a review on the gift. I know when I first saw the gift I was not sure if it was worth the trip to the store to pick it up. It would be really nice if we could redeem the standard gift with online orders, but they are only available in-store. Ulta Beauty does sell the items I received for my gift so feel free to read along if you are planning on purchasing any of them. Every Platinum and Diamond members gets a $10 coupon good toward any product. That means the review on the item I redeemed is almost guaranteed to vary from what you receive. If you did get the same item, you likely got it on the same day as I did and my review is of no value to you.

Review of the Free 14-Piece Gift Bag With a $19.50 Ulta Beauty Makeup, Brushes, Beauty tools, or Skincare Purchase

See all 2019 Ulta Beauty Promotions, Deals, Coupons, GWP, Sales, and Events.

There is a free Ulta Beauty Collection 14-Piece Gift With a $19.50 Ulta Beauty Makeup, Brushes, Beauty tools, or Skincare Purchase. I picked this up yesterday and wanted to review it while it is still available. It was set to expire on the 10th but got pushed back to the 17th. This has been available since February 18th. One of the things I like about exploring the Ulta brand is there is almost always a GWP or BOGO offer to sweeten the deal. Admittedly, I usually take advantage of the BOGO deals more than the GWP offers. I am still discovering the makeup products from this brand, but some of the bath and body products are nice. To try more makeup from this line, I think it is better to purchase the items I know I want for full-price and try items I am unsure about in a GWP. Buy 2, Get 2 free on the bath collection (excludes hand soaps) runs 03/11/18 through 03/17/18. For other offers, view the Buy More, Get More article.

Free Ulta Beauty Birthday Gifts: 2019 By Month and 2018 By Quarter

Ulta Beauty Birthday Gifts change each month in 2019. Every UltaMate Rewards member with purchase history gets 2-3 Ulta birthday presents based on level. Prior to 2015, there was one Ulta birthday gift all year. From 2015 through 2018, Ulta birthday gifts were batched by Quarter. A lot of retailers other than Ulta offer birthday gifts, so check my list before your big day. The official announcement for the first six Ulta Birthday gifts are out. With Ulta birthday gifts getting announced by birth month, it is highly unlikely many will get spoiled at once. I will spoil them as quickly as I can. If you have not joined the UltaMate Rewards Program, join before your birthday. See my 2019 Ulta birthday gift review for the Ulta Beauty Collection shadows, the Ulta birthday gift review for the NYX Liquid Lipstick, and the Ulta birthday gift review for It Cosmetics.

FabuFinds October 2016: Product Spotlight

Every month, I review my Empty Products. Some products are not worth thinking about once the month is over. Others are wonderful and seem like they’re made for me. Those are FabuFinds, and I generally devote a little more time to discussing them. They are items I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase even at full price if I could not find a good promo code. Items I am loving but cannot finish any time soon make it into Deal Discoveries.

To eventually spotlight all of my FabuFinds, I will never repeat items already mentioned in a past article. That does not mean they lost their magic. It is also possible an item not spotlighted in a past Empties article may get promoted as I try it more and fall deeper in love. Other times, it is because I had a lot of FabuFinds in a previous month and decided to condense the article. There are five products I consider FabuFinds in my October Empties that I have not discussed yet.

Monthly Manicure Reviews Featuring Nail Polishes: Smith & Cult Dark Like Me, Julep Katie, Joni, and Nicola

My nail polish collection is large, and thanks to my Julep Maven subscription, I keep adding to it. That means Julep polishes represent my biggest percentage, but I own a lot of brands. Once a month, I will share all of my monthly manicures listing the polishes I used, how many coats of each I used, and how long each lasted. This should give me an opportunity to use my polishes more often and actually review them. Since my polish collection keeps growing rapidly, I am not going to list them all in one place. Swatches and descriptions of every polish I own go into an article listing all polishes in the same color family. Typing the name of the polish you want to see in the search bar will pull up its respective article if I own it. If you have any requests on polishes I own that you want reviewed, please list them in the comments. As long as the polish you want reviewed is close to the color or finish I am looking for when I paint, I will consider it.

Julep Meet Your New Beauty Bestie Maven Meet-Up Exclusive In-Store Event at Ulta, Clearance and GWP Offers

See Targeted GWP Offers for 2018.

I love all things Ulta and all things Julep. When I received an email from Miriam at Julep stating she was going to Ulta on 10/08/16, I decided I wanted to check out the event. The Julep event I attended on 08/29/16 was a lot of fun. This event was in a store, instead of a restaurant, so I went in knowing it would be a different experience. According to the email, I’d get a chance to play with some Julep products, have a tutorial, and a GWP if I decided to buy anything. I responded to the email to see if she needed an official RSVP. Miriam said I did not need to RSVP as long as I came in between 12 and 6:30.

Monthly Manicure Reviews Featuring Nail Polishes: Deborah Lippmann Prelude to a Kiss, Julep Virgo, Ulta Pro Green and Wear It, AND a Call to #Putthenailinit

One in four women will be a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime. This story of Fernando is a reminder that men are victims, too. Someone I love very much is in an abusive relationship she is not ready to leave yet. I am sure there are other loved ones in past or present abusive relationships. My heart breaks for all victims, whether I know them or not. This is an epidemic that Safe Horizon wants to call attention to. Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Urban Decay Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Blush, Free 24 Piece Beauty Bag Platinum Perk, Another Best of Becca Set, and More With a 2000 Point Redemption

See Platinum GWP Bag Offers for 2018.

View detailed instructions on Earning and Redeeming Points at Ulta.

The Fall 21 Days of Beauty is in full swing. Read my overview for tips on the sale. Ulta offered a 24 piece Beauty Bag as a Platinum Perk with a $125 purchase. This is not a common offer during a major promotion, like the Days of Beauty. These monster bags are more common when Ulta actually needs to push us into an order. There is no expiration date listed on this offer, so it is available while supplies last. I had a few (dreaded full price) items I’ve been waiting to purchase. Since I wanted to get this bag, I decided to get them with some steals I was going to get anyway. It also helps that I redeemed 2000 points for a $125 credit, so I did not pay full price on anything.

Monthly Manicure Reviews Featuring Nail Polishes: Zoya Zuza, Ulta Baby Doll, and Julep Leo

My beautiful niece, who passed away on 02/18/15, would have been 10 today. Although it is nowhere near as substantial as anything she used to write, I dedicate this article to Sammy. I love and miss you more than I can ever express. If your Mom lived closer, I’d give her a great big hug today.

There are eight products I consider FabuFinds in my July Empties that I have not discussed yet. I may add three or four others in future months, because I considered adding them here. This was such a great month for product loves that in a slower month, I may have added them. If I continue loving them or grow to love them more in future months, I will add them later (as I am doing this month with the Gold Bond).

Monthly Manicure Reviews Featuring Nail Polishes: Rococo Flower Child Creme and Julep Kimberly

My nail polish collection is large, and thanks to my Julep Maven subscription, I keep adding to it. That means Julep polishes represent my biggest percentage, but I own a lot of brands. I started a nail polish challenge around the beginning of 2015 to put more of my polish to use. Sadly, my challenge got derailed when life got in the way. Halfway through this month, I decided to start regularly painting again. Instead of challenging myself to paint my nails at a specific time, I will just paint when I feel like it. Once a month, I will share all of my monthly manicures listing the polishes I used, how many coats of each I used, and how long each lasted. This should give me a great opportunity to use my polishes more often and actually review them. Since my polish collection keeps growing rapidly, I am not going to list them all in one place. See the 2019 20% off Prestige Coupon Offers.

Ulta releases 20% off prestige coupons to UltaMate members five times a year: late January, early April, Platinum members in late June 2016, early July for UltaMate, late July for Platinum members (this is the normal time but members who received them in June did not receive the July offer), late October, and Mid December. The July offer was reduced to 10% for non Platinum members in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, the early April offer was also reduced to 10% for non Platinum members. During this promotion, select UltaMate members receive a coupon for $15 off a $50 purchase if they have not shopped in a long time. Ulta NYX Beauty Break and Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette

A list of all recent Ulta Beauty Breaks.

Ulta typically releases a Beauty Break every Wednesday morning from 10am-2pm PST. A Beauty Break is a GWP that is only available for a very short period. There will be select Wednesdays where they do not release one and other times when they pop up at a different day or time, like Monday evening, Saturday morning, Sunday morning, and more. While Ulta does email (those who receive emails), these offers and others usually appear in the Gift With Purchase Section before emails go out. Emails stagger, so better Beauty Breaks may run out of inventory before some people receive their emails. People on the east cost have a better chance of scoring a Beauty Break thanks to the time difference. If you wake up and notice an incredible Beauty Break, do not sit on it. These Beauty Breaks never make it to the end of the timeline and weaker ones at times get extended past the deadline. This order was 3x points.

Everything You Need to Know About Ulta Coupons

Follow me while I cover everything you need to know about Ulta Beauty coupons, because I am here to help. This is my attempt to answer all your coupon questions (before you ask them), but let me know below if you have one I did not tackle. Ulta takes a lot of coupons, and I go over every type below. I track many coupon articles separately, including 20% off prestige coupons, targeted GWP coupons, dollar off coupons, percentage off coupons, and 2019 birthday gift coupons. General coupons (while I discuss the different types below) do not get tracked. You can find them on the Ulta website, my Ulta Deals page, or in your catalog. The online catalog rarely has coupons inside, so I am referring to the physical copy you receive in the mail. See Tips For Getting The Best Deal At Ulta for a deeper dive into UltaMate Rewards and how to maximize your deals.

Ulta Gorgeous Hair Event Haul and a Pureology Beauty Break

A list of all recent Ulta Beauty Breaks.

The Spring 2016 Gorgeous Hair event officially wrapped last night. Based on history, the fall event will likely start sometime around 10/02/16, but it could start October 9th. This event is to hair what the 21 Days of Beauty is to makeup and the Glowing Skin Event is to skincare. If your hair products can wait until then, it is probably worth waiting. While it will be months before the lineup gets announced, a lot of items will appear. Hair products around the middle of this sale had a 5x points offer. This order from 05/18/16 received 5x points on the hair products. There is a good chance a similar promotion will début with the fall event. Getting bonus points on steals is too good to pass up. Making plans before the event starts can help make the most of the deals. This order was 3x points.

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Steal Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush Peach Beach (At Last)!

The Fall 2016 Event

Today was the day I was most looking forward to in the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty. There are four steals happening today, and I wanted all of them. This is the first and last time I will probably purchase all four steals in one day. Of course, I was ready to go right at 10pm Pacific time (Ulta crosses each day over at midnight and runs on Central time). If you have not already laid out your purchase plans, I have all the steals for this event (gathered from multiple sources) laid out with some basic tips. I also go over a more detailed shopping plan from a previous event that applies to the different steals here.

Nail Polish Swatches Greens

My nail polish collection is large. Polishes kept in good condition (away from heat or light) can last a long time, longer than the two years many people quote. A good thinner (I use Seche Vite) can also revive them. I have tossed polishes when thinner cannot save them or they have obviously gone bad, but it is rare. When I started collecting polishes again, I tossed all polishes older than the summer of 2013. To avoid ordering duplicates, I created a spreadsheet. Swatching them with these spoons I purchased from Amazon will help me compare the colors, finishes, and overall quality. All polishes only have one coat, because I wanted to spot the difference between my sheer and opaque polishes. We’ve all seen polishes that look dark in the bottle only to need 3-4 coats for opaqueness. No polishes have base or top coats either, because that can change the way the polish looks.
