Free Ulta Beauty Birthday gifts are here! My 2019 Ulta birthday gift review on the 0.5oz IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream is ready, because I started using a sample I already owned last month. This is the third Ulta birthday gift of 12 Ulta will release this year. It is my birth month, so this is my official birthday present from Ulta this year. I also reviewed the January birthday gift thanks to my oldest son, and the February birthday gift thanks to my youngest son. Spoiler alert, this is the best of the first three gifts. A new birthday gift is getting released every month in 2019. Here’s hoping you get one you like.

Your March 2019 Ulta Beauty birthday gift has a total value of $16. Compare this to the $12 First Quarter birthday gift from 2018. This Ulta birthday gift is travel sized. It is a 0.5oz IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream.
My skin is very dry. Most moisturizers do not deliver enough hydration to my skin, so I typically lean toward moisturizers made for dry skin. The IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream was designed for all skin types, even the most sensitive. It also claims it is the number one anti-aging moisturizer based on NPD units in 2017. This moisturizer makes some bold claims, including the promise to transform skin. Developed with plastic surgeons and dermatologists, it aims to treat a number of skin concerns in one cream. If this lives up to its promises, it will activate the anti-aging Armour Rejuvenating Concentrate on contact with skin to add moisture, restore visible radiance, reduce the look of pores, discoloration, lines, and wrinkles, and improve the look of firmness.
It claims you will notice instant results, but the results will be more powerful over time. The first thing I noticed is this product has a lot of ingredients (see the picture above). Whenever products make as many claims as this one does, that is somewhat expected. In order to treat that many things, we need a lot of ingredients to target different issues. I understand why Ulta would select a cream suitable for all skin types as the gift for all March birthday recipients. Some people do not want to use anti-aging creams when they’re younger, because the skin does not need this many ingredients to treat problems that are not even there yet. I’ve read into this a little, but not enough to quote with any certainty that young people should definitely avoid anti-aging creams. Those who want to know more should Google it.
While I admit it disappoints me to see the birthday gift was a sample I’ve received many times before, this is bigger than every other sample I’ve received. The samples I’ve received in the past were always 0.237oz. This is 0.5oz, which sells for $16 at Ulta. That makes it the most valuable of all gifts offered at Ulta so far this year, which makes sense given it is the only one from a high-end brand. I wish the packaging was not so large, because the sample takes up little room inside this package.
The cream is somewhat thick, which I enjoy. It is not so thick that it takes forever to work into the skin or fails to fully absorb. While it does not feel heavy on my skin, it does hydrate very deeply. That is all I really expect from my moisturizer, so I think this is a great one for me. My skin feels a little tacky for a while afterward, but that never bothers me. After finishing the 0.237oz sample I had before I received this 0.5oz sample, I can say I have not noticed a lot of long-term effects. A full-size is 2oz, so it seems unfair to judge long-term effects based off a tiny sample. This provides great moisture and I do notice some reduction in my pore size. I am skeptical that a cream (which is somewhat thick) can work as well as a serum, which can penetrate deeper. Who knows though! I have a 0.5oz sample to test this longer and may move right into it to continue on the journey with this product.
It is free, so I would grab it if a trip to the store is not inconvenient for you. For those who have to go out of their way to get to an Ulta, do you need a new moisturizer? Are you interested in anti-aging skincare? Do you prefer to stick to products geared toward your specific skin type with less ingredients? Have you already tried this or received a sample in the past? Is this something you even want to try? Could you gift it to someone else? I picked mine up, because I enjoyed the smaller sample. If you’ve tried this before and love it like I do, you will clearly want to grab another.
