See all 2019 Ulta Beauty Promotions, Deals, Coupons, GWP, Sales, and Events. As soon as I get more information on the 2019 Fall 21 Days of Beauty, I will start the new article.
The Ulta Beauty Fall 2018 21 Days of Beauty will run from September 2nd through September 22nd. Twice a year, usually starting in March and September, Ulta has a 21 day sale where select brands or items get discounted up to 50% off for one day only. Every day during the semi-annual event there are at least two beauty steals. There are also Hot Buys that run throughout the entire event. Most events also release Beauty Samplers, Try Me Kits. Spring tends to get the better steals. These deals come from the upcoming catalog, and the online link from the special event page. Deals listed in the printed catalog are in-store and online. All online exclusive deals are only listed online. All Steals ship free for Platinum and Diamond members. They ship free with a $50 purchase for UltaMate members.
All deals are available in-store and online unless they are marked *online only.

All Platinum Perks are Online Only! It has been a long time since pop-up steals happen in an event. If any more get announced, I will update them here.
You are not experiencing déjà vu. Ulta generally has a lot of repeats from past events, which is great for those who use the events to stock up on beloved products. It is not so great for those who hope to discover new things or hope their loves will join the event. There are 22 repeats, within the Steals (above) and Hot Buys (below), from major events within the past year, but others have also appeared in smaller promotions. If you wanted an item from a past event that did not pop up for this event, there is still a chance it will appear again in a future event.
Free Shipping with any Steal for Platinum and Diamond Members does not apply to Ulta Beauty Collection Steals. You can add these to a main steal for free shipping though.

Most Hot Buys are 40% or 30% off. Rare ones get other percentages, like 25% or 50% off. Steals from the past often occur here, and items here at times get promoted to steals for 50% off in the next event. There are two Hot Buys from Spring that were promoted to Steals for Fall. Two items were main steals in events within the past year but were demoted to Hot Buys for this event. Three were Hot Buys in the last event and repeated in this event. All 7 were factored into the 22 products I reference above.
Hot Buys run throughout the event while supplies last. While it is possible stock may replenish before the sale is over, it does not happen often. If you want a Hot Buy, it is always best to purchase it early in the event.

These are the offers for the fall 21 Days of Beauty. Offers are released every Sunday, so I will add any that get added as the sale progresses. To see a history of 2018 BOGO offers so far, view its article.
No Try Me Kits specific to this event were released.
There were 76 GWP offers on Day One of the event. That is more than I will ever list. The number will fluctuate as the sale progresses with some getting added and others getting removed as inventory runs out. This means over 50 new offers were added for the event. Some of the ones I like best are:

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner – This is a fantastic eyeliner, but I would NEVER pay $22. Grabbing it on sale is perfect. This is the only eyeliner I’ve ever finished. That is partly because I love it and mostly because this is really small. Thus, the reason I would never pay $22 for it. Lionfish is my favorite shade, because it is such a beautiful golden bronze. It is definitely a FabuFind. If you like to wear it smudged, move quickly. Don’t let the name fool you. After this sets, it will not move at all.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter – This is a great product. It looks like wet skin, which I love. I would never buy this in Opal and Moonstone if you are a regular Ulta shopper. Those colors get sampled ALL THE TIME. I seriously give them away all the time, because I have so many. Becca should sample the other colors. Until it does, buy another color if you have to try this.
Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer – This is a cult classic bronzer. That is likely due to its neutral tone. It is not too warm or too cool, so it doubles as a bronzer and a contour powder. Application is always smooth and never patchy. I do like the color and think it is a great matte, universal color for light to medium skin tones. Whether I am reaching for bronzer or contour, I usually reach for other things lately. Getting it for $15 if you do not already have it is a great deal, and I highly recommend it.
Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Lite Matte Bronzer – This is well formulated, so it wears and applies like the original. Unless you are very fair, you should pass. I am light, and this is too light for me. People with pale skin will probably love this.
Skin Iceland Travel Size Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels – When I apply these on a regular day, I notice almost no difference at all. If I apply them when I have really puffy eyes, particularly after crying, they really work. Due to their incredible ability to help me hide the results of crying, these are a FabuFind. Placing them in the fridge for an hour before use also makes them feel very refreshing.
beautyblender Blendercleanser Solid – This is amazing cleanser whether you are cleaning brushes or sponges. It is one of the few cleansers that can make a beautyblender look brand new again. I can prolong the life of my beautyblenders when I use this. Some harsher cleansers make them rip and others do not remove the stains. Both of those issues can get me to toss it. I think this cleans my brushes faster than the homemade baby shampoo mixed with conditioner I normally use. If this was more economical, I would buy it all the time.
Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara – Lancome makes my favorite mascara, Defincils. A lot of people rave about this one. It reminds me a lot of Benefit Bad Gal Bang. They both give a lot of volume. To get that volume, you deal with clumping and spider lashes. I can avoid the spider lashes if I stick to one coat or comb them out after two coats (when I have time). Avoiding the clumps is harder. In other words, if you like separate lashes, this is not the mascara for you.
bareminerals Mineral Veil Finishing Powder – This really is a lightweight, nice setting powder. I get into a rut and rarely grab this. People with oily skin might want something heavier, but this is great for dry to normal skin.
It Brushes for Ulta Velvet Luxe Brushes – I have yet to find an It Brushes for Ulta I do not love. All the ones I own are soft, do not shed, and work great for whatever I’ve purchased them for. Getting them for 50% off is amazing. They really are worth the full price but get discounted so often that I always recommend waiting.
Lancome CILS Booster XL Vitamin-Infused Mascara Primer – When I have time to sit and do my makeup, I really love this primer. More often than not, I am in a hurry and this is just an extra, unnecessary step. Getting a sample (or even a full size) in a set is too easy, so I could not see myself buying one, even at 50% off. For those who do want to try this, it does pair well with almost every mascara. It helps amplify whatever the mascara should do, and I always notice this improves any mascara I pair it with. The only caveat is it goes on white. I wish it went on white.
DERMABLEND Loose Setting Powder – I like this powder. It is translucent and sets nicely into the skin. If you have oily skin and want a powder from this event, I would suggest this one.
Clarisonic Brush Heads – If you have a Clarisonic, getting a single head for 50% off is a great time to buy them. Though I have seen them for less around Black Friday, this is usually the best deal you can find. Purchasing a set will always give you a discount off each brush but even large sets rarely reach 50% off and you have to purchase a lot to get the deal. The Clarisonic is too rough for me to use more than 2-3 times a week, so I do not need to replace my brushes as much as someone who uses it twice a day. There are times when I skip an entire week, because I also own a FOREO, physical exfoliants, and chemical exfoliants. Over exfoliating is not good for most people, but it is especially true for my skin.
It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil – This does have a great ability to darken if you press harder, so it can work for a lot of hair colors. After using it for a while, I noticed in pictures that my brows had a little more red tone than I prefer. I still think it applies nicely and is super easy to work with. When I am in a hurry and know I will have no pictures to document the red tint, I will reach for this. There is something about it that just makes it almost effortless to apply and work through my brows.
Benefit Cosmetics – Spending $50 to get a free brow wax (now worth $21) is something I’ve done many times during the Days of Beauty. I have had my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar a lot. Other than one bad experience where my usual brow specialist must have confused me with someone else and took my brows a little too thin, I have always been happy with the result. It took almost two years to regain the fullness she took away at that appointment so my trips to the brow bar slowed down drastically as I grew them back. At every other visit, they are always almost perfectly shaped thanks to the guidelines they use. Benefit is a cutesy brand, but it has many products I love, especially for brows. Gimme Brow is my favorite Brow Gel, and I say that knowing how much I love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel. There are many other items I love like: Hoola, The Porefessional, Watt’s Up, High Beam, That Gal (but the price per ounce is outrageous), Big Easy, all the tints, and Majorette. All of the boxed blushes are nice, but my shade recommendation would depend on your skin tone and preference. I loathe Dew the Hoola (ugly mustard yellow shade), They’re Real eyeliner (at least partly due to user error), and They’re Real mascara (too wet for my hooded eyes). Everything else I’ve tried falls somewhere in the middle, including the Bad Gal Bang mascara. I love the volume, but even with one coat, it is a little clumpy. Granted, I have not tried everything so feel free to ask me below if you want advice on something specific.
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette – This is the original eyeshadow palette that put Too Faced on the map and for good reason. The eyeshadows blend beautifully and pair really nicely together. It is technically a neutral palette, but two muted pops of color can take a look from day-to-night without carrying a second palette. I think it is classic for a reason and worth grabbing.
Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector – I have dry skin, so this primer does not play well with my skin. If you have oily skin, push this into the skin, do not rub. It will ball up and fall off. Those with dry skin do not need and will probably not enjoy this primer. I cannot speak for its oil reducing properties, because my skin does not really get oily.
First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser – This is a really basic cleanser. That is not necessarily a bad thing and could be wonderful for someone with normal skin. I have and will continue to use samples of this, but there are cleansers better suited for my dry skin.
Cover Fx Custom Enhancer Drops – This is an extremely pigmented highlighter. If you want a wet, over-the-top, metallic look, this will get you there. You can slightly sheer it out for a more subtle look, but getting a natural look with this is hard. I reach for this when I really want to glow.
Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer – I really love this primer for smoothing out my pores. It makes everything I place on top of it look nicer. This is way too thick to place all over my skin and does not play well with my dry skin. Thus, I only apply it to areas where I have much larger pores, around my T Zone.
patchology FlashPatch Rejuvenating Eye Gels – This product is actually in my August foil challenge, yet I still have not tried it yet. I guess that means I have not been concerned with puffy eyes this August. Although I doubt I will remember to come back and edit this once I try them, I will edit in a review into the foil challenge.
Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray – It smells like saliva, but it really elongates my makeup. Whenever I wear this, even heavy sweat usually does not rub all my makeup off. This is the setting spray I reach for on a hot Vegas day when I know I will be out in the heat. If my face looks powdery before I use this, it never does afterward. I also like the nozzle. Other than the scent, which fades quickly, I cannot think of anything bad about this.
Ulta Beauty Collection Moisturizing Body Lotion, Wash, and Fragrance Mists – I would never buy them for full-price because Gold Bond moisturizes better. These all smell lovely and moisturize well enough to justify grabbing them on sale.
Ulta Beauty Collection Hand Soaps – I might have a mini addiction to Ulta hand soaps. Whenever they get discounted to $3, that places them in drugstore range. These are nicer than almost every other drugstore hand soap. Some of the ones that are around or more than $3 are better, but it is hand soap. Paying a lot for something I am just going to rinse away is something I struggle with. Ulta soaps have a nice lather, rinse clean, and smell great.
tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette – I know it is strange that I own multiples of these and am doing a subscriber giveaway to get rid of my duplicate, but I have never tried it. Yes, I buy a lot of makeup that sits around until I can eventually get to this. It will have its testing day.
Julep Eyeshadow 101 Crème to Powder Eyeshadow Stick – My eyelids are really oily and very hooded. Cream eyeshadows do not pair well on my eyes. This one creases badly when I apply nothing on top. It only creases slightly when I add a translucent powder on top. If I add an eyeshadow on top, it does not crease. It does make the eyeshadow look more vibrant but is just an extra step and more expensive on at that. You could use a NYX pencil and pay a lot less for a cream base. Those without overly hooded and oily eyes might be able to wear this crease free, and I am only a little jealous of them.
StriVectin Power Starters Tightening Trio – I love the neck cream in this set. It could be placebo effect but my neck just feels more smooth and moisturized when I use this versus a standard face cream. If it was cheaper, I’d probably purchase it. Until then, I will only consider it when it graces events like this one.
I highly recommend studying the online brochure, because it lists all products (including items added after the catalog printed and items that are available online only). UltaMate members should also get a physical copy in the mail (that includes items for sale in-store and online). It is a good idea to plan your purchases ahead of time so you are ready to strike the moment the deal releases. Ulta runs on Central time so daily steals are available right at 10pm PST. That usually means steals from the previous day disappear right at 10pm PST. If you’re up past 10pm PST, that is the best time to order (unless you’re waiting to see if a Beauty Break or new gift with purchase releases in the morning). While the deals have run a little over, Ulta usually cuts them off right on time. The best deals are usually gone when you wake up in the morning from people who started shopping right as the day switched over so plan strategically. Waiting for the Beauty Break announcement with popular steals will usually backfire.
Ulta says each person can only purchase two of each steal. Placing multiple online orders (if the system prevents you from adding more than 2 of one item in a single order) or picking up in person usually gets around the limit. Although I’ve only ever received two at a time, I’ve missed out on Too Faced Sweethearts Blush and tarte Bronzer on days I saw multiple people buying more than two. Some stores may hold customers to the limit, but my store clearly does not. The most important rule is steals are 24 hours only and while supplies last. If they sell out in 10 minutes, that is it. You will not get a rain check and can only hope the deal you missed will repeat in the next event. Many deals repeat but plenty do not.
