The Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip Kit was marked down to $47 on 11/21/18. I thought this was a great deal at $68, so I think it is a steal at the new price. After the somewhat disappointing Superstars Kit and the lackluster Superstars Everyday Must Haves Kit, my expectations for the Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip were low. Thankfully, this exceeds my expectations, because I think this is a pretty good set. I have no problem paying the full $68 asking price, so I placed an online order today. In the past, I would have shied away from a set with so many non-traditional bullet lipsticks, but I am trying to broaden my horizons and try new things. At some point, I will write a comprehensive article on the liquid lipsticks I’ve tried and go over my results for which one is best for dry lips. Until then, I will keep exploring.
There are 14 products in the Give Me More Lip set and 5 are full-size. It costs $68. Sephora advertises it with a $212 value.
At $68, each product costs $4.86. It is always a little disappointing to see a product not pull its weight on the cost, and there are 3 that fall short in this set. The 5 full-size items retail for $115. That makes this the first set in a while where you can give away 1-2 (depending on which ones) of the full-size items and still have the ones you keep cover the cost of the set. It is always a lot easier to buy a set when you are paying for the full-size items and getting the samples free. As I am keeping four of the full-size items, all of my samples were free!
As with most of the larger favorites sets, everything comes inside a box which has cutouts for the products.
This keeps the products from shifting during shipping.
The insert is removable, which leaves you with a beautiful box you can repurpose.
Someone will get something in this for Christmas, because it gives me holiday vibes.
Give Me More Lip 2018 Review
The full-size 0.11oz Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Poet retails for $20.
This is a dusty mauve. I love the color.
I still enjoyed the color on my lips as much as I enjoyed it in the swatch, but it did come off a little darker. It dried down completely after about 10 minutes. At about the five-minute mark, it was still a little sticky, so I waited five more minutes to purse my lips together. This liquid lipstick formula is not the most drying on my lips, but it is not the most comfortable either. The more comfortable ones are not as transfer proof as this one so there is some trade-off. Whenever I ate or drank something, I did not any real transfer at all with this one. One application truly lasted all day on the outskirts of my lips. On the inner parts of my lips, the color faded, so I did get a butthole lip. This also starts to flake off as the day wears on, so it is not super flattering on the lips.
Because it does not dehydrate my lips, it does not accentuate lip lines as much as the ones that do. However, I have yet to try a liquid lipstick that fully dries down that does not accentuate some lines. I either did not have any dry patches or this did not cling to them, because I did not notice that at all. Considering that is a common problem with liquid lipsticks, I would call this a win. As long as your lips are not dry, you could wear this, and it will look nice. You will need to reapply at least once if you are out all day if you want to avoid butthole lip and eventual crumbling. The final verdict is while this is not comfortable, it is not overly drying either.
Sephora lists the bareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Lip Lacquer in Everything as 0.12oz. It also claims it is full-size, which would make it 0.21oz. There is no size listed on it, but it is the same size as other full-sizes I own in this product. This full-size product retails for $19. I have not tried this glossy finish yet, but I enjoy the mattes. Something tells me this is more like a gloss than a liquid lipstick, but I will confirm that suspicion after I try it. I own this another color, but I have not tried it yet.
This is a muted mauve. I love this color.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
The 0.07oz Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lip in Marsala is worth $6.72. I purchased a set of these last Christmas, and I still have not tried the formula.
This is a black raspberry. I love this color, but the swatch is a little patchy. Some of these darker shades are hard to pull off.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
The full-size 0.12oz Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Bond Girl retails for $34. Even though this shade is new to my collection, I am familiar with this formula. Every color can perform differently, so I will wait until I try it to offer the official review. From the other colors I’ve tried, I do like the way this looks and wears. It is comfortable for a matte lipstick. I’ve always liked the way matte lipsticks look, but I dislike the way most of them feel. This is a happy exception.
This is a natural berry red. The color is beautiful. I had to double-check the color description, because this does not look like a red or a berry to me. It looks more marsala than the Bite lipstick in marsala.
I wore this at night, so the flash was necessary. For a matte lipstick, it is not drying. Bullet lipsticks like this are a lot more comfortable than matte liquid lipsticks, especially the ones that dry all the way down. Of course, the trade-off is there is transfer with this, almost as much as a moisturizing lipstick. My lips felt relatively dry within a couple of hours, because it is still a matte lipstick. Next time, I will wear a lip balm immediately before applying to soften and hydrate them as much as possible first. This wears nicely and fades evenly. It is a nice formula for someone wanting matte lips without a liquid lipstick sucking the moisture out of them. Despite its formula, it does not accentuate lip lines or highlight dry patches. If you are curious as to why my hair is so frizzy in this picture, see the review on that shampoo.
The full-size 0.14oz HUDA BEAUTY Lip Strobe in Snobby retails for $18. If you notice that the picture above is of a mini, you have a keen eye. I received a mini of this in The Give Me Some New Lip earlier this year. Even though I haven’t tried it yet, I did swatch it. As I only give away new lip products, I decided not to open the new full-size one in this set. That way, I can give this to someone else. It is completely possible the wand on the full-size looks different, but I will not know unless I love it so much once I try the sample that I decide to either keep the full-size (if I haven’t given it away by then) or buy a full-size in a different shade. My perfect lip gloss is comfortable without feeling sticky or needing reapplication a dozen times a day. We’ll see how this compares.
This is a semi-sheer light pink base with pink and gold pearls. I like the swatch, but I doubt it will look that pigmented on my lips.
This formula is not overly sticky, but it still lasts a long time on the lips. My favorite formulas are even less sticky, so I have no regrets that I gave away the full-size I received in this kit to a giveaway winner. That said, I think this is perfect for someone who wants a long-lasting lip gloss that is not too sticky. Wear this with multiple passes to increase pigmentation or with a light layer for a more sheer application. As this is not a sheer formula, some pink and sparkle is present not matter how light the application is. I like this, but I would stop short of saying I love it. It is a fun lip gloss and can perk up any look quickly.
*I wore this at night, so the flash was required. Even with the flash, the picture is a little grainy. When it comes to showing color, I firmly believe natural light is best and take as many photos as possible sans flash. All swatches are without the flash. As you can see from the swatch to the photo, the flash drowns out some of the color.
The 0.1oz Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw is worth $9.09. I already own this (even though I have not yet tried it), so I will not keep this duplicate sample. Though I have tried her liquid lipstick in other colors, I have not been a fan of the formula.
This is a brick-red. I was instantly drawn to this red. When it comes to reds, I really love brick shades. They are so vibrant.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
The 0.042oz Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon in Plum N Get It is worth $15.60. I have not tried this shade yet, but I think this formula is extremely comfortable on this lips and wears like a pigmented gloss that is not sticky at all. Hopefully, this shade performs as well.
This is a rich plum. I love the color. It is very soft, so I broke the tip as I was swatching it. That is 100% my fault, because I could feel the resistance and pushed hard anyway. Some might even say I was asking for trouble.
This photo was taken at night, so the flash was necessary. There are no words for how comfortable this formula feels on the lips. If you have naturally dry lips, you will notice when this fades without even using a mirror. You can feel the moisture leaving. It wears off somewhat beautifully until it completely fades in the center leaving you with butthole lip. Considering it takes many hours before reaching butthole lip mode, you could always reapply to avoid it. After many hours and a meal, it still looked great on the outer parts of my lips. I did not see a lot of that awkward ring some lipsticks leave around lips as they fade. It almost feels like a gloss and lipstick hybrid with no stickiness but all the moisture of gloss. For those who want a little shine, this really is an all-in-one. When the light hits it, you get a two-toned effect. Because it is really smooth, it glides on evenly and easily. There is a lot of pigment but it is not patchy at all. My lip lines are only present as the formula fades, and you cannot see dry patches at all.
The 0.06oz NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Do Me Baby is worth $18.84. This is another matte lip product that is very comfortable to wear. I have not tried this shade yet.
This is a chestnut rose. I love the color.
It is really comfortable for a matte lipstick. This applies evenly and fades beautifully. There is never an awkward moment from application to reapplication. If you want a matte lipstick that will not dehydrate your lips that you do not have to keep checking on, this is it. The only trade-off is you will have to reapply more than you would with a matte liquid lipstick. I like the shape, because I can easily apply and reapply this on the go without a liner.
The 0.04oz SEPHORA COLLECTION Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in #40 Pink Tea is worth $3.31. Of all the liquid lipstick formulas I’ve tried, this is one of my favorites so far. Then again, it does not dry all the way down. That means it is not a traditional liquid lipstick. I have not tried this color yet.
This is a brownish pink. I do like some shades of brown, but it will be hard to see what I think of this shade until I actually try it on my lips.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
The full-size 0.13oz Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte in Vino Noir retails for $24. I have tried the matte shades of this formula, but I have not yet tried any of the metallics.
This is a metallic burgundy. Of every color in this set, this is the one I am the most unsure about. Of course, that probably means I will end up loving this one the most when I try it on.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
The 0.033oz tarte Rainforest of the Sea H20 Gloss Lip Gloss in Hang Ten is worth $4.64. It felt a little sticky as I swatched it, so my expectations are not high. I am not really into sticky lip gloss.
This is a rosy mauve. I like the color.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
The 0.1oz Too Faced Melted Matte in Queen B is worth $5.25. I already own this (even though I have not yet tried it), so I will not keep this duplicate sample.
This is a matte soft mauve. Of every color in this set, this is the one I think is the most pleasing. That says a lot for a set where I like or love 11 shades. My eyes are just drawn to this color.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
The 0.03oz Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss in Naked is worth $2.61. It does not feel sticky at all when I swatched it, so my expectations are high that I will enjoy this formula.
This is a nude pink with a pearly pink shift. I see more of the nude than anything else in the swatch. It just does not impress me much, but I hope my mind will change after I wear it.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
The 0.1oz Yves Saint Laurent Tatouage Couture in #1 Rouge Tatouage is worth $18.50. This is the only product in the set where I do not own anything from this line, even in other colors. It really gives me a chance to try a completely new product. At $37 for the full-size, I probably would not have purchased one of these separately. That makes this the sample I am most looking forward to. From the swatch alone, it feels a lot like the Sephora one. Of course, it is too early to say as I have not even tried it on my lips yet, but I will let you know if I confirm my suspicion that this is a dupe for that.
This is a vibrant pink-red. I love the color. It is hard to mess up a red for me though, because it is my favorite color. Though I may not wear red on my lips as much as mauve, I can never have too many great reds in my collection.
I will edit in a picture and a review once I try this.
When I look at all the colors together, I think this is an extremely wearable set. None of the colors are out there. While I am sure there are some I will like more than others, none make me think there is no way could I pull that off just by looking at them. I am ready to tackle each one to see how it looks and feels.
Is the 2018 Give Me More Lip Kit Worth it?
This set is worth $199.56, which is $12.44 lower than the Sephora estimate. My personal value is $167.22, because I will keep all the products that are new to my collection. I do not see the need to keep any of the three I already own. It is rare that I only own three products when Sephora puts out a set of 14, so the curation pleases me. As long as I like at least half the products, I will feel like this is a great deal. Until I have tried them, I will say $68 is worth the opportunity to try this many new things. If there is one thing I would have done differently with this set it would have been to select a different color for the HUDA BEAUTY Lip strobe. Placing the same color in different lip sets in a calendar year is pointless for those like me who tend to purchase many of these sets. Other than that one minor complaint, I think this offers some redemption from the back-to-back disappointments with the Superstars kits.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.
I have to say that lip products are one of my big weaknesses. I have so many unopened lipsticks/glosses/lip toppers, etc and yet, this set looks really good. Yet, I think I will be able to hold off on this one. I have a couple of mini lipsticks that I loved and I will just purchase the full size. Great review. I love that you showed all the swatches.

The full-size HUDA gloss from this set is the one I sent in your prize, because I already owned the mini. My desire to keep the full-size I gave you new is why I show a picture of my open mini (but I hope the full-size from the set looks like the same). Funny enough, I still have not tried any of these products, including the HUDA mini I received in a kit earlier this year. That means I probably have too much, and I need to wear makeup more often.
