The 2019 Sephora VIB Qualification gifts have been officially announced. For 2019, this is referred to as the Sephora Tier Celebration Gift. See the Rouge gifts, which were also announced. This is a major change from 2018, because the usual gifts are all noticeably absent. There was a welcome kit in the past, but the 2019 welcome gifts are intangible (other than the certificate options). Each member can select the option s/he likes best. These changes will officially launch on January 16th. Members of each tier who qualify can redeem the gift of his/her choice on the 16th this year and starting on the 1st in each year that follows.
I have one timeline where I list all major: Promotions, Sales, Deals, GWP, Promo Codes, and Events. Those who want to see an overall idea of what to expect this year should stop by. See where these Sephora VIB Welcome Gifts line up with others on the calendar. You can also visit my Sephora retailer page to see active and upcoming offers of all types.
You login to your account and access your Beauty Insider Profile. The gifts you are eligible for are listed there. Select the one you want and checkout. Choices for 2019 were available based on 2018 spend, but I am not sure it will work the same way in 2020. We used to select the gift after we qualified, and it could return to that format next year. If it were to return to that format, everyone could select a VIB gifton their way to Rouge and another gift once they qualify for Rouge.
There are a few changes from the start of 2018 to the start of 2019, but most of these come from when the program relaunched on August 9th.
Members can select from 3 choices.
Certificates for 2 free 60-minute Makeup Deluxe: The Full Face Makeover sessions. VIB members used to get 1 when they qualified, so it doubled this year. You can use both for yourself or give one or both to friends. The friend does not need to be a VIB, Beauty Insider, or even make a purchase to redeem it. This is a nice gift.
Get 500 points. *In the past, members got a single use coupon code for 10% off. That coupon was rarely emailed when it should have been so many never even got to redeem it. Previous VIB and Rouge members could usually redeem it based off qualifying the year before, but I was not able to do that in 2018 as I had been in past years.
Select free standard shipping on every order with a $35 purchase. *In the past this was a one-time code for free shipping on any purchase. Getting every order shipped for $35 instead of $50 is a better perk that getting one order with no minimum shipped free (in my opinion).
What are your thoughts on the changes? It is disappointing to see the 10% discount offer disappear, but it was always temperamental to the point where I did not get it at all in 2018. I kept getting an error message. Welcome to the Sephora VIB program or welcome back.
What are your thoughts on this? Let me know below. Sephora does not inform any Beauty Insider of all promotions. It does list a great deal of them on its Beauty Offers page, but I list some it does not on my Sephora Deals Page. Between the ones it lists and the ones I list, you can catch most of them. Subscribe to emails to get targeted offers. If you’re spending over $25 online, there is always a promo code that you can apply. Most major events run on a set schedule, which is why I track them.
