It’s time for my December 2019 Sephora Play review. Play! by Sephora is a subscription box that offers five deluxe beauty samples and a bonus foil packet or perfume vial for $10 a month plus tax. Shipping is free. Only items sold at Sephora come inside the Play! box so most items are from well-known, high-end brands. While Sephora does carry a few low-end and luxury brands, they do not really appear in the subscription boxes. There is not a traditional rewards program with this box so you cannot get points for referring friends or writing reviews. It does award 10 Beauty Insider points to Beauty Insiders, 12.5 points to VIB members, and 15 points to VIB Rouge members. This Play! box also applies $10 toward your purchase minimum to maintain your Beauty Insider status. Visit my Sephora page for descriptions on points and status. The $10 charge processes immediately for new subscribers and from the 1st through the 4th for succeeding months. Boxes usually ship from the 11th through the 15th.
This is my Winter 2019 FabFitFun review. I ordered three Winter 2019 FabFitFun boxes and some add-ons, so I have a lot to go over. FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription that releases one box per season. Boxes have over $200 in value. The items are always full-sized and include products from: beauty, wellness, fashion, and fitness lines. Subscribers can either pay $179.99 for an annual subscription ($20 off when buying 4 boxes up front) or $49.99 for a Seasonal subscription. Shipping is free, but sales tax gets charged (in certain states). There is usually a code to receive $10 off your first seasonal box. Those codes are fffa2p6and FAB10. Members can select add-ons at deeply discounted prices to include with their boxes. All subscribers get to customize some choice options, but Annual Subscribers (select members) get extra choices.

The year flew by, and I know a lot of us are already preparing for Christmas. I’ve gathered some things I’d like to give one lucky winner as a Christmas present from me. My items are 111Skin Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask ($32), which I still have one more of for the next giveaway, 1.7oz Kate Somerville Exfolikate ($75), drybar Prep Rally Prime & Prep Detangler ($23), and Sephora Collection Coconut Hand Balm ($5). Click the links to see how I came by each one. I have not written the article for the FabFitFun Winter 2019 Box yet, but that is where I got the drybar item.
Sephora hosts a variety of chats via Beautytalk with beauty professionals who represent the brands we know and love. I’ve participated in a lot of them for over a year. Who better to ask your brand specific question to than the brand creator or a top executive! On 06/29/15, Drybar and Bumble and bumble each chatted with Beautytalk members for an hour. Although I’ve dabbled with Bumble & Bumble, I do not have a lot of experience with Drybar at all (other than my shower cap, which I adore). The topic was hair, and I struggle with nothing when getting ready more than hair.
I want to find a magical product that reduces or eliminates frizz in a foolproof form. Hair oils can look greasy when they’re not applied perfectly. My hair is seriously a huge frizz ball, but I almost prefer the frizzy look to oily when I apply hair oil improperly. Rubbing it together and applying from mid shaft to ends helps reduce the oily look, but I wish there was something more effective near the base of my head. Though neither Alli Webb nor Mischa answered my specific question, I did find some helpful responses in the insightful questions others asked.
