Anyone spending over $19.50 on select items from the Ulta Beauty Collection gets a free GWP, a beauty bag. The Ulta 10x Points Event for Platinum and Diamond Appreciation wraps tonight. There are a lot of items included this year, including all Ulta Beauty Collection products. Though this bag is valid (while supplies last) from 07/29/18 through 08/25/18, this is the perfect day to pick it up. Of course, you can always grab it through Saturday if you see this after the 20th or cannot take part in the Platinum and Diamond Appreciation Event.
Receive a 13-piece gift with a (select) $19.50 Ulta Beauty Collection purchase. There are 257 Ulta Beauty products that qualify for this promotion of the 526 Ulta Beauty products available for purchase. No bag value or product details got listed. There are two choices on the bag color, Sparkle and Rose Gold. From the picture, it looks like the bags have different textures. If anyone got the Sparkle Bag (silver), please confirm this.
Though I find the silver more attractive, it looks like a fabric bag. This rose gold bag is vinyl (as I assumed), so it is easier to wipe off beauty products that spill onto it.
Everything comes sealed in a clear bag inside the GWP bag. This probably limits damage to the products, but as you will see shortly, I still had some.
There are 12 beauty products, a cosmetic bag, and a coupon for a future purchase.
The coupon is general, so you can use it online as many times as you’d like. Use code 663321 for $5 off a $15 Ulta Beauty Collection Cosmetic or Brush purchase. Valid 08/26/18 through 10/27/18. Of course, I always have other offers on my Ulta Beauty page if this one does not interest you.
The 10-count of Ulta Beauty Collection Sensitive Skin Facial Cleansing Towelettes are worth $2.40. I have such a large stockpile of wipes that it usually takes me a while to try a new one. Part of the reason my stockpile never dwindles is I rarely use them for my face anymore. Yet, I tend to use baby wipes or butt wipes (yes, the flushable ones) to remove swatches, because they do a good job and are cheaper than makeup removing wipes. Since I did not have any open wipes, I decided to just open these to remove the swatches. They are a nice size and have a good amount of moisture. It removed all the makeup from the swatches. Then again, baby and butt wipes usually do that as well. Until I use these on my face to remove makeup, I will withhold my final review.
The Ulta Beauty Collection Blush Brush is not the one Ulta sells for $16. That one has a curved handle, more bristles, and a slightly different shape. It means I cannot really price this one. This is slightly smaller than a full-size brush, but it is bigger than a mini brush. The bristles are somewhat soft but not overly dense. I could see myself reaching for this when I have a really pigmented blush where I want to deposit only a small amount of color.
The Ulta Beauty Collection Eye Shadow Brush is not the one Ulta sells for $12 or even the large one that retails for $14. That one has a curved handle, more bristles, and a slightly different shape. It means I cannot really price this one. This is slightly smaller than a full-size brush, but it is bigger than a mini brush. The bristles are somewhat soft but not overly dense. I could see myself reaching for this when I want to pack color on my lid. Because it is not as flat as I’d like, I would not use this with glitter shades.
The 0.03oz Eyeliner Pencil in Blackout is worth $2.40. I am not going to swatch this now, because it arrived broken. Until I am actually ready to use it, I do not want to deal with the mess. Thankfully, it arrived sealed. Gel pencils are my favorite, and I want to see how this compares to others in my collection.
The 0.08oz Ulta Beauty Collection Bronzer and Illuminator palette is impossible to value. This is not sold separately, so I cannot link it either.
Although I am unsure how I feel about the bronzer color until I apply it to my skin, I really liked the texture of powder when I swatched it. One swatch delivered brilliant pigmentation, and the formula is silky. There was barely any kickback, and this is not powdery at all. The illuminator looked a little too light and shimmery for my face. When I blend it out, it really looks nice. It takes on a champagne color, which is my favorite highlight shade. I think this would make a great inner corner highlight when I do not sheer it out.
The 0.34oz Ulta Beauty Collection Limitless Lashes Lengthening + Volumizing Mascara is worth $9.65. It is only 0.03oz smaller than the full-size. I have not tried this one, and it is not one of the Ulta branded mascaras already in my stash.
The 0.24oz Ulta Beauty Collection 6-pan Eyeshadow Palette is impossible to value. This is not sold separately, so I cannot link it either.
The matte shades: Petite, Plum Pop, and Pin Up girl are very powdery. It took two passes to get one swipe of color. While that is not the worst shadow I’ve ever swatched, it only took one pass of color for the shimmers in the same palette. These shades are pigmented, but I predict they will have a lot of kick up and some difficulty blending. Of course, I will edit in an actual review once I try it.
The shimmer shades: Whatevs, Autumn Spice, and Nutmeg are smooth. These colors should create a beautiful fall look. If they perform as well as they swatch, my hopes are high. Each shade only took one pass to look that lovely. I cannot get over how beautiful that rustic copper, Autumn Spice, is.
The 0.8oz Ulta Beauty Collection Matte Makeup Setting Spray retails for $6. That is extremely overpriced for a house brand, no matter how good it might be. It is $7.50 an ounce, which is close to some higher-end brands. This is the travel size. Considering the 3oz size is also suitable for travel, I would suggest purchasing that one over this any day. At $10, it is $3.33 an ounce. I am not into matte setting sprays, and it is not because I do not care for a flat look. There are even times when I prefer that look. Matte setting sprays usually seem to dry out my skin. Unless it gives me a matte look without drying out my skin, this will not stay in my collection.
The 0.07oz Ulta Beauty Collection Matte Metallic Liquid Lipstick does not have a shade name on it. I am guessing it is Golden Age (rose bronze with pearl shimmer). This is worth $6.30.
I am not really into metallic lips or liquid lips, but I feel every makeup product has its place. There are events or times I can see myself looking for a long-wearing metallic lip. Thanks to sets like this, I am happy that I can say I have some without paying for them. This looks like a great color for fall as well.
I considered not opening the 0.16oz Ulta Beauty Collection Tinted Eye Primer in Satin Blush, because I already own one of these in a different shade. It is worth $6.40. I figure these are similar to the Urban Decay primers where they all hold about the same but just have different colors. My eyeshadow primer gets covered by eyeshadow anyway so unless the primer alters the shade of an eyeshadow, I cannot see the need to own different shades. This has a strange almost fingerprint dent on both sides of it. There is also some primer inside the plastic. Between those 2 anomalies, I think there might be a hole. That means I cannot gift this. It also means I may not get to try it much before it dries out and goes bad. At least I can see if the different shades alter the look of the eyeshadow. To test that, I will do the same look only changing the primer. As I have not tried the other primer yet either, I cannot say if this is a good primer yet.
The 0.09oz Ulta Beauty Brow Tint in Medium is worth $5.11. This is probably too dark for me, so I decided not to open it. Since I have never tried this before, this would give me a chance to try it. Even in the wrong shade, I can review the formula. My plan is to hold onto it for a while and see if a lighter shade makes its way to me. If it doesn’t, I will probably test this one. There are times when I can use darker brow formulas and get away with it as long as I am careful. Some trial and error will occur.
The 0.13oz Ulta Beauty Collection Luxe Lipstick in Stay Fierce is worth $7.89. This is only 0.01oz smaller than the full-size.
This medium nude pink cream looks like a great nude shade for me. Hopefully, it looks as good on as it does in the swatch. My skin is a lot more warm than my lips, so it can change slightly. Once I wear this, I will edit in a picture and review.
I think this is well themed for fall. Even though I believe you should wear what you want at any time, I do like being on trend with the seasons at times. The lip shades really came through for fall vibes.
This is where I would usually give you the total value of the bag and my personal value. I would also deduct the Ulta advertised value from the amount I came up with to see what the bag holding everything is worth. Between Ulta not listing a value and too many items I cannot assign a value to, I will have to exclude that in this wrap up. It is a gift with purchase, which makes that forgivable. Even if you only keep one item, your value is more than you spent. All of these items are new to my collection, which was a welcome surprise. Since the items were not listed, I did not know what I had and what I didn’t until it arrived. Of course, I may gift the bag and the brow gel, so I could end up with 11 of the 13 items in the end. That is a huge win considering I did not purchase this. Bonus points if I discover any gems. These bags give me a chance to explore items from the Ulta Beauty Collection. More often than not, they are items I would not have purchased otherwise.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
