Birthday Beauty Deals

Happy Birthday!

The following retailers have Birthday offers. Most of the promotion codes offer gifts with purchase, but the coupons or links for gifts you pick up in-store are usually freebies (no purchase required). Some of the offers use generic promo codes but others are unique and not activated until around your birthday. It is best to create an account and enter your birthdate before your actual birthday to take advantage of the most deals. Remember to check the offer page on covered retailers (linked below) before shopping, because the general offer(s) might be better than the birthday offer. Many of these offers do not appear until your actual birthday so try not to spend your entire birthday budget in advance. All offers below are from 2018. My birth month is March so those who have birthdays before mine will see a lot of offers from the previous year. The good news is while the offer may vary, there is a good chance that retailer will have a birthday offer if it had one in the previous year. Offers can change from year to year or even throughout the year, but some remain the same or close to the previous offer.

This list is ever-changing. Brands like: AHAVA, Becca, NARS, Nuxe (which left the US entirely on 04/22/17), Pur Cosmetics, Shu Uemura, and others have stopped offering birthday gifts. Any retailer that sent an offer in a previous year but did not respond to my 2018 email asking about the gift was also removed. I will try to remove expired offers by the end of March each year. To get all of your birthday gift offers without the hassle of contacting a retailer, I suggest staying subscribed to emails throughout the year. Yes, it is a pain, but you miss the birthday offer and other great offers throughout the year if you unsubscribe. Resubscribing is not always easy and some retailers make it nearly impossible.

Baublebar- A unique code for 20% off. It was sent on the 8th and valid for two weeks.

Bobbi Brown- 20% off your order and free shipping. Code was bday0318, which looks generic for March. It was sent 4 days after my birthday and valid for 30 days from my birthday.

BON TON- 25% off your purchase and free shipping with a $25 purchase. Code was MARBTHDAY18 for 25% off and BDAYMAR for free shipping with a $25 purchase, which both look generic for March. There are a lot of exclusions, including all beauty and fragrance. It was sent on the 2nd and was valid through the end of the month. A reminder was sent 3 days after my birthday.

Boscia- $10 off a $40 purchase. Customer service confirmed this is still the 2018 offer, but after multiple emails I am still unsure if the code is unique or not. It was general in the past so it may still be. The email is sent on your birthday and valid for 3 months afterward.

Bumble and bumble- 15% off a $40 purchase. Code was BDAY0318, which looks generic for March. It was sent the day before my birthday and valid through the end of the month.

Carol’s Daughter- A unique code for a full-size Monoi Repairing Leave-In Conditioner with any purchase. It was sent the day before my birthday and valid through the 15th of the following month.

Caudalie- 30 bonus MyCaudalie points. Awarded automatically on your birthday. Rewards start at 100 so 30 is very generous.

Clinique- Free shipping on any purchase. There is no code to redeem, but the shipping charge did not drop off until I logged into my account. The email was sent on my actual birthday and was good for 30 days.

Cosmedix- A unique code for 20% off. It arrived on my actual birthday and was good for 10 days.

Crabtree & Evelyn- 15% off your order. Code was BDAY045, which looks generic.  It was sent on the 1st and good until the 15th of the following month.

Deborah Lippmann- A unique code for 15% off any purchase. The email was sent three days before my birthday and claims to expire on my birthday. In past years, the unique code worked well past my birthday. She also sends a video singing Happy Birthday the day before your birthday. It’s sweet, and she has a beautiful voice.

DSW- A unique code for $5 off any purchase. Premier members get $10 off. The email was sent on the 2nd and valid through the end of the month.

Estee Lauder- Receive a deluxe Re-Nutriv Ultimate Diamond Creme and Eye Creme with any purchase. The code was ELIST0318. I saw this offer on Facebook on the 2nd and via email on the 4th. It is valid through the end of the month. A reminder email came on my birthday.

Julep- A unique code for a free nail polish. It works with any purchase, even a single nail polish making the order cost nothing. This arrives on your birthday and is valid through the end of the year.

Kohl’s A unique code for $5 off a $5 purchase. It arrived on the first day of the month and was valid though the end of the month.

L’Occitane- A unique code for a deluxe Divine Cream in a birthday box and free shipping with any $6 purchase. Present the email to pick up the gift in person and get a free mini facial. It arrived on the first day of my birth month and was valid through the end of the month.

La Mer- Free deluxe The Treatment Lotion with any purchase. Code was MARCHBDAY18, which looks generic for March. It arrived on my birthday and was valid for 30 days. An offer for a deluxe Creme de la Mer using the same code arrived on the 30th. My guess is the gift rotates each month, and the first March gift ran out.

Lancome- A unique code for 15% off a $49 purchase. The code was sent the day before my birthday without an expiration date. It still works many months later.

Laura Geller- 150 Geller Girl points. Credited on my birthday.

Laura Mercier- A unique code for $25 off a $75 purchase. It arrived on the 4th and was valid through the end of the year.

Lovely Skin- A $5 eRewards certificate added to your online account. It arrived on the first day of my birth month and was valid through the end of the month.

MAC Cosmetics- The free gift changes every month and is valid in store or online with any purchase. It automatically populates in your account on the first and is valid through the end of the month. Use your email address to redeem it in store or click on your account to redeem it online.

Macy’s- There is an offer for 2018 according to customer service, but they cannot tell me what it is. In the past, it was a unique coupon for free shipping on any order and a free brow wax at the Benefit Brow Bar. I never unsubscribed from Macy’s email so not getting the 2018 makes me wonder what is going on.

Mario Badescu- $10 off a $10 purchase. The code was unique. It arrived on my birthday and was valid for 45 days.

Michaels- An in-store coupon for 50% off one regular priced item. It was emailed on the first day of my birth month and was valid through my birthday.

Neiman Marcus Last Call- A unique code for $10 off with a $50 purchase. It arrived on the 2nd and was valid through the end of the month.

Paula’s Choice- A unique link to select from three free full-size products with a $50 purchase. It was emailed on my birthday and valid for one month.

This gift is completely free to all beauty insiders if you pick it up in person (Bumble and bumble is online only). You should be able to add this to your online cart automatically within two weeks of your birthday either way. You have to make a purchase to get the offer online. If you’re within two weeks of your birthday and the offer is not loading, call Sephora. I reviewed the Bite gift and the GLAMGLOW gift.

Shop Your Way- $10 in FREECASH points. It was emailed a week before my birthday and points are valid for 7 days once activated.

Swagbucks- A link to activate a 55 Points Called SB Bonus when you redeem for a gift card. The link is sent on your actual birthday. If you purchase a gift card within 30 days of your birthday, you will receive the 55 bonus points.

A coupon for redemption is emailed on the 1st day of the month and is valid through the end of the month. No purchase is required (but a prior purchase is required to activate the offer so it will not work on brand new accounts). The offer for 2018 is changing each quarter. This offer is for birthdays from January through March 2018. You must pick it up in person. Platinum and Diamond members will also get a $10 coupon (that has no minimum spend). Ulta also offers 2x points to all members during your birth month. I redeemed this gift.

Urban Decay- A free full-sized AfterGlow 8-hour Powder Highlighter in Sin with a full-price purchase for all Beauty Junkies, which populates into your online account by your birthday. It expires 30 days after your birthday. You must be logged into your Beauty Junkie account for the offer to appear. There is no code for this. If you are not already a member, sign up before your birthday. I redeemed this gift.

Walgreens- 10x Everyday Points (must be activated) on every purchase all month long. It arrived on the 1st and was valid through the end of the month.

YSL- A unique code for a free full-size Mascara Volume Effet Faux CILS Baby Doll with a $75 purchase. It arrived the day before my birthday. There is no expiration date listed, and past codes have worked long after they were issued.

Thanks! I will continue to update it as I learn of more. I am about to add Estee Lauder right now, actually.

The bareMinerals gift that I got (Jan. 2017) was an eyeshadow in cashmere.

Awesome. I will not update the offers for 2017 until after I receive mine in March, but I will leave your comment up for anyone with an earlier birthday. Happy belated birthday.

MAC no longer offers an anniversary gift with free membership, right?

I am on the MAC free membership. Even though I did not write an article (was on a blogging break most of last year), I redeemed the anniversary gift. My anniversary has not come for 2018 yet so I can only confirm it was valid through 2017. I update all of the gifts when I receive the new offer or can confirm the offer no longer exists.

When I signed up for an account with NARS, there was nowhere to put in my birthday. Do you know if they still do this promotion? thanks

I just logged into my account, and it looks like my birthday has been removed. Unless I receive a new offer this year, I assume NARS no longer offers birthday gifts. Thanks for the heads up. I will remove it from the list.

I’ve never purchased directly from Smashbox so I am unsure what its birthday offer is. It has actually been a couple of years since I even purchased a Smashbox item from Ulta or Sephora but those new Vlada Highlighters are tempting me.
