Allure Beauty Box May 2019 Subscription Box Review – Get Your First Box for $10 and a Welcome Gift

I am here to bring you my Allure Beauty Box May 2019 review. Allure Beauty box sends 5-6 beauty samples for $15 plus tax a month. Shipping is free. Most items are deluxe, but there are times when 1-3 products are full-sized. Items are chosen by Allure editors so products can range from drugstore to high-end. There is no rewards program with this subscription, but you can refer people if your referral link works. Here’s hoping mine does, because you get a rotating gift if someone signs up using your link. Boxes usually ship in the third week of the month, and the charge for the box gets processed the day the box ships. New subscribers get charged the day they subscribe.

New Allure Beauty Box Subscriber Offers

If you are a new subscriber and there are boxes left in the month you subscribe, you will get a box from that month. When the month is sold-out, you will still be charged upon subscribing, but you will not get charged a second time when your first box ships the following month. New subscribers get $5 off their first box. They also get a welcome gift, which is a full-size Badgley Mischka Perfume ($115) for anyone who signs up in May. It was a full-size Juice Beauty Nutrient Moisturizer for the first part of May.

The welcome gift for June is a 0.5oz Sunday Riley C.E.O Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil.

Allure Beauty Box May 2019 Overview

There is a mini magazine inside the box that goes over all the products inside.

It gives a review from someone who has enjoyed the product, the cost to purchase the full size, and where to purchase it.

It also gives a promo code on some products to purchase directly from the brand, and you can see which ones in the photos.

My magazine shows four static products and two columns of options. I think this means everyone will receive the static four and we will get one of the options on the other two.

There were 11 possible products in the May 2019 Allure Beauty Box. The only one not listed are the frizz sheets which made an appearance in some boxes but not others. I’ve mentioned before that I think it is odd that the number is not the same, because it leaves people guessing. It also results in some people getting more than others.

The contents come with a plastic carrying case. This case is a lot better than the one that came with the March and April box, so I am glad to see they heard customer feedback.

While I never reached out to let them know my March bag arrived damaged, I figured they knew when my April items arrived outside of the bag.

Allure also sent me a Hello Fresh coupon, which I am attaching in case anyone wants it.

Allure Beauty Box May 2019 Review

There is variation between the boxes, but most boxes will look very similar to one another.

While I will use the $15 valuation for this product, I think it is grossly overestimated. Who would pay $15 for a half-full bottle when they can pay $12 for a full-one and get free products with it? I am disappointed in the company and Allure for this. Even though this is clearly a duplicate to my collection, I would be embarrassed to give this to someone (without an explanation). There is no way they would think I was not pawning off a used product on them given how much is missing from the container. As such, I will keep this one and give away my FFF one. If I did not receive this duplicate, I would not have given away my FFF one, so I am not counting this in my personal value.

I have not tried this product yet, but I have enjoyed other exfoliating powders enough to know I would like to try this. They are usually gentle without stripping the skin.

The full-size LARITZY Vibe Lip Gloss retails for $16. It does not list a size anywhere, but thus is large. This smells like cake batter. I like that it is not too sticky and look forward to seeing how it wears.

This is a sheer brown with peachy undertone, and I think it will look nice on my skin tone. Once I wear this, I will edit in a picture and review.

The full-size ModelCo EYELITES ST. BARTS retails for $12. This claims it dries almost instantly, but my swatch moved around before I even got a photograph. It did take some effort to remove it a few minutes later. Thus, I think it will stay once set but takes longer than it claims.

When I blend this rose-gold, copper shade out, it leaves behind a slight wash of color and some glitter. We’ll see how it works on the eyes.

The 0.47oz St. Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist is worth $5.22. I like the idea of a tanning mist (if it tans without clogging pores). It feels very refreshing and smells very tropical. My skin feels a little sticky, but it does not burn my eyes at all. Hopefully, my skin looks darker and it does not look splotchy.

The 0.27oz Amorepacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Creme is worth $23.82. My skin is dry, so I do not even mind getting two moisturizers in one box. Getting a sample this big from this brand is almost unheard of, so it is very redeeming for this box.

The 0.2oz LANEIGE Water Bank Moisture Cream is worth $4.38. As fun as it is to try expensive moisturizers, I like getting samples of affordable ones like this as well. If I enjoy this, I might purchase it. There is almost no way I would purchase the other one. So, this box gave me a fun one and a practical one. Both are products I have not tried, even though I have a tiny version of the other one floating around.

Was the May 2019 Allure Beauty Box Worth It?

Another month, another crappy variation. I got the frizz sheets instead of the Amore Pacific and I’m legit cranky about it. It seems like a lot of longer time subscribers are getting the worse variation.

Oh, no. I thought people were getting the frizz sheets on top of the Amorepacific as a bonus. That really stinks since it holds the most value.

I wrote to them and the said they’d send them, so we’ll see. I really miss Julep and picking exactly what I wanted! Maybe it’s time to try Boxy or Beauty Fix?
