The Ulta Beauty 21 Days of Beauty 2020 Spring runs from March 15th through April 4th. Twice a year, usually starting in March and September, Ulta has a 21-day sale where select brands or items get discounted up to 50% off for one day only. Every day during the semi-annual event we get at least two beauty steals. There are also Hot Buys that run throughout the Ulta Beauty 21 Days of Beauty 2020 Spring Sale. This 21-day sale is Ulta’s biggest event of the year! Sephora is price matching select items in this event on the same days in the Sephora Oh Snap! Sale 2020.

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Spring 2020 Beauty Steal Repeats Within the Past Year

There are 42 repeats from Beauty Steals of three major events within the past year. The Spring 2019 Ulta 21 Days of Beauty, Fall 2019 Ulta 21 Days of Beauty, and Winter 2020 Ulta Love Your Skin Event all had steals that are represented in this event. Only the Spring 2019 Ulta Gorgeous Hair Event and Fall 2019 Gorgeous Hair Event steals were excluded, because we do not have any hair related beauty steals (other than the blowout, which could make its first appearance in an upcoming Gorgeous Hair Event).

Ulta generally repeats a lot of steals from past events, which is great for those who use the events to stock up on beloved products. It is not so great for those who hope to discover new things or hope their loves will join the event. If you wanted an item from a past event that did not pop up for this event, there is still a chance it will appear again in a future event.

Unless you are Bronze with points that are about to expire, resist the urge to redeem points in any increment other than 2000. You are not getting maximum value on your points when you do that. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

I really love this pencil when I want a natural look. It helps me draw fine hair-like strokes.

MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

I find this formula very lightweight and natural. It blends seamlessly into my skin and does not feel heavy or cakey. My dry skin does not feel parched or look overly flakey. While I can wear this on its own, I prefer to wear it over liquid foundation (due to my dry skin).

Lancôme La Base Pro Oil Free Primer

The primer blurs everything and does not dry out my skin at all. This is actually a really good primer, but I never purchase it. It is just too easy to get free samples of this.

bareMinerals Mineral Veil Powders

This really is a lightweight, nice setting powder. I get into a rut and rarely grab this. People with oily skin might want something heavier, but this is great for dry to normal skin.

Ofra Cosmetics Highlighters

The Ofra highlighters I’ve tried so far are beautiful and live up to the hype. They give my skin a wet glow without giving it too much appearance of texture.

Benefit Cosmetics BADgal Bang! Mascara

It gives volume, but it also clumps lashes together no matter how carefully I apply it. I only like it when I apply a single coat, but doing it that way sacrifices a lot of volume. This was the Ulta Birthday Gift February 2020, so I decided to give it a second chance. You can see my Ulta 2020 birthday gift review and my original review for photos.

philosophy Renewed Hope In A Jar SPF 30

It is too lightweight to moisturize my dry skin, but I can see how someone with normal skin would like this.

tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer

There are some redeeming qualities tot this. It is very full-coverage. My under eye circles rarely require that much coverage. If you set it quickly, it does not crease that much. Without a doubt, that is my favorite thing about this. No concealer I’ve ever used dries out my under eyes more than this. When your under eyes are already dry, this is almost unbearable. No matter how good it looks, it feels awful. Yes, it can look a little cakey up close, but it looks beautiful from far away.

Benefit Cosmetics

Spending $50 to get a free brow wax (now worth $21) is something I’ve done many times during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty. I have had my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar a lot. Other than one bad experience where my usual brow specialist must have confused me with someone else and took my brows a little too thin, I have always been happy with the result. It took almost two years to regain the fullness she took away at that appointment so my trips to the brow bar slowed down drastically as I grew them back. At every other visit, they are always almost perfectly shaped thanks to the guidelines they use.

Benefit is a cutesy brand, but it has many products I love, especially for brows. Gimme Brow is my favorite Brow Gel, and I say that knowing how much I love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. There are many other items I love like: Hoola, The Porefessional, Watt’s Up, High Beam, That Gal (but the price per ounce is outrageous), Big Easy, all the tints, and Majorette. All of the boxed blushes are nice, but my shade recommendation would depend on your skin tone and preference.

I loathe Dew the Hoola (ugly mustard yellow shade), They’re Real eyeliner (at least partly due to user error), and They’re Real mascara (too wet for my hooded eyes). Everything else I’ve tried falls somewhere in the middle, including the Bad Gal Bang mascara. I love the volume, but even with one coat, it is a little clumpy. Granted, I have not tried everything so feel free to ask me below if you want advice on something specific.

Too Faced Bronzers

I’ve never tried a Too Faced bronzer that did not apply well. They all seem to glide on beautifully. That said, a lot of their older bronzers were more orange than bronze on me. It did not suit me well at all. While I definitely speak for the quality, swatch the shade before selecting it. Milk chocolate on paper should suit me well, but chocolate looks so much better.

Clarisonic Brush Heads 2 pack

If you have a Clarisonic, getting a 2 pack of brush heads for 50% off is a great time to buy them. Though I have seen them for less around Black Friday, this is usually the best deal you can find. Purchasing a set will always give you a discount off each brush but even large sets rarely reach 50% off and you have to purchase a lot to get the deal.

The Clarisonic is too rough for me to use more than 2-3 times a week, so I do not need to replace my brushes as much as someone who uses it twice a day. There are times when I skip an entire week, because I also own a FOREO, physical exfoliants, and chemical exfoliants. Over exfoliating is not good for most people, but it is especially true for my skin.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primers

While they are not my favorite eyeshadow primers (NARS and LORAC are), I have liked every Urban Decay primer I’ve tried. The anti-aging is probably my favorite. I seem to get the least amount of creasing with that. When I wait a couple of minutes between applying the primer and a light shade or setting powder before applying eyeshadows, I get a crease free application and easy blending (depending on the eyeshadow palette).

skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels

When I apply these on a regular day, I notice almost no difference at all. If I apply them when I have really puffy eyes, particularly after crying, they really work. Due to their incredible ability to help me hide the results of crying, these are a FabuFind. Placing them in the fridge for an hour before use also makes them feel very refreshing.

boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask

This hurts like hell to remove. It is by far the most painful peel off mask I’ve ever tried. If you’re into pain, buy it. On the bright side, it will pull all your peach fuzz out with whatever is stuck in your skin. Your skin will be red for a bit, but nothing will escape its death grip. Everything will get sucked into the black hole and pulled into the abyss.

juice BEAUTY STEM CELLULAR Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer

This has a a unique smell that takes some time to get used to. It almost smells like fruit, but not in a good way. The cream is moderately thick, so I find it moisturizing enough in warmer months. My dry skin needs something richer in the colder months.

Lipstick Queen

I love the formula on Lipstick Queen formulas in general. They are very moisturizing and extremely comfortable. Some formulas even feel closer to lip balm than lipstick. The shade shifters are a lot of fun, but the color you will get is hard to predict and varies depending on who applies it.

Perricone MD Vitamin C Ester Brightening Amine Face Lift

I have an article dedicated to this product. My skin looks brighter and has a more even tone. It did not do much to lighten my sun spot, but nothing really seems to anymore. The brightening effect this provides is immediate. Your skin immediately glows every time you put it on. This is very hydrating. Skin also looks less texturized after continued use, so it definitely smooths.

The smooth appearance took well over a month to notice. I did not notice much improvement with firmness, but I am probably a few years away from being able to provide a better review on that front. For those who want to see if this firms, I would filter the reviewers and read what those over 40 think.

Lancôme Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Serum

This is my all time favorite serum. It is an activating serum, so it helps others boost or works fine on its own. My skin glows when I use it, so I see it working.

it Brushes for Ulta Powder Foundation Brushes

I have yet to find an It Brushes for Ulta I do not love. All the ones I own are soft, do not shed, and work great for whatever I’ve purchased them for. Getting them for 50% off is amazing. They really are worth the full price but get discounted so often that I always recommend waiting.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

These work fine, but I really dislike the smell. For 50% off, I’d say grab them. At full price, I would get a different peel.

dr. brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant

When it comes to exfoliation, I have a hard time settling on a single chemical or physical one. I see the benefits of both and truly believe the best exfoliation routine combines them. With this, I get chemical and physical exfoliation in one. ALA and rounded aluminum oxide crystals work together. It is so gentle that my skin never gets irritated. I do like the luminous version of this better, because it provides more glow and moisture for my skin whilst still refining my pores. While I would purchase that one over this one, I have dry skin. Someone with normal to oily skin or with a lot of pores to cover would probably prefer this one. It does am even better job making pores looked refined.

PUR 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation SPF 15

I do not like wearing powder foundation, because I have dry skin. This is one I can apply without a liquid foundation under it without drying out my skin. It can illuminate dry patches, so I pat it in instead of buffing it in (as it suggests).

Buxom Full On Plumping Lip Cream

I really like this product. It is a gloss that is not glossy or sticky. My lips look more plump but do not feel uncomfortable when I wear it. They feel more hydrated with this one than when my lips are bare. The pigmentation is nice.

Urban Decay Naked Reloaded Palette

I own all of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. This one would rank somewhere in the middle. As someone who likes the Naked palettes, I think this is worth the $44 I paid. It is definitely worth $22. Whenever I need a dark brown, I frequently grab this palette. I has one of my favorite dark brown shades. The picture below shows that brown in the outer corner. Some of the other shades are from the palette as well. If you own a lot of neutral palettes, you can pass on this.

I like this powder. It is translucent and sets nicely into the skin. If you have oily skin and want a powder from this event, I would suggest this one.

I adore this product, so I’ve named it a FabuFind. If I could only choose one brow product, it would be this. It is so easy to apply and makes a huge difference really quickly. Whether applying this alone for a boost or on top of anything else for a more glam work, it works well.

it Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Hydrating Moisturizer

This was the Ulta Birthday Gift March 2019 and I enjoyed it. The cream is somewhat thick. It is not so thick that it takes forever to work into the skin or fails to fully absorb. While it does not feel heavy on my skin, it does hydrate very deeply. That is all I really expect from my moisturizer, so I think this is a great one for me. My skin feels a little tacky for a while afterward, but that never bothers me.

What Advice is there for the 21 Days of Beauty?

I highly recommend studying the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty online brochure, because it lists all products (including items added after the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty catalog gets printed and items that are available online only). UltaMate members should also get a physical copy in the mail (that includes items for sale in-store and online). It is a good idea to plan your purchases ahead of time so you are ready to strike the moment the Ulta Beauty steals release.

Ulta Beauty runs on Central time so Ulta Beauty 21 Days of Beauty daily steals are available right at 10pm PST. That usually means steals from the previous day disappear right at 10pm PST. If you’re up past 10pm PST, that is the best time to order (unless you’re waiting to see if a Beauty Break or new gift with purchase releases in the morning). While the deals have run a little over, Ulta usually cuts them off right on time. The best deals are usually gone when you wake up in the morning from people who started shopping right as the day switched over so plan strategically. Waiting for the Beauty Break or another GWP announcement with popular steals will usually backfire.

What are the Rules for the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Steals?

Ulta says each person can only purchase two of each steal during the 21 Days of Beauty. Placing multiple online orders (if the system prevents you from adding more than 2 of one item in a single order) or picking up in person usually gets around the limit. Although I’ve only ever received two at a time, I’ve missed out on Too Faced Sweethearts Blush and tarte Bronzer on days I saw multiple people buying more than two.

Some stores may hold customers to the limit, but my store clearly does not. The most important rule is Ulta Beauty Steals in the 21 Days of Beauty are 24 hours only and while supplies last. If they sell out in 10 minutes, that is it. You will not get a rain check and can only hope the deal you missed will repeat in the next event. Many deals repeat but plenty do not.
