Allure Beauty Box April 2019 Subscription Box Review – Get Your First Box for $10 and a Welcome Gift

I am here to bring you my Allure Beauty Box April 2019 review. Allure Beauty box sends 5-6 beauty samples for $15 plus tax a month. Shipping is free. Most items are deluxe, but there are times when 1-3 products are full-sized. Items are chosen by Allure editors so products can range from drugstore to high-end. There is no rewards program with this subscription, but you can refer people if your referral link works. Here’s hoping mine does, because you get a rotating gift if someone signs up using your link. Boxes usually ship in the third week of the month, and the charge for the box gets processed the day the box ships. New subscribers get charged the day they subscribe.

New Allure Beauty Box Subscriber Offers

If you are a new subscriber and there are boxes left in the month you subscribe, you will get a box from that month. When the month is sold-out, you will still be charged upon subscribing, but you will not get charged a second time when your first box ships the following month. New subscribers get $5 off their first box. They also get a welcome gift, which is a Mally Shadow Stick for anyone who signs up in April. The welcome gift for anyone who signs in May is a full-size Juice Beauty Nutrient Moisturizer.

Allure Beauty Box April 2019 Overview

There is a mini magazine inside the box that goes over all the products inside.

It gives a review from someone who has enjoyed the product, the cost to purchase the full size, and where to purchase it.

It also gives a promo code on some products to purchase directly from the brand, and you can see which ones in the photos.

My magazine shows eight products. I received 5 of them and one not listed in the magazine. It’s funny that the Sunday Riley products in my magazine are probably the ones I would have wanted the most. You win some, you lose some, I guess.

There were 14 possible products in the April 2019 Allure Beauty Box. With eight in my catalog and only receiving six, I wonder if I am missing any I should have received. After contacting customer service multiple times over issues with the last box, I do not even want to email them again. I was happy when I got everything from the catalog in my March 2019 Allure Beauty Box, because I assumed the magazine finally took the guesswork out of it. It disappoints me to see that was not the case. Allure really needs to do what other subscription boxes do. Include a card where subscribers know exactly what they are getting. Giving some people six products and others eight is confusing, but it would be less confusing if they understood why.

The contents come with a plastic carrying case. Last month, my items were inside the case. That made sense to me, because it prevents them from moving around too much during shipping.

The bag arrived intact this month, which was not the case last month. I do not even understand why they would send the bag if they are no longer using it to protect the items from moving during shipping. Since I know this bag rips easily, I would not use it. Knowing my luck, it would rip and send my makeup rolling down the street. Thus, I think Allure should return to putting the items inside during shipment until they run out of inventory then stop purchasing them. There are cheaper and more environmentally friendly ways to protect the products during shipping. Thankfully, all my items are intact.

Allure Beauty Box April 2019 Review

There is variation between the boxes, but most boxes will look very similar to one another.

This shade is inside the Sunset palette, so you could still get this and a bunch of other colors for “only” $102 more. It is a chroma crystal light copper (whatever that means). If I look at it in the light, I do see more copper than bronze. The metallic shimmer has a lot of micro fine glitter that is almost imperceptible indoors, but sparkles big time in the sunlight.

Once I wear this, I will edit in a picture and review.

I already own the full-size Nubian palette, so I am not keeping this cute baby version.

The colors look the same, so I will place it in my next giveaway. These swatches came from my original palette, so they may not look exactly the same as the baby palette from the Allure box.

I believe this palette is worth the hype it gets.

There is some fallout but they are extremely pigmented shades that are incredibly easy to blend. Each color stays vibrant and does not muddy with other shades.

Even without wetting the shimmers, they are bold and striking. Wetting them only takes them to the next level.

I had some very slight creasing in my eyelid fold at the end of the night. Other than that, this looked as beautiful just before I removed it as it did when I put it on many hours earlier. The colors are almost more beautiful on the eyes than they look in the pan. This is an amazing palette and is definitely one of the best in this price range.

The (unknown size) LASplash Art-Ki-Tekt Waterproof Slim Eyeliner retails for $14. Since the size is not listed on the product or the site, I am not 100% sure this is full-size. It looks like the full-size, so I am valuing it that way. I have hooded eyes and shaky hands. Slim eyeliners are my favorite. Hopefully, this one works out. Until I am ready to use it, I will not open it. Sorry for the lack of swatch.

Was the April 2019 Allure Beauty Box Worth It?

As soon as my current winner receives her products, I will start the next giveaway. You will have a shot to win it as long as you are entered. The giveaway should go up in about a week.

I’ve been looking at subscription boxes and I’m leaning towards Allure. I wish people had better things to say about their customer service though!

It’s not good. I’ve had issues every time I’ve subscribed. The box itself is worth the $15 (most months) though. This one is not as good as March, but easily worth more than $15 (to me).

I’m so disappointed this month- I have subbed through Allure for 2 years and got the weird Amazon version of the box without the lipstick and with a John Frieda hair sample. Next month is looking stupid, too! I am starting to consider changing subs.

I have mixed feelings about not getting the lipstick. On the one hand, it looks lovely. Since I’ve tried this brand of liquid lipstick recently (in a different color) and only find it okay, I am sure I would not have loved it anyway. Most liquid lipsticks are too drying. For the May box, I am hoping they change it up. They still have time, but the spoilers do not look promising.
