BECCA Mini Highlighters arrive broken almost as often as they arrive intact, so I would never recommend purchasing a mini. The price per ounce is also too high that way even though it is a beautiful highlighter formula. If you must have a mini, try to get it in a GWP, subscription, or a kit. The Champagne Pop I received in my July 2019 Sephora Play Box and Rose Gold I got in an Ulta GWP (did not write an article on that) arrived broken. Thankfully, I already owned both shades, so it was not a big deal. Instead of repressing them, I decided to combine them with some liquid opal to make a new shade in a cream format.
My Sephora Kat Von D birthday gift review is ready. Of all the 2019 Sephora Birthday gifts, the Kat Von D gift is certainly the most controversial. I’ve been a fan of hers for some time and own a lot of products from her line. While I disagree with her immunization stance, I have not boycotted her brand. Since I redeemed the Milk Makeup gift for my birthday present (article coming), I created a Sephora account for my youngest son to bring you this Sephora Kat Von D birthday gift review. Everyone with a Beauty Insider account gets a birthday gift offer, so sign up if you have not already. There is no purchase required to pick up a gift in store, but you must make a purchase to redeem it online. Stop by my Birthday Beauty Deals page (if you have a birthday coming soon), because other retailers have offers as well. The Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip Kit was marked down to $47 on 11/21/18. I thought this was a great deal at $68, so I think it is a steal at the new price. After the somewhat disappointing Superstars Kit and the lackluster Superstars Everyday Must Haves Kit, my expectations for the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip were low. Thankfully, this exceeds my expectations, because I think this is a pretty good set. I have no problem paying the full $68 asking price, so I placed an online order today. In the past, I would have shied away from a set with so many non-traditional bullet lipsticks, but I am trying to broaden my horizons and try new things. At some point, I will write a comprehensive article on the liquid lipsticks I’ve tried and go over my results for which one is best for dry lips. Until then, I will keep exploring.

This 2018 Sephora Favorites Kit came back in stock temporarily (after I reviewed it), but it returned to its original $80 price tag. I went over the reasons I would not purchase the 2018 Sephora Favorites Superstars Kit at full-price in a grab or pass article. The main reason was the original price of $80 was too high for mostly samples that Sephora has given out many times. Of the $85.50 in full-size products, none of the items really grabbed my attention. I already owned two of them and the other two were things I would not usually purchase, especially at full-price. All of the samples already existed in my collection, and I did not need duplicates of any of them. My decision in that article was I would purchase the kit if it dipped to $40. At that price, I could justify grabbing the two items I did not already own and keeping some duplicates of the products I really love and would actually need. Days after posting that article, Sephora discounted the set to $40 in its Labor Day Sale. To make sure I could not pass this deal up, Sephora allowed me to use my Rouge discount code from the Beauty Insider Appreciation Event for an extra 20% off bringing the final sales price to $32.
The new Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip Kit is out. I love when Sephora puts out a new Favorites Set. These sets retail for a lot less than the value of the items inside. As long as the items you plan on keeping exceed the value of the price you pay for the set, it is a good deal. This is one of my favorite ways to sample new items, and I like the sets even more when they have some full-sized items inside. While paying for samples is something I do often with subscription boxes, I limit how often I pay for samples in sets. The mystery of subscription boxes and desire to get things I would never purchase prevails in that case. When a set only has samples and costs over $20, I am less likely to purchase it. Paying for samples is not always a bad thing, especially when sets have items you really want to try, and you have not been able to get them for free or as a GWP.
No one puts favorites sets together like Sephora. They are one of my favorite things to buy, because I love sampling a lot of items that I get an incredible deal on. There is always a $75 Favorites kit released before the holidays that I consider the blockbuster. This year, that set is the Sephora Favorites Beauty’s Most Coveted set. It was out-of-stock very early into the Employee Appreciation sale, but it did come back in stock before that sale ended. I gave away my extra codes, so I decided to wait for the VIB Rouge Sale. When the sale started, it was still out-of-stock, but it did come back a day into the sale. Shortly after picking it up, it went out-of-stock again. The more popular sets tend to go in and out-of-stock a lot during these sales, but Sephora usually re-stocks them a few times. Sephora could re-stock this before the VIB sale or at least afterward for those thinking of gifting this set for Christmas (or getting a Christmas gift for themselves).

The Sephora VIB Rouge 20% off sale started today. I’ve covered the info needed to shop this sale. If any of you are considering a trip to the store for the free bag with any purchase, I can confirm it is the same thin bag offered since 2014. Sephora calls this a shopping bag, but it is thicker than the average shopper bag. However, it is much thinner than the average reusable shopping bag. This free bag has not been available online since 2014. It is prettier than the design from last year. Like the Sample Clutch and the Mystery Sample Bag, this bag has gemstones. Unless a trip to the store is convenient for you, the bag alone is probably not worth the trip. It rips easily, but I do like these bags to store my empties. They stand upright and rarely fall over. By picking one up this year, I will have another back-up when my current one inevitably rips.
There were 380 recipients of the Kat Von D To-Die-For Duo from Sephora in the Rewards Bazaar. I was one of the lucky recipients, or unlucky depending on how you viewed the perk, who ordered it for 750 points. Kat Von D is an extremely talented artist, who happens to make quality makeup products. Higher valued items in the Rewards Bazaar sell out quickly, so no one gets a chance to wait to see what others receive before redeeming them. Read more about the program and what to expect. When this coffin with two mini eyeliners hit the Rewards Bazaar, Kat Von D fans rejoiced. It was listed as a travel case and was in the shape of a coffin. The artistry on the coffin photographed beautifully.
The Kat Von D To-Die-For Duo is available in the Rewards Bazaar at Sephora now. Read more about the Rewards Bazaar and what to expect from the program. There are only 300 available in the US and 80 available in Canada, so act quickly if this is something you want. I picked one up. Odds are it will be out of stock long before I receive it though. My plan (if more units were available) was to wait to see what the quality was like before I spent any points on it. This is the first time I’ve redeemed a perk over 500 points in all my years shopping with Sephora, so I hope my first “larger perk” lives up to my expectations.

Two of my favorite things to collect are lip products and eyeshadows. I have a hard time passing on the latest and greatest eyeshadow palette and lipstick kit. Sephora puts favorites kits together like no one else. It is so hard to pass on them, even though I have more lippies than I can use. Earlier this year, Sephora launched Give Me Some Nude Lip for $28. Even though I am not a huge fan of nude lip colors, I loved the set. The colors in this new Give Me Some Lip are more my speed, so I knew I had to get this. If you’re looking for Give Me Some More Lip that launches every year, that should probably launch around the end of September if it follows 2015 or mid September if it follows 2014. After seeing previews around social media, it is safe to say I will purchase that one as well. These lip sets never stay in stock long, so it will probably sell out before the bigger one launches.
There are so many terrible beauty products. Very few of us come close to trying them all (thank goodness). Of all the ones I tried this year, I selected my ten least favorite. I limited the list to products I tried for the first time this year, but that does not mean these items were all released in 2015. Sometimes getting the best deal means I discover products after they are no longer new to stores. When they are terrible products, it really is no deal at all. Maybe I should re-evaluate my policy of not returning things, because I kept all these train wrecks. It was really hard to narrow this list down, because you have to kiss some frogs to find your prince.

When it comes to favorite sets, no one puts them together like Sephora. The Give Me More Lip Kit usually releases every year in mid September, but it released a little later this year. I have a really hard time passing on favorites that are makeup and skin care related causing me to buy more than I should. My favorite kit each year has is the Sun Safety or the Give Me More Lip. The smaller Give Me Some Lip Kit looked nice as well, but I sat on buying it for too long and missed out. It was cuter than the one I got in 2013 and 2014, so I regret my decision to wait until I had more used than unused lipsticks to buy it.
What are those dots on your lipstick? If you’ve asked yourself this question, you’ve probably Googled it looking for more information. Unless your Google skills are superior to mine, your search results probably did not yield a lot of information. Being the deal shopper I am, I often buy lipsticks (and a ton of other items) when they go on sale or have a great GWP offer attached. In August 2014, I bought 12 Kat Von D lipsticks from Sephora when they went on sale marked from $19 to $7. After tax, the lipsticks cost me over $100. I also purchased the Bite Deconstructed Rose Trio for $35 from Sephora on 12/19/14.
I know most of you are thinking those are incredible deals, and they were. That is why I pounced on them. The problem is I do not wear makeup as often as I should with what I buy. In April 2015, I purged and cleaned my makeup. Remember that it is only a good deal when you buy quality items, so price is not king. Only one of the three Bite lipsticks and 2 of the 12 Kat Von D lipsticks are used. That means 12 of my 15 incredible deals are completely untouched. They have not even been swatched. There were a few other lipsticks that had dots but only Kat Von D and Bite Beauty had dots on almost every lipstick within their respective brands.
