When I received the email that the Julep Maven subscription program ended on February 15, 2019, I was sad. I knew it was possible when I reviewed my February 2019 Julep Maven Box and even mentioned it in that article, but I had hope that everything would work out. Sadly, the subscription program is gone. Julep was one of the few subscription boxes that allowed members to select all items that went inside the box, and all the items were full-size. Getting the items for a fraction of the price of purchasing them for the shop placed inside the box made the boxes very valuable. Allowing members to skip boxes made it even more desirable. It really was ahead of its time. Who knows, maybe it can return someday, and I will be ready to subscribe again if it has the same benefits it had before.
Anyone who had an active subscription when the program ended got grandfathered into Maven benefits. Some benefits got better, some remained the some, and some got eliminated. Let’s discuss the changes.
Legacy Julep Maven Benefits as of February 15, 2019
- Mavens now get 25% off when they used to get 20% off, so this is an improvement. The extra 5% off can help offset how much we could save by placing 2-4 items in a Maven box for $19.99-$24.99.
- Free shipping on all orders was a benefit we had before, and that benefit is still available.
- Jules are no longer getting rewarded and we’ve lost all Jules we accumulated until this point.
I will update this as I learn more. Hopefully, I can still find great deals at Julep, because I enjoy many of its products and would like to keep purchasing them.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
