FabFitFun Winter 2019 Starter Box 18 and Referral Mini Box GWP Review

See FabFitFun Starter Box 2020

This is the Winter 2019 FabFitFun Starter Box review for box 18. It is also the mini box people received for referring people at the end of November. There have been a lot of variations this year, and this is the seventh I am covering. What makes this one special is it is mine! The others I’ve shared belonged to the person I sent the starter box to. I got this one for referring someone on my seasonal account and have another one on its way for referring someone on my annual account. Some people have reported recently receiving Box 17, which no one I sent boxes to received. Thus, I did not cover that one. Rumor has it that some are getting box 20, but I have not seen spoilers for that or heard anything at all about box 19.

I do not have any starter boxes, but I will update this if that changes. Keep reading to see what you might get or to get some questions answered if you’ve received an invitation elsewhere. If you want to read about the starter box policy or how it works, view my last Starter Box article. van though people receiving starter boxes now are still getting this one, I did not receive it as a starter box. As such, I will just review it without the spiel.

FabFitFun Winter 2019 Starter Box 18 and Referral Mini Box GWP November 2019 Overview

It comes with a magazine dedicated to the starter boxes.

There is a note from the editor.

It goes over some of the top rated products. I’ve received six of the eight pictured and love them all.

There is a two-page spread on the perks of membership.

There really are a lot of perks, so it is worth reading for new members.

There is a two-page spread on how the box is curated.

This has a lot of fluff and easily could be condensed into one page or omitted altogether.

The product card goes over the items inside the box, so the starter box magazines do not need to get printed as often.

Items come in a dedicated starter box design, which occasionally changes.

Items come on white crinkle cut paper.

FabFitFun Winter 2019 Starter Box 18 and Referral Mini Box GWP November 2019 Review

The FabFitFun Winter 2019 Starter Box 18 and Referral Mini Box GWP from November 2019 has a $162 value. Even though two are repeats to my collection, it looks like an amazing box.

This is my insight on the products. I have not tried any of these exact items yet, so this is not a traditional review.

The Yumi Kim WANDERLUST MAKEUP TRAVEL CASE, Hanging Train Case, retails for $58 ($50 per the Yumi Kim website). This was an option in the Spring 2019 Editor’s Box, and I almost ordered a third box to get it. Now, I am glad I did not. I’ve had similar bags before, but they’ve all broken. Because of that I’ve been reluctant to purchase a similar one. If this one works a while before breaking, I will be grateful. My beauty products sometimes leak, and it would be nice if the leak was contained to one compartment. Besides, it is easy to clean leaks from the plastic on these. Try saying the same thing for regular makeup bags. Of all the items in the box, this is the one I am most excited for.

I received the Yumi Kim Jetsetter Makeup Train Case Peri Floral in the Summer 2018 box. Although I’ve only traveled with it once and do not use it for my around the house bag, I love it. It still looks as great as it did when I first go it. That makes me think I either don’t use it enough or it is really well-made. This one will get more use, because the separate compartments are exactly what I want for bath products. The original is my makeup bag, and I do not even take makeup on every trip.

The full-size 2.29oz Grown Alchemist Hydra-Repair Day Cream Camellia & Geranium Blossom retails for $49. This is the moisturizer my husband is using, because it came in his Summer 2019 Men’s Box. My husband says it is just right for his skin, whatever that means. He is not the best at reviewing things. I also have one of these from Fall 2018 Box, that I will eventually get to if he does not steal that now that I have more.

The Spongelle body wash infused buffer in Black Orchid retails for $16. Even though I have not used this specific scent, I have tried a Spongelle before. I find it a little more abrasive than I typically like. That would not rule me out from trying one again, because each fragrance could be different. This one smells amazing, as did the one I used before. It does cut down on shower time, because the product is ready to go for many uses.

The full-size 4.2oz Moroccan Gold Series Leave-In Mask retails for $39 (Amazon price may vary). I purchased this in the FabFitFun Winter 2018/2019 Edit Sale, but I have not tried it yet. Every time I wash my hair, I use a leave-in conditioner to add moisture, reduce frizz, and help me brush through hair that tangles easily. This intrigued me then and it still does. Hopefully, it works as well as people say, because it has great reviews.

Is the FabFitFun Winter 2019 Starter Box 18 and Referral Mini Box GWP November 2019 Worth It?

For those who got this as a referral gift, it is obvious. Free gifts are always worth it, even if you gift all the items. People who paid $5 to get this as a starter box will probably be happy with it as well. If I saw this available for purchase at $5, I would probably order at least 20. I am keeping everything from my first box, so my personal value is $162. Should the next box have the same contents, I might not keep the duplicate bag. Then again, keeping it in case the first one breaks would be a good idea. Keeping duplicates of the other items will depend on how much I like the items as I try them.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.

  1. I referred my mom with this code and she got the mini box. Am I wrong in thinking that I as the person who referred her would also get the mini box? The referral was done on 12/2 and her boxes came on 12/14. Im

  2. Originally, FabFitFun said it would mail the referral boxes with the spring boxes for anyone who referred someone after their Winter Box was processed. Those placing orders sooner are reporting that they are getting their boxes mailed earlier. If you do not get your box with the spring box, you can call and ask for one.
