I want to offer my 2019 Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine Lip Set review, because the Sephora 2019 Spring Bonus Sale opens to VIB Rouge members today. This is something worthy of adding to your shopping list. It took me a while after its release to purchase it. Then, it took me a while to start testing the products. Now that I have tested all of them, I will have more entries for my lip balm article (which keeps getting pushed back as I acquire new products). Many of the Sephora Favorites sets have been misses lately, but this is a definite hit. If you are lucky enough to get one during the sale, grab it. Even if this somehow lasts through the sale and you are reading this, grab it.
My Sephora Jo Malone birthday gift review is ready. This is one of the two VIB and Rouge exclusives for the 2019 Sephora Birthday gifts, and the gift was not introduced until Quarter Two. It is online only, so you will need to place an order to redeem this. The Jo Malone gift replaced the Milk Makeup Gift from Quarter One. Since this gift was not even available during my birth month, I was unable to redeem it. I’m bringing you a review on the product today, because I already own it and want to go over my thoughts for those considering it. Everyone with a Beauty Insider account gets a birthday gift offer, so sign up if you have not already. There is no purchase required to pick up a gift in store, but you must make a purchase to redeem it online. Stop by my Birthday Beauty Deals page (if you have a birthday coming soon), because other retailers have offers as well. See my 2019 Sephora Birthday Gift review for Drunk Elephant, Kat Von D, and Milk Makeup.
My Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit 2019 review is ready. I waited until the first day of the Sephora Spring Sale to purchase it. Sephora usually tempts me when it puts out a new Favorites Set. These sets retail for a lot less than the value of the items inside. As long as the items you plan on keeping exceed the value of the price you pay for the set, it is a good deal. This is one of my favorite ways to sample new items, and I like the sets even more when they have some full-sized items inside. While paying for samples is something I do often with subscription boxes, I limit how often I pay for samples in sets.
The mystery of subscription boxes and desire to get things I would never purchase prevails in that case. When a set only has samples and costs over $20, I am less likely to purchase it. Paying for samples is not always a bad thing, especially when sets have items you really want to try, and you have not been able to get them for free or as a GWP.
My tarte Icy Betch eye & cheek palette review is ready. My feeling was tarte would release its Icy Betch palette on April Fool’s Day this year after the blunder last year when it made an April Fool’s joke teasing the stunning blue hues. Consumers, like myself, were extremely interested in the fake palette, so the joke was on tarte. Releasing it a year later than consumers wanted it may not pan out as well as tarte could have hoped. It will face competition from Jeffree Star’s Blue Blood that it could have avoided with a sooner release. Part of me feels the decision to launch the palette before April Fool’s Day (which would have been the perfect release date given last year’s debacle) was to grab some people on the fence with Mr. Star’s $52 palette. At $24, this is a lot more affordable making it an easier purchase decision for someone craving a blue palette.
The Sephora versus Ulta comparison pops up all the time, and people always ask me which one is better. A true beauty product lover can tell you that is a loaded question. There are pros and cons to everything, because nothing is all good or all evil. They have a lot in common, but they have a lot of differences as well. While I understand some shoppers feel an affinity toward their favorite stores and try to reward those stores with their loyalty, my mindset is different. Odds are yours is as well. How do I know you are not blindly loyal to a specific store? If you were, you would probably not finish reading this. You’d already know which store you prefer. Besides, many of you are likely deal shoppers. Deal shoppers, like myself, are loyal to the deal, not a store. If they can get $10 off a product somewhere else, they will.
The 2019 Sephora Spring Bonus Sale is here. Beauty Insider members get 10% off, VIB members get 15% off, and Rouge members get 20% off. Scroll down for the dates and important details for the Sephora 2019 Spring VIB sale. It is open to every tier even though most people call it the VIB sale. Once again, Sephora is calling the discount event the 2019 Sephora Spring Bonus. This is the first time since 2013 that Sephora Spring Sale separated all discounts based on Beauty Insider reward level. Since the launch of the Rouge program, the Sephora Spring discount event always offered VIB and Rouge members the same 15% off discount. Rouge members get 20% off for the first time in the 2019 Sephora Spring Sale.
My Sephora Milk Makeup birthday gift review is ready. This is one of the two VIB and Rouge exclusives for the 2019 Sephora Birthday gifts. It is online only, so you will need to place an order to redeem this. I redeemed this on my account, so this is my official birthday present. See my 2019 Sephora Birthday Gift review for Drunk Elephant, Kat Von D, and Jo Malone.
My Sephora Kat Von D birthday gift review is ready. Of all the 2019 Sephora Birthday gifts, the Kat Von D gift is certainly the most controversial. I’ve been a fan of hers for some time and own a lot of products from her line. While I disagree with her immunization stance, I have not boycotted her brand. Since I redeemed the Milk Makeup gift for my birthday present (article coming), I created a Sephora account for my youngest son to bring you this Sephora Kat Von D birthday gift review. The Daily Wow! is back in 2019 while the Weekly Wow! takes a short hiatus. Sephora launched the Daily Wow just before Thanksgiving in 2018, but this is the first time it appeared in 2019. Every time it pops up in 2019, I will update this article. I will also make note in the Weekly Wow article if a Daily Wow event is the reason that promotion halts. A Daily Wow presents a new deal each day throughout the promotion instead of new deals each week. Make sure you purchase the item you want before midnight pacific time on the day the product is on sale. More often than not, the Weekly Wow! will return once the Daily Wow wraps.
Sephora is offering a free Fenty Beauty Mini Makeover from February 12th through March 20th. Finding a perfect foundation shade to match your skin is always difficult. With 50 shades in its line, Fenty Beauty is likely to have a shade match for almost very skin tone. Getting help matching your shade from a Sephora employee will give you a second opinion on the shade you try on. This event is perfect for those who’ve considered trying out this foundation but have not yet purchased it. I am actually one of those holdouts. Since this a free makeover with no purchase required, I recommend asking for samples of the two or three shades that are closest to your skin tone to take home. That way, you can place your order after wearing each color for a full day to see how the formula wears, does the formula oxidize, and how the formula performs.
The 2019 Sephora Favorites Luxury Kit has me once again wondering what is going on with the pricing on the Sephora Favorites sets. After years of solid Sephora Favorites sets at great prices, they were hit or miss in 2018. Some were outstanding, like the Sun Safety Kit, the Give Me More Lip Kit, and the Holy Sheet! Others were awful, like the Sephora Favorites Superstars 2018, the Sephora Favorites Superstars Everyday Must Haves, and Beauty Vault: 12 Days of Makeup. Most landed somewhere between. Then, I saw the Sephora Favorites Set, Luxury Kit, and it convinced me that this is the worst one I’ve seen in a long time. Yes, the items are luxe, but they are samples. Most companies give samples to promote products. Assuming Sephora received these samples for free or very low-cost from the brands, this looks like a cash grab.
The 2019 Sephora Birthday gifts have left some Beauty Insider members feeling less than thrilled. I’ve tested the Drunk Elephant products in the boxed birthday set and am ready to offer my review. Why did I start with Drunk Elephant? Of all four gifts available this year, I was most interested in this one. It also has the highest value. See my Sephora 2019 Birthday Gifts article for an overview of all items and all values. Everyone with a Beauty Insider account gets a birthday gift offer, so sign up if you have not already. There is no purchase required to pick up a gift in store, but you must make a purchase to redeem it online. I was able to trade products with a friend who has a January birthday to bring you this review. See my 2019 Sephora Birthday Gift Reviews for Kat Von D, Milk Makeup, and Jo Malone.
Every time I come across great beauty deals worth mentioning in 2019, I will add it to this article. This is where I want to share details on a deal that is not advertised with a specific sale or event. I will mention the place where I saw the best deal, but it might be available at other places. If I know the answer to the following questions, I will always answer them below. Where did I see the deal? What is the deal? When did I see the deal? How long is the deal for (if mentioned)? Is there a reason for the deal (if mentioned)? Have I purchased this deal? If I purchased it in the past, I will provide a mini review.
Every time I see a sample bag for Sephora in 2019, I add it below. Most sample bags repeat around the same time each year, so looking at the previous year is the best way to track them. Whenever a sample bag corresponds with a specific event, I will also link the corresponding article below. There are times when the sample bag depends on your Beauty Insider Status. I track Beauty Insider, VIB, and Rouge promotions separately, but I will make a note of any that are exclusive to a rewards tier. Unless otherwise specified, all Beauty Insiders get the same offer.
Every time I see Sephora point multipliers in 2019, I add it to this article. Most point multipliers repeat around the same time each year, so looking at the previous year is the best way to track them. Whenever a multiplier corresponds with a specific event, I will also link the corresponding article below. There are times when your multiplier depends on your Beauty Insider Status. I track Beauty Insider, VIB, and Rouge promotions separately, but I will make a note of any that are exclusive to a rewards tier. Unless otherwise specified, all Beauty Insiders get the same offer.
Sephora offers special promotions to members of its rewards program, and this article covers the promo codes, promotions, and offers for Beauty Insider members. Anyone on the program who spends $0 to $349 is a Beauty Insider. There are so many promotions for this rewards level, but I wanted a place to go over the best ones. These are only the ones I find worth mentioning, so subscribe to Sephora emails to see all of them. I only list the promotion in the lowest tier that qualifies to prevent redundancy (and see the real difference between the tiers). Any Beauty Insider can redeem these offers, but I also track VIB and Rouge offers. My goal is to track all promotions, not just the ones that get advertised. By the end of the year, we can look back and see what we get for joining.
Sephora VIB Rouge members spend at least $1000 a year to maintain their status, and what exclusive promotions and promo codes will this reward level give in 2019? Anytime I see a 2019 Sephora VIB Rouge exclusive promotion, I will add it to this article. My goal is to track all promotions, not just the ones that get advertised. By the end of the year, we can look back and see what the top-tier offered us. You can view the 2018 article to see what we received last year and compare it to this year to see the changes. I only list the promotion in the lowest tier that qualifies to prevent redundancy (and see the real difference between the tiers). Promotions Beauty Insider members have access to only get listed in that article, and promotions VIB members have access to only get listed in that article.
Sephora VIB members spend at least $350 a year to maintain their status, and what exclusive promotions and promo codes will this reward level give in 2019? Anytime I see a VIB exclusive promotion in 2019, I will add it to this article. VIB exclusive promotions are available to all VIB and VIB Rouge members. If there is a rare VIB offer Rouge members get excluded from, I will list that below. My goal is to track all promotions available, not just the advertised ones. Offers are only listed in the article where all members at that level can redeem them. This helps us distinguish the offers between the tiers and prevents redundancy. It also means there are offers in the Beauty Insider promotions article not listed here that VIB members can redeem. If you are a Sephora VIB Rouge member reading this article, there are offers in the VIB Rouge article that are only available to Rouge members.
I go over larger Point Perks in my 2019 Rewards Bazaar article. This article will cover all the smaller point perks Sephora emails. A lot of people will tell you to save your points to redeem for something large. While I would never discourage you from doing that, as there is more value in the larger perks, I think you should grab the smaller ones you want. There are times when items I’ve considered purchasing in full-size pop up as 100-point perks. If I can spend 100-points to try it before I buy it, that is more valuable to me (given that I do not return things and some of the things I buy are not the best). It will take you longer to redeem a larger perk this way, but if you limit small perk redemptions to only items you’ve considered purchasing, you could save money in the long-run.
New Point Perks release in the Rewards Bazaar every Tuesday and Thursday from 9am-5pm PST. The most common release is right at 9am, so arriving at 9am on a drop date will yield the best chance of grabbing your desired perk. Sephora emails a list of upcoming perks for some of the bigger items arriving in the Rewards Bazaar within that month. It always sends at least one email a month, but they usually arrive near the 5th and the 20th on months where it sends two. This article will cover the perks Sephora chooses to spotlight in those emails. While I may at times find ones Sephora did not email and post them below, I do not do that often. That means this is not a complete listing of all offers.
The Weekly Wow! returns in 2019 with new offers most Thursdays. In its first full year (2018), we saw the Weekly Wow! pop up 45 times. Why does it not take place every week? Whenever there is a blanket discount on most products (or sale products with the Sale on Sale) that applies to all rewards tiers, the Weekly Wow! takes a short hiatus. It also takes a break at times when we get the Daily Wow! in its place. What is the Weekly Wow? It is a special section of the Sephora website with week-long deals that get discounted up to 50% off. These deals are different from others in the sale section, because they return to full price once the week passes (most of the time). At times, an item might appear in the Weekly Wow for more than one week or go on permanent sale after appearing, but that both cases are rare. Weekly Wow! deals drop on Thursday and run through the following Wednesday.
The 2019 Sephora VIB Qualification gifts have been officially announced. For 2019, this welcome gift is referred to as the Sephora VIB Tier Celebration Gift. See the Rouge gifts, which were also announced. This is a major change from 2018, because the usual gifts are all noticeably absent. There was a welcome kit in the past, but the 2019 welcome gifts are intangible (other than the certificate options). Each member can select the option s/he likes best. These changes will officially launch on January 16th. Members of each tier who qualify can redeem the gift of his/her choice on the 16th this year and starting on the 1st in each year that follows.

There is a new promo code starting on Christmas Eve where Beauty Insider Members can receive more deluxe samples with higher purchases. This is the Spend More, Get More promotion. I’ve included these offers with the standout Beauty Insider Promotions all year, but I decided to start a separate article to track these. Every time I see one of these offers through 2019, I will update this. 2018 is almost over, so it did not make sense to end it there. A lot of people wish Sephora would let them select one promo code per $25 spent and these offers are usually more fruitful than that. Too bad they only pop up occasionally and for a limited time. Having an idea of when these might come up can help those who hate using a promo code with a $25 minimum purchase on a $75 order and cannot wait until the next discount comes out. Trust me, I am right there with you. The free sample with the $25 purchase offers rarely appeal to me, so I barely ever redeem any of them.
The 2019 Sephora Birthday Gifts are out, and they’ve caused quite a stir. Sephora birthday gifts for 2019 have up to four options depending on your Beauty Insider Rewards level. These Sephora birthday gifts come from Drunk Elephant, Kat Von D, Jo Malone, Milk Makeup, and IGK. A lot of retailers other than Sephora offer birthday gifts, so check my list before your big day. There are two Sephora birthday gift 2019 options any Beauty Insider member can redeem.
The online only option(s) for this year is for Rouge and VIB members only. It started as a Milk Makeup Gift but switched to Jo Malone in Quarter Two. Before quarter two even wrapped, it switched again to IGK. Sephora is also starting the year with the option for Rouge and VIB members to get 250-points in place of a gift. That option was not added until August of 2018. A lot of retailers offer birthday gifts, so check my list before your big day. I reviewed the Bumble and bumble, Bite Beauty, and Glamglow birthday gifts from 2018. See my 2019 Sephora Birthday Gift review for Drunk Elephant, Kat Von D, Milk Makeup, and Jo Malone.
See the 2019 birthday gifts, and all 2019 Sephora Promotions, Sales, GWP, Deals, Promo Codes, and Events. My 2019 Sephora Birthday Gift Reviews for Drunk Elephant and Kat Von D are up.
The last Sephora Birthday gift I am reviewing for 2018 is the one from Bumble and bumble. I redeemed the Bite Beauty gift from Sephora for my birthday this year, and I arranged a trade with a friend to get the Glamglow gift. Both of those gifts got reviewed separately (click the links to read them). That only left one of the three gifts Sephora offered for this year for me to review. An option to redeem 250-points in place of the gift popped up later in the year. My plan was to redeem the Bumble and bumble gift when my son got his Sephora birthday offer. Yes, I was planning on stealing my son’s Sephora gift, but it’s not like I would not have given him something in exchange for it. Well, his birthday just passed. When I logged in to place an order on his account for the Bumble and bumble gift, it was gone.
I track all Sephora offers, so this is more than just a 2019 Sephora sale calendar. It is the master calendar for all 2019 Sephora Sales, Promotions, GWP, Deals, Promo Codes, and Events. By tracking all offers, I can predict sale dates and other events for the future. Consider it a starting point for budget planning or an idea of what to expect and when. To keep this as concise as possible, this timeline serves more as a guide map. Whenever I write a separate article to delve into more detail on the event or promotion, I will link it below. If a separate article does not exist, I will list the pertinent information in this one.
This Sephora sale calendar will only include major promotions, except links to any I spotlight, like regular Beauty Insider promo codes, Rewards Bazaar Perks, sale items, etc. Anything I find worth mentioning is below. The main thing people look for on the calendar are the 2019 Sephora Sale dates, so they can see when they can get 20% off, 15% off, or 10% off. This timeline shows that you do not always have to wait for a traditional sale to get a good deal. See Tips For Getting The Best Deal At Sephora for a deeper dive into Beauty Insider Rewards Program and how to maximize your deals.
The latest Rouge Treatment For Two Event got announced today. Rouge members can attend an open-door event next weekend with a guest. This event is taking place at your local Sephora all day on Friday, December 14th and Saturday, December 15th. Members and their guest will receive mini makeovers in the beauty studio. No appointments are available during this event, so makeovers are on a first come, first served basis. From experience, I know you can skip the makeover if it does not interest you or if the wait is too long. There is no mention in the fine print of whether your non-Rouge guest will get the scarf if s/he also spends $75. I’ve been to events where the guest gets the gift and others where the guest does not. In recent years, the guest usually gets it though. While I wish the fine print would have made it clear, staff denied my sister the gift once when the fine print looked like she would get it. Here’s hoping anyone who attends with a Rouge member gets this gift.
See all 2019 Sephora Promotions, Sales, GWP, Deals, Promo Codes, and Events. A lot of new sale items dropped into the extra 20% off Sale Items on 12/12/18. This includes the Beauty Vault: 12 Days of Makeup, which I did a Grab or Pass on. Expect to see new items hit the sale section every Wednesday and Friday throughout December!
Every year, Sephora hosts an event where we get 20% extra off Sale items. To access the Sale on Sale, we shop from the normal Sale Section and use a promo code for the extra 20% off. That code will work through during the event as many times as the customer wishes to shop. The event always runs through New Year’s Day, but the starting date varies slightly from year to year. Rouge customers usually get advance access to the sale, and that is happening again this year. This year boasts the earliest start date that I can recall from recent years for both Rouge members and Beauty Insiders.
Every year, Sephora has a holiday countdown featuring an assortment of surprise minis. It is called the 16 Days of Deals this year. Prior to 2018, this countdown event included 25 days of minis. It has adjusted to 16 days for this year. While it is too soon to say if we will see 16 again next year or return to 25, I am guessing we will see the event in one form or another in 2019.
This promotion is akin to an advent calendar where Sephora releases a new deluxe sample for the promotion everyday. Beauty Insider members can use the promo code to select the mini they want the most. It will start with one mini on December 5th and end with the 16th mini on the 20th. Minis are available the day they release and while supplies last. More popular minis will run out-of-stock quickly, but there is always a handful of options left by Christmas Day when the final mini of this promotion releases. Expect some minis to stay in stock until after the new year, because the promo code will work until all inventory is gone. Each mini is available with a $25 purchase. There are some people who know how to look into Sephora’s system to see what is coming in advance. I do not know how to do that, so I will only post the minis after Sephora shares them. This article is for tracking, not spoiling promotions. That said, I will make some guesses based on the clues and remove my guesses as the actual items get announced.
