Every time I come across great beauty deals worth mentioning in 2019, I will add it to this article. This is where I want to share details on a deal that is not advertised with a specific sale or event. I will mention the place where I saw the best deal, but it might be available at other places. If I know the answer to the following questions, I will always answer them below. Where did I see the deal? What is the deal? When did I see the deal? How long is the deal for (if mentioned)? Is there a reason for the deal (if mentioned)? Have I purchased this deal? If I purchased it in the past, I will provide a mini review.
My favorite shopping event of the year is finally here. This weekend, which kicks before Thanksgiving with some retailers, provides some of the best deals we will see. Traditionally, this is the weekend where most retailers cross over from red to black, and they will do whatever it takes to earn your shopping dollars. Offers are competitive, because almost every retailer will have one. I will update this every time I see an incredible offer through Cyber Monday, so this list will grow over the week. My tastes might vary from yours, so make sure you sign up for emails from all of your favorite retailers. It is also a good idea to check multiple blogs and sites to see what each of them feel is worth mentioning this season. Most of these offers go out to all customers. Of course, there might be some affiliate exclusives or offers targeted to select customers. I am not listing any small offers, because this is the time of year when we can stretch our budget further by scoring just the right deal. Some big offers will not make the cut either, because I cannot list them all.
Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894 when Grover Cleveland (some dispute giving him credit) declared we needed an annual celebration of workers and their achievements. This was during the height of the Industrial Revolution, so employees were really making an impact on the economy. It was not uncommon for workers to endure 12 hour shifts, seven days a week. No one was immune, not even children. Since weekends did not exist for these workers, Labor Day was a welcome and extremely brief reprieve for our ancestors who brought us into a new millennium. Though must of us do not have the work ethic of our forefathers, and thank goodness for that because there is more to life than earning money, Labor Day is still an important part of our society.
Julep canceled its subscription program on February 15, 2019, which was a fantastic way to save money. There are still some tips for getting the best deal at Julep I can offer. Anyone who had a Maven subscription when the program ended was grandfathered into the Maven deals listed below other than the box itself and the Jules, which were eliminated. I removed the information regarding the subscription box and Jules once they were canceled.
The most effective tip for getting the best deal at Birchbox is subscribing. You get five deluxe beauty samples for $10. If you tailor your beauty profile as much as possible, you might even enjoy many of the products you sample. There are some subscriber exclusive offers that can help members save even more. Start-up offers are always available, so no one should ever subscribe without getting something in return for the subscription. Even those who never join the subscription box program can get some great deals at Birchbox.
How do you get the best deal at Beauty.com and Drugstore.com? Deal stacking at Beauty.com is less complicated, but it is possible at Drugstore.com with a little effort. I’ve never seen a guide for getting the best deal for either retailer (even though one may exist). Putting everything I can think of in one place to make deal shopping a little easier seemed like a great idea, because the site is not the easiest to navigate and does not make deal searching easy. A lot of deals are link activated, and the links are temperamental. Dealing with these temperamental links is challenging, but there are ways around it. There are always new things to learn, so I will edit this any time I discover something new. Details scare some people. If you’re scared of detail, click that little X and back out now. Do not say I did not warn you!
How do I offer tips for getting the best deal at Sephora when it only hosts two real sales a year? Sephora is DisneyWorld for makeup lovers. As someone who probably loves Disney more than makeup, I do not say that lightly. Although I love a lot of beauty and makeup stores, I experience pure joy when visiting Sephora. My son calls it my store. He’s not wrong, because I love shopping there. Deal stacking at Sephora is not always possible, but there are times when it is. There are always new things to learn, so I will edit this if I discover something new. I’ve seen guides to getting the best deal at Sephora before, but they’re not usually comprehensive and miss many important tips. Details scare some people. If you’re scared of detail, click that little X and back out now. Do not say I did not warn you!
How do I condense the article on tips for getting the best deal when shopping at Ulta when it has all the best offers? I won’t. Ulta encourages deal stacking, so there are a lot of things to cover. Some deals are a little harder to find, because it rewards our digging efforts with a larger bounty. I’m half-joking. Most people will place orders without putting too much effort into finding a deal, and Ulta knows this. For those willing to do the research and put in the time, Ulta gives us the deals we need to place an order. If you’ve mastered the art of deal (like Tony Schwartz), I’d love if you can think of anything else. There are always new things to learn, so I will edit this if I discover something new. I’ve seen guides to getting the best deal at Ulta before, but they’re not usually comprehensive and miss many important tips. Details scare some people. Independence Day is one of the biggest sale days of the year. For some retailers, it can even rival Black Friday. American companies are proud to offer discounts and large Gift With Purchases that rival the best deals you’ll find all year. It makes perfect sense to me, because this time of year makes me proud to buy American brands. They capitalize on our pride, big time. Other countries have their own special days, like Boxing Day in Canada. Speaking of our friendly neighbors, many American deals cross the border. I would like to make a speech that rivals Bill Paxton’s in Independence Day, but I will skip ahead to the deals.
Happy Leap Day. It will be four years before this day repeats. Many retailers take note of this special day and put on special deals. Here are my favorite Leap Day Deals that are only valid today.
Pay-to-Shop programs allow us to get paid to shop online. We are already spending our money, so we might as well get some of it back, right? Online shopping makes finding the best deal very easy. No driving all over town to compare prices. The cost of gas will eat into or completely erase your savings anyway. If you’re not getting paid to shop online, you are not getting the best deal. Many pay-to-shop programs exist. They affiliate with the retailers and get paid a percentage your subtotal for the “referral.” They are easy to use and completely legit. Getting paid to shop online is not a scam. Ready to get the best deal in every way possible?
Welcome to Black Friday, the biggest shopping Day of the Year. By now, I am sure you’ve probably already shopped a bit or are about to get started. My Black Friday Deals post went over some great offers. This article on Cyber Monday offers will have no repeat deals, so I hope you find something great inside.
Black Friday is the biggest sale day of the year. Traditionally, it is the day most stores cross from red (losing money) to black (making money). Most cross in style with more deals than we can ever partake in. Participating in the best deals once required you to venture out at 3am. Now, you can get a number of great deals from your house. Cyber Monday will bring deals of its own, but it is not always the case that the best Internet deals come out Monday. Many stores see the same sale both days (assuming inventory lasts through the weekend). Some sales are better on Black Friday, even online.
Some of the best deals available all year come around this time. Are you ready to shop? I’m going to discuss popular offers available now or coming soon. Waiting for the right deal may extend your holiday shopping budget and can prevent you from sacrificing quality for quantity. These are recurring offers, so if you’ve happened upon them for a different year, the dates will be different.
I’ve often wondered why some people choose to pay full price on items without any promos, perks, samples or anything. We all do it from time to time, because deal hunting can be a lot of work. Sometimes items are excellent and stand on their own without a deal. Other times, there are no deals to be had. Even when we’ve done our research, we can feel downright discouraged later when we find out we did not get the best deal after all. The love of the deal and the hunt is half the fun for me.
When it comes to television, I have two guilty pleasures. One is Days of Our Lives. I have watched it on and off since I was 13. It is the only soap opera I’ve ever really watched. Years ago when Passions came on after DoOL, I would watch some episodes. That really was soapy even for a soap opera, so I never really got into it. I do remember the current Rafe and Brady were also on Passions, but I cannot remember their character names.
How do I get the best deal? This is a question I see often. Sometimes it is directed toward specific retailers. Other times it is more of a general probing. Let’s face it. Getting the best deal can be a lot of work. Have you ever been so proud of yourself for doing your research and locking down an incredible deal only to find out you did not get the best deal available? You are not alone. This has happened to me, too. We live and we learn from overpaying. Then, we get more savvy in the future. There are the tricks everyone knows. Subscribe to the retailer’s updates. Do Google searches for promo codes. Use Rakuten, ShopatHome, Mrrebates, or TopCashBack to get a percentage back on what you order. Of course, you can always visit sites like this one that try to list all known deals in one place. What are you missing though? Can you do anything else?
