Ulta Beautyfest 2019 Review November 16th Through 17th

Ulta hosted its first ever Beautyfest today. It is a new event for 2019 that takes place November 16th and November 17th, so people who missed the event today can still attend tomorrow. The question is do you want to attend? Is it worth your time? I do not like crowds or getting up early, so I went later in the day. By the time I arrived, the festivities were pretty much over. There was barely any evidence of the event at all other than a sign on the door and one sign near a display. Since this was advertised as a full day event, that was discouraging.

The stores were scheduled to open an hour early and the first 100 people in line for each store were supposed to get a special treat.

It seems stores were late and most people only received a $5 coupon as their gift. I did read one from a person who received $100 though.

It mentioned there were chances to win a $2000 shopping spree, holiday travel, and beauty services galore. What it failed to mention is the circle needed to take the photo to enter the sweepstakes was only on the ground for the first hour of the day. While I could go back to take my picture with it tomorrow, it does not seem worth it to me. I’d rather sleep in.

While I did see paper entries in the boxes underneath the sign for Beautyfest, the cashier assured me using the hashtag #beautyfest and #sweepstakes on Twitter or Instagram was the only way to enter.

So, my trip to the store today was almost a complete waste. I say almost, because I did spend over $40. Those who arrived after the hour was up and sent less than $40 walked away with nothing.

I got the coupon Ulta promised with a $40 purchase. It has a unique code and has the same minimal exclusions as the prestige coupon.

It gives $10 off a $50 purchase and is valid from November 18th through the 24th. Even though there is an overlapping event, which I will post about tomorrow, I am not going to use this. The first person to claim the code, 4K5UZ6FH5Y, can have it.
