Sephora 2019 Birthday Gift Review, Milk Makeup – A VIB and Rouge Exclusive Offer

My Sephora Milk Makeup birthday gift review is ready. This is one of the two VIB and Rouge exclusives for the 2019 Sephora Birthday gifts. It is online only, so you will need to place an order to redeem this. I redeemed this on my account, so this is my official birthday present. Everyone with a Beauty Insider account gets a birthday gift offer, so sign up if you have not already. There is no purchase required to pick up a gift in store, but you must make a purchase to redeem it online. Stop by my Birthday Beauty Deals page (if you have a birthday coming soon), because other retailers have offers as well. 2019 Sephora Birthday Gift from Milk Makeup

Milk Makeup (VIB and Rouge Only) *Online only

  • 0.21 oz Cooling Water Under-Eye De-Puffer ($14)
  • 0.1 oz Kush High Volume Mascara ($9.23)

At $23.23, this birthday gift falls in the middle of the three tangible 2019 Sephora birthday gifts. Considering this is the only tangible VIB and Rouge exclusive gift, I think it should have the highest value. Value does not always help one decide which gift is best, but it worked out that way with Sephora this year. The gifts got better as the value increased. Now, that I’ve reviewed them all, I may even let my oldest son keep his own Sephora birthday gift.

Sephora Birthday Gift Milk Makeup Review

The main allure to this Sephora birthday gift was how much everyone hypes this mascara up. I typically prefer mascaras that define lashes to ones that add volume, because I dislike spider lashes. Without getting a sample, I probably never would have tried this. It has fibers that catch onto the ends of lashes making them look a lot longer. My eyes never get irritated with this from fibers falling into them, which is my main fear of fiber mascaras. Even when I layer this, my lashes do not get clumpy. Granted, I always stick to one or two coats, so brave souls who venture into a third coat might find a different outcome.

This mascara also gives a slight curl to my straight lashes. It looks even better if I curl my lashes, which I usually don’t. Why curl them when they will fall in 30 minutes? It just adds an extra, unnecessary step. With this, it is worth it. The brush on this sample is amazing. I can get every lash easily in two quick passes. It does smudge every time I wear it, and I also get some flaking. If it wasn’t for the flaking and smudging, this would have been a contender for my favorite. Until it starts to break down, it looks amazing though.

I already had a sample of the cooling water before I received this Sephora birthday present, yet I was never tempted to try it. In my stockpiles, it waited. With certainty, I know it will emerge from the stockpile. My desire to review all the Sephora birthday presents meant I finally had to try this strange thing that was certainly superfluous. Turns out, I was wrong. It is really refreshing. Whether I am wearing makeup or not, I find myself reaching for this. Since I have not tried it with puffy eyes yet, I cannot promise it helps that way. If you want your eyes to get a boost of hydration or a hint of cooling, you might enjoy this though. The small stick is the perfect size for the under eyes.

Is the Sephora Birthday Gift from Milk Makeup Worth Picking Up?

Even though the mascara has a lot of good things about it, the two cons overwhelm the pros long before the day ends. My guess is it does not smear or smudge on the people who love it. I would be in the love category for sure if I was one of those people. Getting to try it for free (as I like to do with overhyped products) was reason enough for me to pick the gift up. If it is not inconvenient for you to get to a Sephora and you want to try at least one of the items, I would say pick it up. You can even add one to an online order, which makes it even easier. Had I not picked up this gift, I would not have discovered how much I like the cooling water. Odds are, I will reach for that a lot this summer, if I have any left. That little bonus was the cherry on top, and I can see myself purchasing it once I run out.

It does list a great deal of them on its Beauty Offers page, but I list some it does not on my Sephora Deals Page. Between the ones it lists and the ones I list, you can catch most of them. I really want the Milk Makeup gift but I’m not VIB or Rouge!

It is possible you can arrange a trade with someone who is. If you can’t find anyone to trade with, I’d recommend the Drunk Elephant gift if you want skincare or the Kat Von D if you want makeup. I did like that the Milk Makeup gift gave a taste of both, but I preferred the skincare all around this year.
