If you have to buy it, get the best deal!
Birchbox always has a promo code for a welcome gift for anyone signing up for a new subscription. Different welcome gifts are available based on the subscription duration you select. Those who select a one-month subscription will usually get a single sample, but there are times when the offer is a full-size item. That is part of the reason I’ve decided to start tracking offers. Those who are on the fence can use this as a guide to see what the current offer is and compare it to past offers to see if they should subscribe now or wait for a better offer. Since startup offers are always available, they are a part of the deal. You get better gifts for selecting a 3-month subscription, a 6-month subscription, or a 12-month subscription. In 2018, Birchbox switched its referral links to only offer 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions. I dislike that.
No matter how great the startup offer is, those who are unfamiliar with Birchbox should start commitment light. Even a 3-month subscription is asking for too much. When I saw that Birchbox eliminated the month-to-month option on its referral link, I removed my referral link from every article I wrote after that. It did not matter to me that as a subscriber, I get more benefit from someone using my referral link than I get from someone using my affiliate link. Subscribers deserve the option to keep things casual. I hope Birchbox corrects this mistake and lets referrals start selecting the one-month option again. Until then, avoid referral links from me and others unless you are ready to commit to at least 3 months.
Who should sign-up for those longer subscriptions then? Good question. Those who are already Birchbox subscribers or at least familiar with Birchbox should grab the longer ones. I am on am annual subscription myself, because a long subscription with a box I already love is good for me. The offer I got on my annual subscription just sweetened the pot. You can also sign up for longer terms if you are familiar with other similar subscriptions. You should never sign a long-term with Birchbox or any subscription if you know what you love and are very particular with trying new things. Subscription boxes are not for everyone, and you are not the ideal subscription box candidate if you are hard to please. Knowing what you love and only wanting to try certain things is not a bad thing unless you are wasting money on a subscription and barely using any of the products you receive.
For those who are already signed up, we get some exclusive offers for items in the shop.

I always list the starting date/month for each offer. Birchbox does not always list an ending date, so I cannot list one when I don’t know it. Only try offers near the top of this tracking article, because they are posted in reverse chronological order.
Valid through January 21st.
What are your thoughts on Birchbox welcome offers? Let me know below. If your purchase is over $25 (longer subscriptions or purchasing something from the shop with the subscription), you can pick a free item from the bonus shop if you do not use a subscription start-up offer or discount code, which I cover on my Birchbox Deals Page. Some discount codes on that page will not work on subscriptions, but I will post any that work on my Birchbox Subscription Deals Page. You can always add a free two piece sample pack when spending $35, because it combines with any promo code. Tips For Getting the Best Deal lays out all the ways I know to save money at Birchbox. Product reviews do not always make it into the haul article, but you can always type the product into the search bar to see if I’ve mentioned it or reviewed it elsewhere.
