My Birchbox The Heat Protection Hair Kit Review is ready. I purchased this when it was 50% off, and it is currently only 20% off. While I wish I could have gotten this up when it was still 50% off, I figure Birchbox will eventually lower it again. Birchbox puts out a lot of high-quality Discovery Kits. These are smaller versions of the Limited Edition Boxes and typically come in a clear TSA approved travel bag. A discovery kit is a themed bag with multiple brands curated by Birchbox. Some discovery kits, particularly the ones with all samples, are not worth purchasing. Of course, I usually buy them for hard to get items I really want to try or already love. As long as the value of the items I am keeping exceeds the amount I am paying, I will usually purchase the kit. Others are more than worth it.

It’s time for the worst in Beauty for 2019. Few things suck worse than spending hard-earned money on an awful product. Whether low-end, mid-range, high-end, or luxury, any money spent is a bad deal when the product is terrible. I really could call this article the 10 Worst Beauty Deals of 2019. The more you spend the more disappointed you are when there is no return on your investment. It is also the reason we are more forgiving when drugstore products let us down but feel more disappointed when a high-end product is a bust. This is why high-end and luxury products make these lists more than drugstore items. Some are just not a fit, but others are universally bad. Okay, nothing is universally good or bad, but some products come close. Of all the products I tried this year, I selected my ten least favorite. I limited the list to products I tried for the first time this year. Deal shoppers do not always try things the moment they release, so these things did not all launch in 2019.
It was back in stock on 08-16-18 but gone again on 08-20-18.
When I started writing this article yesterday, the Travel-Ready Treasures box was still in stock. The article was mostly written, so I decided to publish it anyway. It seems like the boxes are running out of inventory faster than usual. That or the last two boxes I received were in high demand. This is another one I originally was not going to purchase. There are a lot of deluxe items in this, and I have more samples than I can use in a lifetime. I ultimately decided to grab it, because I think the bag is cute and saw enough value in some of the pieces I did not already own. Over a week after the box allegedly shipped, it was still saying USPS Currently Awaiting Package. Thankfully, I contacted Birchbox to see what happened, because almost three weeks later USPS is still “awaiting” the original package. Birchbox did send me a replacement, and that is the one I am reviewing now. Who knows, if USPS ever finds my lost package, Birchbox may have one more brand new kit to sell.
Limited Edition Boxes are my favorite items to purchase from Birchbox. These are a mixture of full and sample sized items that usually fit a specific box theme. All boxes have a value far greater than the cost so they are a great deal when the items you want to keep exceed the value of what you’re paying. Better boxes sell out quickly, but the ones that linger will occasionally pop up in the sale section for 30% off. Aces sometimes get 40% off on sale items. Predicting which ones will sell out is not always easy so I buy the ones I really want close to the release date. If you’re on the fence because of price, wait it out.
On the 15th anniversary of the worst day on US soil, I want to break the fourth wall for a second to say, “We remember.” Yes, it is September, and I am just receiving and thus reviewing the Beauty in Bloom Limited Edition Birchbox. With all the awesome things in this box, I am grateful it lasted this long. It’s a box I really wanted to buy after I received my final review points for reviewing my August 2016 Birchbox. Before I placed my order, I saw a video where Lorelei teased the new Cheers To You! box without specifying what was inside. Instead of buying this box then, I decided to wait to see what was in that box. It is their sixth anniversary box, so I assumed it would be amazing. Although spoilers from Cheers to You! did not go over well with most people, I actually think it looks like a good box. I actually would have enjoyed a lot of things in the box, because I: want to explore more Erno Laszlo, loved the Pixi eyeshadow I sampled, enjoy the Cynthia Rowley lip stains, love trying any and all candles, and I think the tray in that set is adorable. The problem is I still think the Beauty in Bloom Limited Edition Box is better.
Every month, I review my empty products. Some products are not worth thinking about once the month is over. Others are wonderful and seem like they’re made for me. Those are FabuFinds, and I generally devote a little more time to discussing them. They are items I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase even at full price if I could not find a good promo code.
To eventually spotlight all of my FabuFinds, I will never repeat items already mentioned in a past article. That does not mean they lost their magic. It is also possible an item not spotlighted in a past Empties article may get promoted as I try it more and fall deeper in love. Other times, it is because I had a lot of FabuFinds in a previous month and had to condense the article. There were five products I consider FabuFinds in my December Empties that I have not discussed yet.
You’ve banked a lot of points at Birchbox. What should you spend them on? There are thousands of great items in the store. If you’re a subscriber, you’ve probably even sampled some gems you could buy. I like to use my points to purchase more boxes. The Limited edition boxes, in particular. When the Mother’s Day Box released this year, I wanted to get it. This was when I was purchasing gift subscriptions for everyone. In an effort to save my points for that, I passed.
The Lovely Day Limited Edition Box has so many amazing items in it. I’ve loved so many of the limited edition boxes lately, and this one was no exception. Other than the tea, because I do not drink tea, I wanted to try everything in this. Thinking it would sell out very quickly, I wrote off the idea of ever getting it. Fast forward to July 21st. All of my gift subscriptions for the year (more articles to come) are ordered. I received 50 bonus points for telling Birchbox I want them to come to Vegas during their road trip promotion.
