Summer is officially here, so it is time to go over my favorites from the 2019 spring season. I like to call these my core collection items, because I find myself reaching for them over similar products in my stockpiles. These are items I am still working on, so they will not make the Empties article for this season. Each is still worthy of discussion, so this is the place I like to do that. Items I am still in love with once I empty them become FabuFinds. While I cannot promise I will ever finish these (some products expire before I can empty them) and I cannot promise I will still love them enough to label them as FabuFinds upon completion, I loved them throughout this season. Many of these items are serious contenders for my Best of the Year article. There were seven items I really enjoyed this spring.
My Spring 2019 FabFitFun subscription box review is ready! FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription that puts out one box per season. Boxes have over $200 in value. The items are always full-sized and include products from: beauty, wellness, fashion, and fitness lines. Subscribers can either pay $179.99 for an annual subscription ($20 off when buying 4 boxes up front) or $49.99 for a Seasonal subscription. Shipping is free, but sales tax gets charged (in certain states). There is usually a code to receive $10 off your first seasonal box. Those codes are fffa2p6 and FAB10. Members can select add-ons at deeply discounted prices to include with their boxes. All subscribers get to customize some choice options, but Annual Subscribers (select members) get extra choices.
My favorite shopping event of the year is finally here. This weekend, which kicks before Thanksgiving with some retailers, provides some of the best deals we will see. Traditionally, this is the weekend where most retailers cross over from red to black, and they will do whatever it takes to earn your shopping dollars. Offers are competitive, because almost every retailer will have one. I will update this every time I see an incredible offer through Cyber Monday, so this list will grow over the week. My tastes might vary from yours, so make sure you sign up for emails from all of your favorite retailers. It is also a good idea to check multiple blogs and sites to see what each of them feel is worth mentioning this season. Most of these offers go out to all customers. Of course, there might be some affiliate exclusives or offers targeted to select customers. I am not listing any small offers, because this is the time of year when we can stretch our budget further by scoring just the right deal. Some big offers will not make the cut either, because I cannot list them all.
Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894 when Grover Cleveland (some dispute giving him credit) declared we needed an annual celebration of workers and their achievements. This was during the height of the Industrial Revolution, so employees were really making an impact on the economy. It was not uncommon for workers to endure 12 hour shifts, seven days a week. No one was immune, not even children. Since weekends did not exist for these workers, Labor Day was a welcome and extremely brief reprieve for our ancestors who brought us into a new millennium. Though must of us do not have the work ethic of our forefathers, and thank goodness for that because there is more to life than earning money, Labor Day is still an important part of our society.
There are so many products I fall in love with but will take a while to finish. Instead of waiting until I can mention them in a FabuFinds article or waiting to see if they make the Top 10 of the Year, I want to go over items from my Core Collection. These are items I consider great deals (even at full-price, although I will still try to get them with a deal). If I ever finish them, I will probably replace ones that do not already have back-ups. Sometimes, they are items I’ve had for a while and just tried or items I tried in the past but love more upon rediscovery. Occasionally, I purchase items I love that do not fit into an article other than this one. When I try something from a recent acquisition where I wrote an article, I will always edit a mini review into the original article (love, hate, or anything in between) or mention it in an Empties article (if I finish it quickly). A single product review in the original article will not always depict how much I love it compared with other items I tried that month. This lists my Deal Discoveries from July 2016 that I am not even close to finishing.
I received Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant in a BzzAgent campaign and quickly fell in love. They actually sent me a full-sized four-ounce version, and five 1oz samples to hand out to other beauty lovers. A part of me wanted to keep all six, because I loved this product so much. By keeping all of them, I would not need to purchase for a while. The rational part of me knew I accepted the product and agreed to hand out the samples, so I had to fulfill my part of the deal. All five samples went in my traveling beauty box, and they were all accepted by fellow beauty lovers. Although I am unsure how much each person liked the product, I know at least one person who received my sample and one who purchased after seeing my Instagram post love it. That makes me happy, because this really does make my skin glow. It really is an affordable product, too.
Independence Day is one of the biggest sale days of the year. For some retailers, it can even rival Black Friday. American companies are proud to offer discounts and large Gift With Purchases that rival the best deals you’ll find all year. It makes perfect sense to me, because this time of year makes me proud to buy American brands. They capitalize on our pride, big time. Other countries have their own special days, like Boxing Day in Canada. Speaking of our friendly neighbors, many American deals cross the border. I would like to make a speech that rivals Bill Paxton’s in Independence Day, but I will skip ahead to the deals.
BzzAgent is an international network of consumers who take part in word-of-mouth campaigns for a variety of products and services. It is a membership program that gives subscribers free products to try. After trying the free products, members review and share their experiences with the campaigns to qualify for future campaigns. Short surveys will appear in your profile. Complete them to see if there are any new campaigns available. When you complete surveys, you can accept free MyPoints offers. There are over 1 million BzzAgents in the US, Canada and the UK.
Welcome to Black Friday, the biggest shopping Day of the Year. By now, I am sure you’ve probably already shopped a bit or are about to get started. My Black Friday Deals post went over some great offers. This article on Cyber Monday offers will have no repeat deals, so I hope you find something great inside.
Every month, I review my empty products. Some products are not worth thinking about once the month is over. Others are so wonderful and seem like they’re made for me. Those are FabuFinds, and I generally like to devote a little more time to discussing them. They are items I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase even at full price if I could not find a good promo code.
To eventually spotlight all of my FabuFinds, I will never repeat items already mentioned in a past article. That does not mean they lost their magic. It is also possible an item not spotlighted in a past Empties article may get promoted as I try it more and fall deeper in love. Other times, it is because I had a lot of FabuFinds in a previous month and had to condense the article. There were four products I consider FabuFinds in my June Empties that I have not discussed yet.
My dry skin requires intense moisturizing. I’m not as flexible as I once was, so there are areas of my back I cannot reach. If my husband is home when I shower, I sometimes ask him to moisturize the areas I cannot reach. The problem is he is not always available. He always complains about the scents of my products, too. It was time to either become more flexible (cue the extra yoga classes), or find a tool that could aid me.
