UltaMate Rewards Diamond Life Welcome 2019 Qualification Gift

This is my 2019 Ulta Beauty Diamond Rewards Welcome gift review. I enjoyed this gift a lot more than the one I received in 2018. Anyone who spends $1200 from January 1st through December 31st in a calendar year will qualify for the Ulta Diamond Rewards program. Within a few weeks of qualifying, Ulta will mail a holographic, pink welcome envelope. The contents will include a certificate to redeem $25 off a beauty service, and a certificate to redeem a full-size beauty product.

Sephora Sun Safety Kit 2018 Review

See the 2019 Sephora Sun Safety Kit, and all 2019 Sephora Promotions, Sales, GWP, Deals, Promo Codes, and Events.

I’m here to bring you my Sephora Sun Safety Kit 2018 review. Sephora usually tempts me when it puts out a new Favorites Set. These sets retail for a lot less than the value of the items inside. As long as the items you plan on keeping exceed the value of the price you pay for the set, it is a good deal. This is one of my favorite ways to sample new items, and I like the sets even more when they have some full-sized items inside. While paying for samples is something I do often with subscription boxes, I limit how often I pay for samples in sets. The mystery of subscription boxes and desire to get things I would never purchase prevails in that case. When a set only has samples and costs over $20, I am less likely to purchase it. Paying for samples is not always a bad thing, especially when sets have items you really want to try, and you have not been able to get them for free or as a GWP.

Nail Polish Swatches Corals and Oranges

My nail polish collection is large. Polishes kept in good condition (away from heat or light) can last a long time, longer than the two years many people quote. A good thinner (I use Seche Vite) can also revive them. I have tossed polishes when thinner cannot save them or they have obviously gone bad, but it is rare. When I started collecting polishes again, I tossed all polishes older than the summer of 2013. To avoid ordering duplicates, I created a spreadsheet. Swatching them with these spoons I purchased from Amazon will help me compare the colors, finishes, and overall quality. All polishes only have one coat, because I wanted to spot the difference between my sheer and opaque polishes. We’ve all seen polishes that look dark in the bottle only to need 3-4 coats for opaqueness. No polishes have base or top coats either, because that can change the way the polish looks.

The Most Anticipated Releases of Early Winter 2016

Beauty Products are constantly reinvented to bring us the latest and greatest. Innovations can miss, but there are times when they advance a product. Of all the ones recently released, these are the ones I anticipate most. Some bring new features or formulations to products we already know and love, others are brand-new takes on products, and most are new colors to welcome the upcoming season. While I do love seeing new colors and find some season appropriate, I do not let the season dictate the colors I wear all the time. That means, I am fine waiting until the next season to purchase an item. It not only gives me a chance to see it on others, but I can sometimes get a better deal on items that are not brand new releases. At some point, I will pick these up (as long as first reviews are favorable) or I can swatch or test them myself.

Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip 2015

See the 2018 Give Me More Lip Review

When it comes to favorite sets, no one puts them together like Sephora. The Give Me More Lip Kit usually releases every year in mid September, but it released a little later this year. I have a really hard time passing on favorites that are makeup and skin care related causing me to buy more than I should. My favorite kit each year has is the Sun Safety or the Give Me More Lip. The smaller Give Me Some Lip Kit looked nice as well, but I sat on buying it for too long and missed out. It was cuter than the one I got in 2013 and 2014, so I regret my decision to wait until I had more used than unused lipsticks to buy it.

Sephora Chic Week Shopping

I love Sephora. When there is a sale, it does not exclude anything. Gift cards cannot be purchased with them, but I do not see that as an exclusion. It is one of the few retailers where you do not have to read a bunch of fine print to plan your sale hauls. Chic Week is the first major sale of the year, and always falls around the beginning of April. Although, there are usually skincare point multipliers in January and perfume point multipliers in February that can boost your points. Every year, usually in April, the store goes on sale.  Rouge and VIB clients get 15% off, and Beauty Insiders get 10% off. The sale opened to Rouge members on the 12th, VIB members on the 16th, and Beauty Insiders on the 17th. Rouge members were even invited to a special event at 9am on the 12th.

Although I RSVP’d for the event, I woke up with a terrible headache that day and was unable to attend. I’ve attended events in the past though, so I can write from experience about the event. Brand reps come into the store. Some brands offer special gifts with purchase if you buy from them. They usually have stations to sample the products on shoppers. At a previous Rouge event, I received a mini facial from the Ole Henriksen rep, and my sister received a makeup application from the Smashbox rep. They served pastries, coffee, and water. Once we completed our purchases, we checked out where I received a bag of samples.  She was my guest, so she received a few foils. When I attend the next event, I will write a detailed description of everything.

Sephora Sun Safety Kit 2015

2016 Sun Safety Kit

Every year in mid to late May, Sephora releases the Sun Safety Kit. It retails for $32, and $20 of that is donated to the Skin Cancer Foundation. My Dad has skin cancer, so I like the idea of buying something I want while supporting the cause at the same time. My insane stockpile told me I was pretty stocked on sunscreen, so I was ready to pass. I still have a few stragglers from the 2013 kit and half or more from 2014. Luckily, most sunscreens print the expiration date, so I use sunscreen in the order it expires and not when it arrives.

Everyone was waiting impatiently for this release, which was a bit later than 2014. It usually sells out in a few days, but it lasted about a week on and off online. It released and my inner hoarder/deal seeker told me to buy it. And, here we are.
