Our Place Review 2020
Our Place Review 2020
By Kimberly
I’m here to bring you my Our Place Review 2020. After reading my Our Place Always Pan Review, Our Place reached out to see if I’d be willing to write another review. Because my husband was still enjoying the pan, and I was still enjoying the glasses, I was happy to oblige. Our Place graciously offered to send more free products for me test. As I had already considered purchasing the bowls the plates, it made sense to select those. I did not accept payment for this review, nor have I ever accepted payment for any review. Now, I can review the Dinner For 4 Essentials Collection.
Our Place Always Pan Review Promo Codes
I was given a new promo code for this review. That promo code is KIMBERLY10. It gives $10 off your purchase. For the time being, I’ve tested the promo code I was given when I wrote my first review. That one still works for now, but I do not know how long it will work. You can get 15% off your first Our Place order with the code KIMBERLY15. Use whichever works best for your order, assuming the older one has not expired by the time you happen upon this article.
About the Our Place Dinner For 4 Essentials Collection
The Our Place Dinner For 4 Essentials Collection includes the Always Pan, the Drinking Glasses, the Side Bowls, and the Main Plates. It retails for $250, which gives a $40 discount over buying the pieces individually. While the offer does not combine with promo codes, you can test codes to see if an active one gives you a better deal. As long as the 15% off code works, that is a better deal. Clearly the $10 off code is not.
Now that I own all the pieces in this set, I can officially swear by and recommend all of them. Not only are they beautiful, but they are extremely functional. View the Our Place Always Pan Review for photos of the new pan and glasses. Adding them here would be redundant. I will show them in use below though. My main goal is to go over the new items while touching upon the collection.
Our Place Always Pan Review
The Our Place Always Pan retails for $145. View the Our Place Always Pan Review for my complete thoughts, but I will briefly mention here that my husband does enjoy this very functional pan. It is an extremely capable pan that he is able to cook a lot of dishes in. You cannot place this pan in the oven, so that is its one limitation. This pan cleans up so easily though, given its non stick ceramic surface. One cannot clean a pan that efficiently with a pan that goes into the oven. The 8-in-1 pan comes with a spatula that nests perfectly in the handle and a removable steaming basket.
Here is an example of the spatula resting perfectly in the handle while the pan heats up. I am not much of a cook, but this is one of my favorite things about this pan.
You can actually see how nothing sticks to the pan, even as it is cooking. Everything is constantly in motion. This makes for easier cleanup and evenly cooked food. Heat is constantly distributed equally, because nothing is sticking to the hottest part of the pan.
Even when you add on something full of starch, the pan takes and cooks it in stride without sticking, as long as you have enough moisture in your base.
The end result, with the help of a talented cook, is delicious food. While I would love to say I could do this, I enlisted the help of my husband. He is the cook in our family. I am the one who burns toast. If you are curious to see what dish this is, scroll down to the plate review.
Our Place Drinking Glasses Review
The Our Place Drinking Glasses retails for $50. This is for a set of 4. View the Our Place Always Pan Review for my complete thoughts, but I will briefly mention here that I love these glasses. Not only are they beautiful and extremely well made, but they are the perfect size for so many things. These are now my husband’s preferred cocktail glasses, because he likes the size and shape. We let my younger son have a glass of Pepsi each day, and he drinks less since we switched to these smaller glasses. I pretty much only drink water, but I also limit myself to one glass of whatever I’m drinking for portion control. Of course, I do not drink alcohol, so my husband’s drinks are not for me.
For this drink, my husband created a variation of the Revolver with a twist on the Old Fashioned. It includes: bourbon, cold brew coffee, angostura bitters, and simple syrup. He garnished it with a lemon twist and a mint leaf.
Our Place Side Bowls Review
Now that I’ve covered the items I’ve reviewed before, it’s time to get to the items that are new to my Our Place Dinner For 4 Essentials Collection.
The Our Place Side Bowls retail for $45. This is a set of 4 ceramic bowls. Even though Our Place refers to them as Soup and side bowls, they are big enough for other things. At 6″ in diameter and 2.75″ in depth, they are great for other things as well. Some of my favorite things fit nicely inside, like cereal and ice cream. Those items were not worthy of a photo given my husband’s talents, but they are the extent of my kitchen skills.
The bowls are microwave and dishwasher safe. They come in Spice, Steam, and Char. I selected Steam, which is a light gray. This was done, so I could have some contrast with the plates. As much as I would love to have Spice, the pink/salmon color in a house full of boys would not fly.
The bowls are beautiful, and well made. Like the other items in this collection, they are high quality. What’s funny about the bowls is my husband was trying to make something other than a soup or a side to feature in them, but the ingredient he needed was sold out at the store on both trips. Thanks Coronavirus. Without further adieu, I present only what the bowls are listed for and nothing more.
Our Place Side Bowls In Action
My husband made some roasted mushrooms on the side of his main dish. Because he made a lot and did not want them rolling off his plate, as mushrooms tend to do when you eat on the couch, he used this stunning bowl.
The soup is a made-up concoction that does not follow a recipe. It has scallions, leeks, shallots, garlic, olive oil, canola oil, carrots, chicken stock, miso paste, fish sauce, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, egg, and apple cider vinegar.
I have to say it was quite delicious. Had I seen the ingredients before tasting it, I might have been skeptical. Everything blended together nicely though.
Our Place Main Plates Review
The Our Place Main Plates retail for $50. This is a set of 4 ceramic plates. Not only are the lips on these plates beautiful, but they are functional. They really help things stay on the plate. My husband’s mushrooms might have even stood a chance on this plate, but then we would not have had an extra side for the “side” bowl.
The 9.75″ diameter plates are the perfect size for dinner entrees, unless you eat nothing like my 8-year-old. For regular people though, this is a great size.
The stackable plates are microwave and dishwasher safe. They come in Spice, Steam, and Char. I selected Char, which is a dark gray. This was done, so I could have some contrast with the bowl. What I did not know at the time is it also contrasts the Char on the pan quite a bit. It leaves me with a beautiful collection in different shades of gray.
The plates are beautiful, and well made. Like the other items in this collection, they are high quality. As one would expect, we use the plates more than any other item in the collection. Because of that, I had a lot I could have shared with you of the plates in action. I let my husband pick his favorites.
Our Place Main Plates In Action
As promised above, I am ready to share the item my husband cooked in the Our Place Always Pan above, then presented on the Our Place Main Plate.
It is Fettuccine tossed in a tomato sauce with caramelized shallots, garlic, and parsley.
This dish is fried chicken drumsticks with micro greens, parmesan potatoes, and pomegranate arils.
It tasted as good as it looks.
The New York Strip with micro greens, dill, carrots, and roasted potatoes was mixed with regular and purple potatos. It was interesting to eat a green and purple potato. I felt like I was in a Dr. Seuss version of Sam I Am.
As odd as it looked, which the bright kitchen lights did not quite catch anyway, it was delicious. Of course, the steak was amazing. Have I mentioned that I love when my husband has kitchen stuff to test for me? Well, I do.
This is Kimchi Grilled Cheese. I do not eat spicy food, so I did not try this one. It was all my husband’s, who said he loved it.
You can bet I was hoping for a regular grilled cheese. Let’s just say it never came to pass. If you think I sound ungrateful, don’t worry. He’ll never read this.
He cooked this Eggs Benedict with micro greens while I was sleeping, so I never got to try this one either. I promise this is the last time I sound ungrateful. He is really good to me, and cooks a lot.
Even though this should go with the glasses, I am keeping the beautiful Benedicts together. See what I did there? Anyway, he made a breakfast cocktail composed of Campari, Cold Brew Coffee, and freshly squeezed orange juice.
This one is Chilean Sea Bass with Purple Potatoes, Micro Greens, Carrots, and Pomegranate Arils. You can actually see the purple potatoes here, but they’re mixed in that other picture, too.
I did not taste this one. Before you think I am already breaking my promise, I am not a huge fan of seafood. My husband liked this dish.
This is French Toast with mint leaves, raspberries, powdered sugar, and syrup. It was incredible.
Is the Our Place Dinner For 4 Essentials Collection Worth It?
I’d have to say yes. All the pieces are high quality and worth their price. My husband still thinks you can get a more versatile pan for $145, but he agrees with me that the other three items justify the price. He loves transferring pans from the stove top to the oven, and this one cannot go in the oven. With so many other pans that do go in the oven, he still finds plenty of use for this one. I catch him using it quite often, and I love that. It is a breeze to clean, unlike those oven safe pans he loves so much. Knowing that this company is an ethical one makes it even easier to recommend.
If you are only considering a piece or pieces of the set, I do not think you can go wrong with anything you choose. They are all wonderful. It would be easy to say my favorite is the pan, but I do not really cook. I love what my husband cooks for me in the pan, but I love what he cooks for me in any pan. The man can cook. My favorite thing about all the pieces is the way they look. Every single piece is stunning, including the pan. There is not a weak link in the collection in terms of beauty or function. All pieces are sturdy and well made. As much as I love the beauty in this collection, I think I would replace the pan before replacing the dishes though, assuming something happened to mine.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.
That new york strip meal looked to die forrrr. Yum yum yum!
