Julep December 2015 Birthstone and YAYTODAY 50% off

I love collecting the Julep birthstones, so I collect them all and not just my birthstone. December’s offering is a topaz blue. Birthstones are usually only available in the Secret Store from the 1st to the 3rd of the month. If you purchase during this period, you generally have to pay $11.20 (the Maven price). Julep extended its amazing YAYTODAY promo code for 50% off for two days past Cyber Monday. On the 2nd, I decided to see if the birthstone happened to release early to the main site. A search for the December birthstone showed it available and on sale for $9.99.

Julep November 2015 Birthstone

I love collecting the Julep birthstones, so I collect them all and not just my birthstone. November’s offering is a shimmery bronze-orange. Some may want to order this the first day of the month when it opens up in the secret store to get it before it sells out. The problem is they charge the full $11.20 Maven price in the secret store, and promo codes do not apply. If you wait it out a little, even the colors that sell out will usually return. As a Maven, I get free shipping with every order, so I could order the birthstone each month and call it a day. That is not my style though, because I live for a deal. Mavens get offer codes in each box (that I will always share with you here as long as Julep allows me to share it).

Julep October 2015 Birthstone

I love collecting the Julep birthstones, so I collect them all and not just my birthstone. October’s offering is a beautiful pink, and it looks as perfect on as it did onscreen. Some may want to order this the first day of the month when it opens up in the secret store to get it before it sells out. The problem is they charge the full $11.20 Maven price in the secret store, and promo codes do not apply. If you wait it out a little, even the colors that sell out will usually return. Julep Birthstone September 2015

I love collecting the Julep birthstones, so I collect them all and not just my birthstone. September’s offering is a stunning blue, and it looks as beautiful on as it did onscreen. Some may want to order this the first day of the month when it opens up in the secret store to get it before it sells out. The problem is they charge the full $11.20 Maven price in the secret store, and promo codes do not apply. If you wait it out a little, even the colors that sell out will usually return. Julep May 2015 Birthstone

I love collecting the Julep birthstones, so I collect them all and not just my birthstone. Being back on track was nice. At this point, I had not discovered the issue with March polish, so I thought I was back to business as usual. That means ordering the birthstone for the current month as soon as I remember after the secret store closes. Some may want to order this the first day of the month when it opens up in the secret store to get it before it sells out. The problem is they charge the full $11.20 Maven price in the secret store, and promo codes do not apply.

If you wait it out a little, even the colors that sell out will usually return. It can take some time though (looking at you, March). As a Maven, I get free shipping with every order, so I could order the birthstone each month and call it a day. That is not my style though, because I live for a deal. Mavens get offer codes in each box (that I will always share with you here as long as Julep allows me to share it).

Julep April 2015 Birthstone

I love collecting the Julep birthstones, so I collect them all and not just my birthstone. March had been out of stock for over a month, and I do not like to collect the polishes out-of-order. If for any reason the OOS polish does not return, I do not want gaps in the collection before it ends. My concern was March would return to stock, but April would go out of stock by then. As such, I decided on 04/13/15 to purchase April before March. It worked out, kind of. Julep Liza, the March offering returned to stock the next day before disappearing again. She has been gone every other time I’ve checked, too. Some may want to order this the first day of the month when it opens up in the secret store to get it before it sells out. The problem is they charge the full $11.20 Maven price in the secret store, and promo codes do not apply.

Julep June 2015, July 2015 and August 2015 Birthstones

I love collecting the Julep birthstones, so I collect them all and not just my birthstone. June’s offering sold out while it was still in the Secret Store. Some may want to order this the first day of the month when it opens up in the secret store to get it before it sells out. The problem is they charge the full $11.20 Maven price in the secret store, and promo codes do not apply.

If you wait it out a little, even the colors that sell out will usually return. It can take some time though. As a Maven, I get free shipping with every order, so I could order the gemstone each month and call it a day. That is not my style though, because I live for a deal. Mavens get offer codes in each box.

Julep Sweet Steal Brown Eyed Girl, and the March 2015 Birthstone

The Sweet Steal is a daily deal offered by Julep. It is the place where you can get a specially curated set at a deep discount. If a steal is really good, do not sit on it. They sometimes sell out in the middle of the day. My Julep obsession is huge, so I check it several times a week. You are not generally notified of a new offer, but there is a new one available or sold out for the day almost every time I check.

I stalked the March birthstone daily for almost a month. In addition to the fact that I collect all the birthstones, March is my birth month. Plus, the polish color looked gorgeous. It was out of stock the first time I checked on 03/16/15. From that day until 04/14/15, I never saw it in stock.

Julep February 2015 Birthstone

I love collecting the Julep birthstones, so I collect them all rather than just my gemstone. February’s offering was a black glitter polish. While black is not my usual color, my collection needs to be complete. Also, a little glitter never hurt anyone, so I am always down for a glitter polish. Some may be tempted to order this the first day of the month when it opens up in the secret store. More popular colors will sometimes sell out when they’re in the store. The problem is they charge the full $11.20 Maven price in the secret store, and promo codes do not apply.

If you wait it out a little, even the colors that sell out will make a triumphant return. It can take some time with certain colors, which I will cover soon. As a Maven, I get free shipping with every order, so I could order just the birthstone each month and call it a day. That is not my style though, because I live for a deal. Mavens get offer codes in each box.

Julep January 2015 Birthstone and a Nail Polish Challenge

See recent Julep articles.

My hands are not the best, so I have a love/hate relationship with nail polish. On the one hand (sorry that I could not help the pun), unkempt hands get ignored. That way, no one notices them. At the same time, all hands look better with a nice manicure and a little polish. Yes, more people will notice them, but at least they will look as good as they can. So, I invite all of you on my journey to keep my rough, man-hands polished as much as possible. I’ve joined a nail polish challenge and plan to paint my nails at least once a week for the remainder of 2015.

Nail polish Saturday will be my new “thing.” I started collecting nail polish in May 2013. Prior to that, I only owned a couple of older bottles that I tossed when my new collection started. That means my current collection is all less than two years old with some being very near the two year mark and others that just arrived today. My newest haul from Julep just came in with two polishes and a plush pout. Of course, I will always swatch new items for you.
