Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine Lip Set, A 2019 Spring Bonus Sale Recommendation

I want to offer my 2019 Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine Lip Set review, because the Sephora 2019 Spring Bonus Sale opens to VIB Rouge members today. This is something worthy of adding to your shopping list. It took me a while after its release to purchase it. Then, it took me a while to start testing the products. Now that I have tested all of them, I will have more entries for my lip balm article (which keeps getting pushed back as I acquire new products). Many of the Sephora Favorites sets have been misses lately, but this is a definite hit. If you are lucky enough to get one during the sale, grab it. Even if this somehow lasts through the sale and you are reading this, grab it.

FabFitFun Spring 2019 Editor’s Box Review and a Subscription Box Offer

My FabFitFun Spring Editor’s 2019 Box review is ready. Spoiler alert, I love it so much that I purchased two. FabFitFun released its 2019 Spring Editor’s Box in the Edit Sale (which starts tomorrow). This usually pops up in the shop after the Edit Sale wraps, so I appreciated the opportunity to buy it with the options I wanted without waiting for the Edit Sale to wrap first. I ordered mine today. The Spring 2019 FabFitFun Box is still available for purchase, so new members will likely start with that box. Existing members can purchase the Spring 2019 FabFitFun Editor’s Box, as I did, for $49.99 (each). These boxes arrived on the 11th, which was only 10 days after I ordered them.

tarte Icy Betch eye & cheek palette Review – The Blue Colors I Crave

My tarte Icy Betch eye & cheek palette review is ready. My feeling was tarte would release its Icy Betch palette on April Fool’s Day this year after the blunder last year when it made an April Fool’s joke teasing the stunning blue hues. Consumers, like myself, were extremely interested in the fake palette, so the joke was on tarte. Releasing it a year later than consumers wanted it may not pan out as well as tarte could have hoped. It will face competition from Jeffree Star’s Blue Blood that it could have avoided with a sooner release. Part of me feels the decision to launch the palette before April Fool’s Day (which would have been the perfect release date given last year’s debacle) was to grab some people on the fence with Mr. Star’s $52 palette. At $24, this is a lot more affordable making it an easier purchase decision for someone craving a blue palette.

Worst in Beauty 2018 – Bottom 10 Products

It’s time for the worst in Beauty for 2018. Few things suck worse than spending hard-earned money on an awful product. Whether low-end, mid-range, high-end, or luxury, any money spent is a bad deal when the product is terrible. I really could call this article the 10 Worst Beauty Deals of 2018. The more you spend the more disappointed you are when there is no return on your investment. It is also the reason we are more forgiving when drugstore products let us down but feel more disappointed when a high-end product is a bust. This is why high-end and luxury products make these lists more than drugstore items. Some are just not a fit, but others are universally bad. Okay, nothing is universally good or bad, but some products come close. Of all the products I tried this year, I selected my ten least favorite. I limited the list to products I tried for the first time this year. Deal shoppers do not always try things the moment they release, so these things did not all launch in 2018.

Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip Review 2018

See all 2019 Sephora Promotions, Sales, GWP, Deals, Promo Codes, and Events.

The Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip Kit was marked down to $47 on 11/21/18. I thought this was a great deal at $68, so I think it is a steal at the new price. After the somewhat disappointing Superstars Kit and the lackluster Superstars Everyday Must Haves Kit, my expectations for the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip were low. Thankfully, this exceeds my expectations, because I think this is a pretty good set. I have no problem paying the full $68 asking price, so I placed an online order today. In the past, I would have shied away from a set with so many non-traditional bullet lipsticks, but I am trying to broaden my horizons and try new things. At some point, I will write a comprehensive article on the liquid lipsticks I’ve tried and go over my results for which one is best for dry lips. Until then, I will keep exploring.

Sephora Favorites 2018 Superstars Kit Review

See the grab or pass on the Sephora Favorites Superstars Everyday Must Haves, and all 2019 Sephora Promotions, Sales, GWP, Deals, Promo Codes, and Events.

This 2018 Sephora Favorites Kit came back in stock temporarily (after I reviewed it), but it returned to its original $80 price tag. I went over the reasons I would not purchase the 2018 Sephora Favorites Superstars Kit at full-price in a grab or pass article. The main reason was the original price of $80 was too high for mostly samples that Sephora has given out many times. Of the $85.50 in full-size products, none of the items really grabbed my attention. I already owned two of them and the other two were things I would not usually purchase, especially at full-price. All of the samples already existed in my collection, and I did not need duplicates of any of them. My decision in that article was I would purchase the kit if it dipped to $40. At that price, I could justify grabbing the two items I did not already own and keeping some duplicates of the products I really love and would actually need. Days after posting that article, Sephora discounted the set to $40 in its Labor Day Sale. To make sure I could not pass this deal up, Sephora allowed me to use my Rouge discount code from the Beauty Insider Appreciation Event for an extra 20% off bringing the final sales price to $32.

Subscriber Giveaway

This giveaway has concluded. My winner, Kathleen, has already received her prize. To see what my winner received and/or take part in the next giveaway, please see that article

I have a brand new tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Highlight & Contour Palette that retails for $45. It came in my second, Summer FabFitFun Box. After purchasing my own when it went on sale in the Sephora Weekly Wow, I knew this duplicate was of no use to me. Don’t get me wrong! I love getting amazing products (even when they are duplicates) with my FabFitFun subscription, because I can pass them onto someone who will use them. It’s been a while since I hosted a giveaway, so I decided to give this away to one of my readers. Those in my personal life will keep reaping benefits as long as I hunt deals. My plan is to host giveaways more often, so my readers can benefit as well.

FabFitFun Mystery Bundles Revealed and Reviewed

My FabFitFun Mystery Bundles get reviewed in this article. Yes, all of them, so sit back, relax, and strap on your seatbelt. Even though I love poker, I am not much of a gambler. It is a shame I cannot bring myself to gamble, because I am a very good poker player. No, I am not joking, and no, I do not feel the need to act humble. Anyway, I do gamble with beauty products in the form of Subscription Boxes. Most subscription boxes are a gamble. I hand over my money and the subscription service gives me products it thinks I want. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t, and other times I am not sure what I want. You never know when you initially think you’ve received a dud only to discover a gem or vice versa. Since I gamble on subscription boxes, why shouldn’t I gamble on Mystery Bundles? It’s the same concept, right?

FabFitFun Spring 2018 Edit Sale Haul and Review

See all 2018 Edit Sale offers.

FabFitFun held its first ever Edit Sale from April 9th through April 15th. It was a subscriber only sale where FabFitFun sold items from past boxes, past add-ons, and new items for 25-70% off. Annual subscribers had first access starting on the 9th, and seasonal subscribers got to shop the sale starting on the 11th. This was held at the same time it usually runs the warehouse sale, but there was a change in format to go along with the change in name. In the past, the Warehouse sale was similar to the Capsule Sale. The major difference was the Warehouse Sale could have anything, but the Capsule Sale would only have items related to its specific theme. The New Year Sale, Valentine’s Sale, and Made in America Sale are examples of a Capsule Sale. Another difference is the Warehouse Sale happened once after each season and the Capsule Sale could pop-up any time. During a Capsule Sale or the old Warehouse Sale, you pay for items as you go, but you are free to place multiple orders throughout the event. All orders you place ship separately so each order is subject to the $25 free shipping minimum.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip 2018 Review

See the 2018 Give Me More Lip Review, and all 2019 Sephora Promotions, Sales, GWP, Deals, Promo Codes, and Events.

The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip Kit is out. I love when Sephora puts out a new Favorites Set. These sets retail for a lot less than the value of the items inside. As long as the items you plan on keeping exceed the value of the price you pay for the set, it is a good deal. This is one of my favorite ways to sample new items, and I like the sets even more when they have some full-sized items inside. While paying for samples is something I do often with subscription boxes, I limit how often I pay for samples in sets. The mystery of subscription boxes and desire to get things I would never purchase prevails in that case. When a set only has samples and costs over $20, I am less likely to purchase it. Paying for samples is not always a bad thing, especially when sets have items you really want to try, and you have not been able to get them for free or as a GWP.

FabFitFun Spring 2018 Editor’s Box Review

When the recent Edit Sale opened to seasonal subscribers on the 11th, I noticed FabFitFun was selling the Spring 2018 Editor’s Boxes. I had not even seen what was in them yet so I decided to take a look. It looked amazing, but ordering through the Edit Sale would have left it up to FabFitFun employees to pick four of my eight items. The other four are static so I have no choice. Three of the static four are products I received in the Winter 2017 and Spring 2018 boxes. Two of those were products I really would not mind duplicates of, and getting a duplicate of the third meant I could gift it to someone. I decided to see if it was available for separate purchase in the shop. Ordering outside of the Edit Sale allowed me to select all four of the choice items. That is better than the two I usually get to select as a seasonal subscriber. Items I purchased in the Edit Sale will get a separate haul article once the items arrive.

It meant the box would be even better suited to me, because every single option was an easy decision for me. There were clear winners in every category. The Editor’s Boxes are not included with your subscription, but they are available for the same $49.99 as a subscription box. This gives subscribers the option to buy the ones they like and skip the ones they don’t. There is an Editor’s Box for every season. Each Editor’s Box has items from past boxes so purchasing them is a great way for new members to catch up or established members to get duplicates of past items they loved. While I still think the Winter 2017 box was my favorite, I like the Editor’s Box with my choices a lot more than I liked the Spring 2018 box.

Three Options for the Sephora 2017 Birthday Gift From Caudalie, Tarte, and Jack Black

See the 2018 and 2019 birthday gifts.

The 2017 Sephora Birthday Gifts have officially been announced. Remember to check all birthday offers if your big day is approaching. People with birthdays late in the year can sometimes get the gift for the new year (if they choose). That is because gift redemption is a four-week period that includes the two weeks before your birthday and the two weeks after. You will usually see a pop up banner online or get an email notifying you when your gift is available. Click through either link, and you will be fruitful. Those picking up the gift in-store can give their email address or rewards card to verify eligibility. Make sure anyone picking this up on your behalf knows your email address. Only one birthday gift is available per year, so choose the one you like best.

Sephora Favorites Trending: Beauty’s Most Coveted Set Review

No one puts favorites sets together like Sephora. They are one of my favorite things to buy, because I love sampling a lot of items that I get an incredible deal on. There is always a $75 Favorites kit released before the holidays that I consider the blockbuster. This year, that set is the Sephora Favorites Beauty’s Most Coveted set. It was out-of-stock very early into the Employee Appreciation sale, but it did come back in stock before that sale ended. I gave away my extra codes, so I decided to wait for the VIB Rouge Sale. When the sale started, it was still out-of-stock, but it did come back a day into the sale. Shortly after picking it up, it went out-of-stock again. The more popular sets tend to go in and out-of-stock a lot during these sales, but Sephora usually re-stocks them a few times. Sephora could re-stock this before the VIB sale or at least afterward for those thinking of gifting this set for Christmas (or getting a Christmas gift for themselves).

Sephora VIB Rouge 20% Off Sale and In-Store Holiday Bag GWP

See recent articles on Sephora Sale items.

The Sephora VIB Rouge 20% off sale started today. I’ve covered the info needed to shop this sale. If any of you are considering a trip to the store for the free bag with any purchase, I can confirm it is the same thin bag offered since 2014. Sephora calls this a shopping bag, but it is thicker than the average shopper bag. However, it is much thinner than the average reusable shopping bag. This free bag has not been available online since 2014. It is prettier than the design from last year. Like the Sample Clutch and the Mystery Sample Bag, this bag has gemstones. Unless a trip to the store is convenient for you, the bag alone is probably not worth the trip. It rips easily, but I do like these bags to store my empties. They stand upright and rarely fall over. By picking one up this year, I will have another back-up when my current one inevitably rips.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip & Liner Review

See the 2018 Give Me More Lip Review

No one puts favorites sets together like Sephora. They are one of my favorite things to buy, because I love sampling a lot of items that I get an incredible deal on. This is the first year since I started shopping at Sephora that there is no Give Me More Lip Set. The large set lip lovers get this year is Give Me Some Lip & Liner. It has 14 lip products, so it is right on par with past sets (they usually have 15-16). There are four full-size products in the set and as usual the value of the full-size items exceeds the cost of the set. If you’re interested in the full-size items, this set is definitely a deal.

Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit 2016 Review

The Sun Safety Kit for 2016 is available now. No one puts Favorites Kits together the way Sephora does. This review goes over the 2016 Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit I purchased at the VIB Rouge Event on 06/05/16. It is my favorite set of the year, because I love sunscreen. I love that Sephora donates $20 of the $32 price tag to the Skin Cancer Foundation. My Dad has skin cancer, so I appreciate a cause that furthers cancer research and helps protect me from the sun at the same time. There are 15 deluxe sun protection items in the set making each item a bargain at $2.13.  Continue reading

Sephora Favorites Paint It Pink Product Review

Paint In Pink retails for $40 and has a $122 advertised value. I have a hard time resisting a Sephora Favorites. No one puts kits together the way Sephora does. Although it only has eight items (making each one $5 each), three of them are full-size. The cost of the full-sized products alone more than pays for this set. Usually, I would present the entire purchase in one article to go over the entire deal. This set stands alone by itself, and the items I got with this also stand alone. Thus, I will present the second half of the order tomorrow.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Nude Lip

See the 2018 Give Me More Lip Review

I have a really hard time passing on a Sephora favorites. When Give Me Some Nude Lip launched, I thought I would pass. Nudes are not really my thing. When I wear lip color, I generally want them bold. My bolder eye looks do pair better with nudes, so I keep some on hand. Lippies are a serious weakness. This is my third mini set. Although I missed the 2015 set, I did partake in 2013 and 2014. In 2014 and 2015, I also purchased the Give Me More Lip sets (which are a lot larger). You could quickly build your lip collection just by investing in these kits. This set has gone in and out of stock online. If it is out of stock again when you check, call your local stores to see if they have any. They can hold it for 24 hours if they do.

Sephora Cyber Weekend Mystery Sample Bag (Surprise Bag) SURPRIS3

Who does not love mystery samples! Okay, I know some people do not or more people would have Subscription Boxes. I have a love/hate relationship with mystery samples. Sometimes I find gems I never would have picked if I got to choose. Other times, I get the leftovers no one wanted. After passing on the last Sephora Cyber Weekend Mystery Sample Bag, I decided to partake this year. The bags will be available until stock inventory runs out, but they are available now using promo code SURPRIS3 with a $25 purchase.

Sephora VIB Rouge Qualification Gift, My Black Friday Haul, and the MIXITUP Promo Bags

I tried not to re-qualify for Sephora VIB Rouge until the end of the year, but I got really close. After getting there on July 12th last year, I’d say November 26th is a huge improvement. Fingers crossed for December 31st next year. During the VIB Rouge sale, I purposely stopped short of qualifying thinking I would make one last purchase when we get our $25 off $50 gift cards. The Black Friday deals were a lot better to me this year than last, so I was not able to pass them up. There were two that instantly caught my eye, which I mentioned in my Black Friday Deals article.

Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip 2015

See the 2018 Give Me More Lip Review

When it comes to favorite sets, no one puts them together like Sephora. The Give Me More Lip Kit usually releases every year in mid September, but it released a little later this year. I have a really hard time passing on favorites that are makeup and skin care related causing me to buy more than I should. My favorite kit each year has is the Sun Safety or the Give Me More Lip. The smaller Give Me Some Lip Kit looked nice as well, but I sat on buying it for too long and missed out. It was cuter than the one I got in 2013 and 2014, so I regret my decision to wait until I had more used than unused lipsticks to buy it.

Sephora Favorites Bronze Bares All

When it comes to favorites sets, no one puts them together like Sephora. I have a really hard time passing on favorites that are makeup and skin care related causing me to buy more than I should. The Sephora Favorites Kits have been hit or miss lately. Most products in sets are great even if they are repeats from earlier favorites, but I still cannot wrap my head around the $45 I paid for last year’s Summer Stash for a kit containing nothing but deluxe sizes. It is one I should have passed on.

I purchased Summer Stash on 04/19/14. As recently as June of 2015, they were still trying to move them for $30, which is 33.3% off. That should have told Sephora they priced it too high. As if I did not learn my lesson on the early summer release, I also purchased the Sephora Favorites Summer Crushes kit on 07/12/14 for $45. While the sizes were bigger, it was still a kit of deluxe sizes. To add insult to injury, the price went down online the day after I bought it. While some convinced me that I could get the price matched, I did not even bother trying.
