Sephora Labor Day Sale August 30th Through September 5th, 2018 With Select Items Up to 60% Off

Sephora usually has a Labor Day Sale where it dumps a lot of discontinued items and products that cannot sell for their full retail price into the Sale Section. These items are up to 60% off, and the section can double or even triple the amount of items it usually carries. Labor Day typically marks the end of the summer, and Sephora will usually do this at the end of each season to make room for all the latest and greatest items. It might sound like I am not a fan of the sale. Getting items I wanted but passed at full price is the best. Yes, I will have to sort through pages of products that do not interest me, but there are always gems. For those gems, arrive early. While items that go out-of-stock can return, there are times that they disappear forever once they’re gone. This is because they typically pull items from all the physical stores and sell them online until they run out. As they receive more stock from each store, they place the available units for sale online.
I was not sure if Sephora was going to do the Labor Day Sale this year, because the Beauty Insider Appreciation Event where members get a discount based on their rewards level is happening. It is the first time Sephora ever offered a blanket discount at this time of year, so there was never an event to run along the Labor Day Sale before. Sephora usually cancels one sale when another is taking place. As evidence, the Weekly Wow is not running this week and will not run next week (which starts tomorrow), because of the event. Sale items are never excluded from a discount code, so if you find a sale item up to 60% off, you can take an extra 10%, 15%, or 20% off (after deducting the 60%) based on your level.
The only bad thing about the Beauty Insider Appreciation Event is each online code is only good once and a lot of Rouge members probably already redeemed theirs. That means Beauty Insider and VIB members will all get access to the Labor Day Sale with their discount codes. Some Rouge members will get left out in the cold, and that is not cool. If you are lucky enough to still have your Beauty Insider Appreciation Code available or you do not mind shopping the Labor Day Sale without the extra discount, it opens tomorrow. Had I known about it before today, I would have warned my fellow Rouge shoppers to wait.
There are 444 items in the sale section on the morning of the 30th. That is over 100 more than there were yesterday. I am obviously not going to cover all of them, but I will go over some of the ones from the first page (best-selling).
The first one that popped out at me in the first picture is for the Sephora Favorites Superstars Kit for 2018. This is because I dedicated an article to it saying I would only consider purchasing it if it were around $40. That is the exact price it dipped to. Yet, I am still having hesitation. I have not even used my Beauty Appreciation discount yet, so it would only cost me $32. With so many other things in the sale section that look more appealing, I can put that $32 to better use.
- The T3 Featherweight Compact Folding Dryer for $119 is okay. I own this and think it is not the most powerful blow dryer, so I would not use this at home. It works better than most hotel dryers and is compact, so it is nice for travel.
- The Viseart Theory Eyeshadow Palette in III Chroma looks nice for $36.
- The jewel tones in the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette look beautiful for $30.
- The GHD Dry & Style Gift Set looks interesting for $175. My husband has my large blow dryer, so I was thinking of getting one my Beauty Appreciation code. Since the code excludes Dyson, I could see myself getting this instead. Knowing my luck, Dyson will get included in the November Sale, and I will regret this purchase.
Of the 5 items I mentioned above, I only own one. There are some items I already own and have not yet tried, like the Urban Decay Naked Basics, the Urban Decay Distortion Palette, Sephora Collection Micellar Cleansing Water & Milk, and the GlamGlow PoutMud. Thus, I cannot recommend them one way or the other. Some items like the Urban Decay Naked Palette, the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick, the Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick, the GlamGlow SuperMud set, the Sephora Collection Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color, and the Lancome DRAMA LIQUI-PENCIL™ Longwear Eyeliner are great. I would recommend them, but they have been in the sale section a while. Odds are, my fellow deal shoppers have already seen them. Granted, those who have not used their Beauty Appreciation Codes who saw them and passed in the past may get them now that they can get an extra 10%, 15%, or 20% off (based on Beauty Insider level).
What are your thoughts on the Sephora Labor Day Sale? Let me know below. Sephora does not inform any Beauty Insider of all promotions. It does list a great deal of them on its Beauty Offers page, but I list some it does not on my Sephora Deals Page. Between the ones it lists and the ones I list, you can catch most of them. Subscribe to emails to get targeted offers. If you’re spending over $25 online, there is always a promo code that you can apply. Most major events run on a set schedule, which is why I track them. I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.
