Target June Women’s and June Men’s Beauty Boxes

Target releases seasonal beauty boxes. These are not subscription boxes and always sell out the day they release, usually in the first few hours. New boxes (for men and women) released today and is still available. Shipping is always free, and the box contents announce as soon as the box goes on sale. Most items are sample sized, but there is almost always a full-size item or two inside. Value is usually at least triple the cost. The only variation in box content is on color items. Unless the color is specifically stated in the description, colors will vary. Boxes usually range in price from $5 to $10. The June Women’s Beauty Box retails for $10, and the June Men’s Beauty Box retails for $5.

Sephora Flash Your Card Event VIB Rouge, Sephora Collection Disney Minnie Beauty Reflection of Minnie Compact Mirror, and Save $10 on Two Gift Cards Worth $50 or More at Smith’s/Kroger

The Disney Minnie Collection is on sale. See my Disney items to see why I recommend this collection.

This was an open-door Rouge Event. Private, closed-door Rouge Events were canceled after the Points Promotion in August 2015, but they returned in June 2016 to launch new items from the Fall. The last VIB Rouge event took place 09/10/16.

If you’re as disappointed as I am that Sephora canceled the closed-door VIB Rouge events, an employee at my store thinks Sephora is listening to its customers. She said they canceled the events based on feedback and are trying to offer events more often (that ultimately give less per event) for more Rouge clients to partake. Now that some customers are expressing disappointment, they are planning to bring a closed-door event back. Her guess (and she asked me not to quote her) is the event will take place in September. There have never been any closed-door Rouge events in September before, so I’d be curious what promotion the event would be tied to. The points promotion last August included one, but the November VIB sale has not seen an event since 2014.

Sephora Collection Disney Minnie Beauty Minnie’s Aren’t You Gorgeous Handheld Mirror and the Annual 10% VIB Discount

See 2018 VIB Promotions.

The Disney Minnie Collection is on sale. See my Disney items to see why I recommend this collection.

When Sephora released the Disney Minnie Beauty By Sephora Collection, there were three pieces I needed. I love all things beauty and all things Disney, so limiting what I collect is difficult. The first was the Minnie World in Color Eyeshadow Palette, which I picked up during the Sephora Love Note Sale. This is still available and definitely worth it. There was a 250 point tote bag (which may still be available in stores but is out of stock online) that I also think is worth it. My last piece was harder to pick up, but I finally got it on 05/03/16.

Sephora Love Note Sale and The Disney Minnie Beauty By Sephora Collection – Bag and Color Eyeshadow Palette

See recent articles on Sephora Sale items.

The Disney Minnie Collection is on sale. See my Disney items to see why I recommend this collection.

The Sephora Love Note Sale, which I still refer to as Chic Week, launched today for Rouge members. It launches tomorrow for VIB and on the 9th for Beauty Insiders. Rouge and VIB clients get 15% off and can shop through the 13th. Beauty Insiders get 10% off and can shop through the 12th. There are a few changes to the program this year. I decided to go into the store today to get the free bag for Rouge clients to kick off the sale. If you like the bag and are not a Rouge member or were unable to get one, this is a 250 point perk anyone can redeem.

PEOPLEshop Limited Edition The Voice Gift Box

I got an email on 07/05/16 stating there is a 25% sale. A lot of cute items are on sale. The box below is still out of stock, but a smaller version of the box, which has the sunglasses, the lip pencil, and the nail polish are still in stock. It is considered the “Best of” the original box. My favorite part of the original box and the best value is the sunglasses. This one is $16.99. Code PS10 gives another 10% off. There may be a better discount code available. I do not have any affiliation, so I do not have access to a better code. The 20NOW code I used in January is expired.

I had never even heard of PEOPLEshop before even though I know a lot of magazines sell items. A BTer (member of Sephora’s Beauty Forum) told me about this Limited Edition The Voice Gift Box for $19.99. It has a $150 value. At first, I almost passed, because I do not drink coffee, rarely wear jewelry, already own Myriam, purchased replacement konjac sponges the day before she shared this deal, and already have a few LAQA pencils meaning the unspecified color that arrives in the box could be one I already own. As I looked over the contents of the box, it hit me that it would make a great gift for the Mother-in-Law. Her birthday is just around the corner, too. The glasses alone are worth the cost of the box as long as they work with your face shape, so I decided to get one for myself as well. Who cannot use another pair of glasses?

Nordstrom Lunar New Year Gift With Purchase and Renew Mask Sample Gift

2016 marks the Year of the Monkey. As a Monkey, I wanted to collect some pieces. This is the first time I’ve been interested in makeup during my year. Nordstrom carries a couple of pieces I want, but I traded for one of them. The item I purchased here, while technically for The Year of The Monkey, does not have an actual monkey on it. I love the beautiful, limited edition gold packaging though. My desire to purchase something that represents the Chinese Zodiac happened to coincide with the Lunar New Year. To celebrate the switch, Nordstrom offered a special gift with purchase I was able to partake in as well.

Giorgio Armani Chinese New Year Highlighting Palette Limited Edition The Year of the Monkey

2016 marks the Year of the Monkey. As a Monkey, I wanted to collect some pieces. This is the first time I’ve been interested in makeup during my year. When I mentioned I was considering the Giorgio Armani Chinese New Year Highlighting Palette Limited Edition, someone was kind enough to offer it up for a trade. I almost declined her trade, because she was way too generous (wanting mostly samples and items I paid very little for). After sweetening it (literally) with some chocolate only sold in Vegas and getting her assurance she was more interested in my trade items than this highlighter, I agreed. The palette itself is stunning. It is glitter heavy, which is why it went up for trade. If you do not like glitter, avoid this!

Lush Unicorn Horn and Rainbow Fun

Today, I am taking a little break from deal reviews to share a fun haul. While there are deals at Lush on occasion, they tend to disappear fast. They do not offer promo codes or free shipping, so I have never shopped there online. If you have a local store and want to take advantage of the sales, they run out of inventory even faster in store than they do online. I asked about the buy one, get one sale in January. This is the sale the releases on the 26th of December. The rep told me they sold out within a few hours of opening on the 26th. Maybe, I can make plans to shop in person the day after Christmas next year if I want to avoid the online shipping fees.

Target Renewal Beauty Box Review

Target releases seasonal beauty boxes. They range in price from $5 to $10. Shipping is free. Unlike some beauty boxes, this is not a subscription. Box contents appear online once they become available, which decreases the likelihood of buyer’s remorse. Items inside a box only tend to vary in color meaning your only surprise will be in the color you get. Some items inside the box are full-sized, and it is not unusual that one item exceeds the cost of the entire box if you were to buy it separately. I like that they usually release more than one box at a time giving you a choice or the possibility to get multiples. Men are not left out either, because they sometimes get a box of their own.

Target Beauty Box 10! of our faves

When Target advertised the 10! of our faves box, I really wanted the: lipstick, Roc, and skinfix. Other items were all bonuses. The limited edition boxes are first come, first served, which is the only drawback on the lack of subscription. You have to act quickly when the boxes come out, because it is not uncommon for them to sell out quickly. I ordered it right away, because it was only $10. It is hard not to find $10 in value. This box sold out before I even got my shipping notification. That means waiting to see what comes in everyone’s box is not an effective strategy on obtaining one. If you want to make sure you get a fall box, subscribe to Target emails and look at them when they hit your inbox. Of course, I will always alert you on the front page when they come back in stock as well. Continue reading

Disney Reigning Beauty Cinderella and Sephora VIBGLOW

See 2018 VIB Promotions.

My Snow White and Belle mirrors are beautiful, so I contemplated buying the other four. When they restocked, I kept telling myself I did not need them all. I really wanted Cinderella though, because she’s classic. After watching Ariel go out of stock, I decided I would purchase Cinderella if she was still available when a good promo code came along. On 10/07/15, someone graciously sent me a message stating the VIBGLOW released a day early. Knowing that code would probably run out of stock quickly, I decided to get the mirror. Stock did run out the same evening. Sephora did send me the official email the next morning after stock returned.

Best of Becca Collection

This article covers the original Best of Becca set. I also have a review for Radiant Glow and Blushed Radiance. All of these are 4-piece sets that arrived with a broken piece. The Becca minis in Sephora Favorites sets, like: Bronze Bares All and Paint It Pink arrive in tact, so the problem is how Becca wraps these sets. They are wonderful products, but they are not wrapped well enough for rough shipping and handling. Sephora wraps its favorites sets and does a much better job.

Becca entered the highlighter world with some strong game. The pictures always looked amazing. I got my hands on a sample and found out that the effects were legit and not clever photo editing. While researching which products I wanted to start exploring the brand with, I came across the Best of Becca kit at Ulta. Sadly, it was out of stock, so I decided to wait before purchasing anything. On 05/09/15, I got a Beauty Break offer that looked interesting.

SAKS Fifth Avenue 20% Off Beauty Plus 16% Back From ebates

SAKS Fifth Avenue offers have been incredible this year. On the morning of 05/11/15, I woke up to find a surprise, unique discount code for 20% off. It included beauty purchases. Passing a discount like that is near impossible, but ebates was also celebrating its birthday. At the time, a number of stores were participating in 16% cash back. Of course, SAKS was one of them. That meant, I would get 20% off the subtotal and 16% back after the purchase. Paying 16% back after removing 20% works out to a 32.8% discount, which is incredible. Neither the discount code nor the cash back had many limitations making it available on items and brands that do not see regular discounts. Unless there is a reason you cannot partake in an offer like this, you always should.

If you’re a subscriber, you’ve probably even sampled some gems you could buy. I like to use my points to purchase more boxes.  The Limited edition boxes, in particular. The CEW boxes are usually a great purchase, because they’re high value and desired items. Birchbox usually applies a $5 discount (applied automatically) when you add both CEW boxes to your cart. You can look at the discount however you want, but I look at it as getting the Mass Appeal box for $10 instead of $15.

The discount makes it almost impossible not to get them both. There are items from both boxes I really want to try or already know and love, so it was an easy decision to get them both.

The Lovely Day Limited Edition Box has so many amazing items in it. I’ve loved so many of the limited edition boxes lately, and this one was no exception. Other than the tea, because I do not drink tea, I wanted to try everything in this. Thinking it would sell out very quickly, I wrote off the idea of ever getting it. Fast forward to July 21st. All of my gift subscriptions for the year (more articles to come) are ordered. I received 50 bonus points for telling Birchbox I want them to come to Vegas during their road trip promotion.

Finding My Beauty Unicorn: MAC Ocean City Blush

We all have those beauty items we missed for one reason or another. Cosmetic companies put out limited edition items, discontinue items, reformulate them for the worst, or at times make them hard to get in certain markets. Limited edition items are probably my least favorite group. Why put so much money and time into making something fabulous only to immediately stop selling it once demand goes through the roof! I know they probably have precise reasons of their own, but my opinion is three-fold.

Cosmetic companies want to stay relevant. As much as I love the established brands, they get talked about as lacking innovation when they continue to release the same products everyone knows and loves. When they do release a new item, many are not even willing to try it, because they’re beauty dinosaurs. Never mind that the quality is usually there. The perception is not, and that is all that matters. My grandmother wore that is the first thing they say when they refuse to try new releases from an established line. The answer is to keep releasing limited edition items. No way granny wore these, because the item was only out a day. Granny was asleep when it launched at midnight and not yet awake when it sold out at 3am. It feels so awesome to purchase this new item that will certainly be a trendsetter for the three days it takes until the next limited edition release.
