Sephora Beauty Insider Sweeps January 23rd through January 31st

By Kimberly

There is hosting yet another chance to dump points (win money) via the Sephora Beauty Insider Sweeps running from January 23rd through January 31st. This one gives away $25,000 a day for 9 days. Each of the 9 winners will be drawn and notified on February 21st. I am not even hating on those who choose to take part. Sephora even got me twice last year. Just like the lottery, someone has to win, so this will be fruitful for the winners.

2020 Sephora Sales Calendar

I have one timeline where I list all major: Promotions, Sales, Deals, GWP, Promo Codes, and Events. Those who want to see an overall idea of what to expect this year should stop by. See where this 2020 Sephora Beauty Insider Sweeps event lines up with others on the calendar. You can also visit my Sephora retailer page to see active and upcoming offers of all types.

Yes, the points spent are worth it for the winner, but the losers, and there will be a lot, only help Sephora remove points from their books. As that would improve Sephora’s balance sheets, it is a no-brainer for Sephora. But, why should Beauty Insiders dump hard earned points into a contest where the odds of winning are likely incredibly slim? Of course, we cannot know the odds until entires are tabulated, but Sephora never would have hosted this if it did not expect at least 500,000 points to get redeemed. Anything redeemed over that lets them get 100 points off the books for less than $1. Overall, it will make the finance department happy.

The promotion starts today, January 23rd and runs through January 31st. It costs 150 Beauty Insider points for 1 entry. Barring using older points (because point multipliers have not happened since May of last year), Rouge members will have spent $100 per entry, VIB members $125 per entry, Beauty Insider members $150 per entry. I’m not entering, but I have in the past so no judgement for those who do. After all, it’s a fool’s bet, and I am not much of a gambler, even though I play some mean poker. I prefer giveaways or contests where you enter for free. If you lose, you walk away with nothing. No regret, because you tried without spending money or points to get there.

†NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES (D.C.) & CANADA 18 YEARS OR OLDER WHO ARE SEPHORA BEAUTY INSIDER MEMBERS. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. Sweepstakes ends 1/31/2020. For Official Rules, alternate method of entry, prize descriptions, and odds disclosure, visit If Canadian resident, mathematical-skill-testing question to be correctly answered in order to win. Nine prizes (up to $25,000 USD each) available to be won. Sponsor: Sephora USA, Inc., 525 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94105, U.S.A.

So, why am I writing this article when I am telling you not to enter? It just furthers my theory that Sephora is trying to get users to dump points, which I discuss in What is in Store For the Sephora Rewards Program in 2020. In that article, I go over theories that the rewards program might change. If true, it could explain why so many perks are getting cut and why Sephora is trying to get members to dump points. That coupled with the rewards Sephora is taking away, which I discuss in Updates to the Sephora Rewards Program 2020, show that the future of the rewards program is uncertain.

My giveaway is free to enter for those who want a chance to win something without dumping any points. It runs through February 6th. If you know anyone who could benefit from this information, please use the sharing tools below to help them see this on various forms of social media or private email.
