Causebox Fall 2019 Review and a 20% Off Coupon Code

My Fall 2019 Causebox review is ready. Causebox includes a mix of: exclusive, ethically made products from a wide range of items. They are always full-sized, and the value of the box will always be over $200. There are 6-8 full size items in every box. Each item is cruelty free, vegan whenever possible, and always socially conscious. This is a quarterly subscription program. There is one box per season. Welcome boxes are usually available between seasons. Those who sign up between seasonal boxes will get a welcome box.

Current members will not get a welcome box unless they start a second subscription or contact customer service and request one on their main account. This benefit is particularly helpful for annual members who want to customize. All products are taxed (except for Canadians). Annual subscriptions (4 boxes pre-paid up front with a $20 discount) are $199.80. The cost for the Seasonal subscription is $54.95 per box. Click here to get $10 off your first seasonal box. Membership is charged on the day the account is activated and on the 1st of the month in March, June, September, and December for subsequent seasons. Annual Subscribers get to make choices on some items. This is known as Causebox Custom. They will receive an email one week before the bill date with the options. Seasonal subscribers receive a random box.

Causebox Fall 2019 Subscription Box Overview

There are 7 full-size items, including the art print. That makes the cost of each item $7.85 (if you paid $54.95 for the box). Of course, the cost goes down for those who paid less. The candle and oil really help the fall theme of this box.

The box I received is really cute. There are a bunch of people and giraffes. It has a safari vibe. If is wasn’t for the Hollywood sign, I would have sworn the artist was depicting Africa.

Everything usually comes on top of white crinkle cut paper wrapped in white tissue, sealed with a sticker. There was no crinkle cut paper this time, but everything was packed nicely. It arrived in great condition (minus the outer box, which is a shame given how cute it is).

Each box comes with a magazine. It feels more like newspaper, so I am betting it’s recycled. I forgot to photograph this today, so I will add the photos tomorrow.

It comes with a note from the editor.

There are features for every product in the box.

It goes over some of the company initiatives.

It went over the introduction to the Causebox Market.

My favorite section is where we get the exclusive coupon codes.

Shipping

Boxes usually ship within two weeks of your order date. After they are shipped, it can take 2-8 businessss days for them to arrive. Shipping confirmations are emailed. Members were charged on September 1st or whenever they signed up. My box shipped on September 19th and arrived on September 25th. That was 24 days from payment to delivery.

Causebox Fall 2019 Review

Six of the seven items are the same in every box. The only difference is in color or pattern. One category did have two options. Depending on which one you received, it added either $30 or $45 in value to your box. That means everyone received $327 or $342 in value for the Fall 2019 Causebox. If you feel the $10 Art Print (post card) is there to overvalue the box, you might look at this as $317 or $332 in value for six full-size products.

Causebox Customization Options Fall 2019

Annual subscribers can pick one from each category if they make the selection during the customization window. Seasonal subscribers will receive one from each category at random.

Causebox Fall 2019 Customization 1: KNOWN SUPPLY Weekender Duffel ($108) in Lake Blue, Forest Green, or Stone Grey Stripe. *The Pike Weekender Bag (the only one I could find, thus the one I linked) retails for $98. Unless, this is bigger than the 22″ x 10″ x 11″ Pike, I question the pricing. Other than canvas versus pleather handles, these look the same.

I selected the grey stripe bag, because it looks more neutral. It is an extremely well made bag and easily the nicest of all the weekender bags I own. The inner zipper came off the track, but I had no problem getting it back into place.

There is nice brass hardware and an adjustable shoulder strap. Because the bag is not too feminine (as some of my other weekender bags are), my boys can use this. Now, I just need to find somewhere to send them for a weekend, and I can see how the bag holds up.

Causebox Fall 2019 Customization 2: Nashelle Heather Drop Lariat ($38) in Gold or Silver.

I am not opposed to silver, because I have cool overtones. However, I selected the gold necklace, because gold looks better with my warm undertones. Jewelry is not something I wear often, but I like receiving pieces in boxes. It gives me a few different options for the rare occasions when I wear it. This necklace is lovely, so I might even wear it more than I do most of my other ones.

Causebox Fall 2019 Customization 3: Glass Ladder & Co Terrazzo Travel Wallet ($45), or Underwood Letterpress Felt Letter Board ($30).

I really wanted both of these and neither at the same time. Yes, that is confusing, but stay with me for a minute. FabFitFun had a letter board in its summer box, and I picked it up. Thus, I already had a letter board.

When I wrote my first message on the other board, I had to get creative to make some letters. There just weren’t enough. Even though I do not have a passport holder, I have my eyes on one. If I got this, I probably would not buy that one before my next international trip.

Ultimately, I decided I want to have more letters, so I selected the letter board. This also gives me a background option, because it is gray where the FabFitFun one is black. I also have two if I want each kid to hold one for a photo or hang them in different spaces.

Causebox Stationary Items Fall 2019

The LA BEAUTÉ SOI x Causebox 10-PIECE MAKEUP BRUSH COLLECTION retails for $24.

I have so many makeup brushes. Because I do not wash brushes as often as I should (and only use clean brushes), I never mind getting more. These are pretty soft and feel really luxe.

It surprises me, because 10 brushes and a carrier for $24 is a great deal (if they’re good). That is just over $2 a brush or less depending on how much value you assign to the case. We’ll see how it goes once I try them.

Lucky for me, my nieces take any brushes I do not like. So, someone will enjoy these even if I never reach for them.

The LA LUEUR CANDLES White Cactus Coconut Wax Candle retails for $35.

This has a very Fall fragrance. It is also stunningly beautiful. I cannot wait to burn this.

The MALIN+GOETZ RECOVERY TREATMENT OIL retails for $82.

This comes in a beautiful blue glass bottle, which arrived in great shape thank to the conscientious wrapping from Causebox. My skin is dry, so I love trying new oils, especially when the weather gets cold. Our weather is about to shift.

The MINERVA GM 5″ X 7″ ART PRINT has a retail value of $10.

This is a mass-produced post card, so it is not worth more than $1.99 unless you choose to frame it.

Causebox Fall 2019 Subscription Box Overview

This box has a $327 value. I paid $49.95 plus tax (annual member). While I would never pay $10 for the post card and think it is hilarious that there is a value assigned at all, I think all the other items are wonderful. There was not an item in here that I will not keep, so my personal value is also $327. That brings the average box value for the year to $301.99. Those who ordered the spring box (or even the winter 2018 depending on the date they ordered and received it) will have a different value.

Was the Fall 2019 Causebox Subscription Box Worth It?

This box is definitely worth more than the $44.95 to $54.95 people would pay for it. The weekender bag alone makes it worth it, because I did not have one that looked like this. Having options is great when you have four family members, too. Getting a new oil for the cold weather is awesome, too. Now, I do not have to buy any more letters for my letter board, which I seriously considered doing. I do think the summer 2019 welcome box was the best (I’ve received), but this was a really nice one, too.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.

  1. I have been so tempted by this box and may finally cave. I don’t burn candles but I really really like the looks of the duffle. We had a house fire a year ago and lost most of our possessions so i have been grabbing sub boxes with items I need to replace which has been a fun silver lining, ha!

  2. I’m sorry about the fire. The best thing about full-size products you do not want is they make great gifts. You could keep the bag for yourself and gift the candle to someone else.
