After missing the deadline to review the samples I received in the spring, I assumed I got blacklisted from receiving more. Some of the free sampling sites are more forgiving than others. One accused me of missing a deadline even though I never did, and I have not been invited back since (comment below if you want to know which one). My suspicions amplified when I did not get an invite to the summer samples. Then, I got invited to the fall samples. Sample Source was ready to forgive my transgression after a single season off. It was either a punishment or my profile did not match the freebies they had lined up, but the idea it was the former makes me laugh. I logged in to see that I was only getting one item. Even better, it was one I already sampled in the spring. At least, I can finally review it. Reviewing it will hopefully put me back in its good graces, so I can get more samples in the spring (they do not send anyone samples in the winter).
SampleSource provides free samples in exchange for your opinion. Register and fill out your profile. If samples suited to your profile become available, they will send you an email. Quantities are limited, so respond as soon as you get the email to make sure yours do not run out of stock. A few weeks after your samples arrive, you will get an email asking to review the products. The review is an exit survey that only has a few questions per product. Neither a blog post nor any social media promotion is required. I only write a post to share the service with you. There are no referrals for this service, so all links are direct.
It usually takes about a month from ordering to receive the shipping confirmation. The items usually arrive around the same time as the shipping confirmation. Their quote is 4-6 weeks, but it always seems like 4 or less.
The Persil PROCLEAN Power-Caps Original smelled amazing coming out of the washer. My clothes did not look bright, per se, but they did not look dull either. A lot of laundry detergents I’ve never heard of make my clothes look dull and fade the colors. I’m not sure what happened to the fresh clean scent, because the laundry had almost no scent at all when it came out of the dryer. It seriously perplexed me, and I have a great sense of smell. This clean fines, although nothing was heavily soiled, so it is hard to say it is powerful. Based on a single sample, there was nothing about it that made me think I need to stop using my Tide Pods and switch to these. If I got a bigger sample in the future, I would try it. Switching permanently is highly unlikely though. *Yes, I copied and pasted my review from the spring article, because I still feel the same. This is a product I will use when I get samples or freebies, but I am still unconvinced it is worth purchasing.
One of the best things about receiving samples is they usually shower you with coupons to purchase any you love. This batch did not have one, but I would not have purchased this if it did.
The exit survey usually arrives 2-3 weeks after the samples. It asks a few basic questions about each item and for permission to contact me by phone if they have any follow-up questions. This whole process takes between 5-10 minutes (or less when you only have one sample). My exit survey has not arrived yet, but I really hope I remember to respond once it does. I want some beauty samples in the spring, and it has been a while since I’ve received any of those. Samples ship once a quarter (except Winter), so anyone who signs up now will be eligible for Spring samples.
