I’m here to bring you my 111Skin Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask review. At $32 for a single sheet mask, this is the most expensive one I’ve ever tried. Prior to this, my most expensive was $25. In that article, I go over my thoughts and feelings on the cheap versus expensive masks. As I’ve already done that, I will stick to just reviewing the product I tested in this one.
I will mention that I did not spend $32 for this mask, nor did I spend an additional $32 for the second one I tried. One came in my Summer 2019 FabFitFun Box, and the other came in the mystery GWP I got for adding an extra FabFitFun Fall 2019 Subscription Box. Since each product in a FabFitFun box is about $6, and I got 5 masks, the first one I tried only cost me a little over $1. That is drugstore pricing. While I am giving away the 4 extra I received in the Summer Box, I am keeping all 5 of the bonus ones I got. The second one I tried was free.
Of course, I have to show you a picture of what my skin looked like before I applied the mask. I have naturally dry skin, so my face always looks really matte before I add moisture.
This is a gel mask, which is extremely wet. I had difficulty removing the first one, so you can see the punctures in the forehead where my fingernails snagged it. There is a learning curve on removing it, because I got it out with no damage the second time I tried it. The shape of the mask is a little odd. It has small eye holes, a large nose piece, and is extremely wide. Because of this, I had a hard time getting a good fit. Despite the odd fit, it did not move much once it is on. That is rare for a gel mask. Most gel masks I’ve tried slip and slide. If it was not for how cooling and relaxing they are, I would give up on them. Thankfully, this gives the cooling and relaxing feeling without slipping, so it is the best of both worlds.
While it is not the most moisturizing mask I’ve tried, it gives an incredible glow to the skin. This would be my mask of choice on a no makeup day where I want to shine. It gives enough hydration that I still feel the effects as I am washing my face. It definitely made my skin feel pampered and delivered on the brightening promise. If it provides long-term brightening with many uses, I would never know. As much as I love this, $32 a mask is just too rich for my blood.
I’m really glad I had the chance to try this. Testing expensive products I would never purchase is the best part of subscription boxes. If I could afford this without wincing, I would buy it. Until then, I will stick with much cheaper masks.
