Sephora made some changes to its Beauty Insider Program on August 9th, 2018, and they all serve to improve the rewards program. Phase one of the new changes took effect on the day of the announcement, August, 9, 2018. It plans to roll out more additions to the program in 2019 and fully explain some of the changes as the rest of this year unfolds. As I learn more (throughout this year and possibly place all the 2019 changes here as well), I will continue to update this article. The Weekly Wow made its début on August, 10, 2017, so it would not surprise me to see a new promotion announced next year on August 8, 2019. It seems like second week of August is a good time for Sephora to roll out new promotions. This announcement came along with a new event that starts August 24th for Rouge members and August 30th for VIB and Beauty Insider members. I covered that event (spoiler alert; it’s a brand new sale) in a different article, so I will not devote much time to it here.
There are no new perks for the Beauty Insider Level. That level has plenty of perks, which I already track.
I’ve tracked the 2018 perks for the VIB level. The new perks for this level are:
- Get 1.25 points per dollar spent (was 1 point per dollar).
- Choose 250 points instead of a birthday gift (was not an option before)
- Exclusive full-size products in the Rewards Bazaar. See the latest offerings in my Rewards Bazaar article.
I’ve tracked the 2018 perks for the VIB Rouge level. The new perks for this level are:
- Get 1.5 points per dollar spent (was 1 point per dollar).
- Redeem a $100 Rouge Reward for 2500 points in Rewards Bazaar). This will get released every Tuesday and Thursday.
As with every rewards program there are usually perks that are not advertised. Those get tracked, along with the advertised perks in their respective articles. There is a note on the BIC that we will get 5x more perks. That is vague, so I did not list it above. Once I see specific things I can list that I have not already covered, I will.
What are your thoughts on the new Sephora Beauty Insider Benefits? Let me know below. Sephora does not inform any Beauty Insider of all promotions. It does list a great deal of them on its Beauty Offers page, but I list some it does not on my Sephora Deals Page. Between the ones it lists and the ones I list, you can catch most of them. Subscribe to emails to get targeted offers. If you’re spending over $25 online, there is always a promo code that you can apply. Most major events run on a set schedule, which is why I track them. I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
