Bloomingdale’s has been around since 1860. Since the 1872 launch on the lower east side, it has been a staple in fashion and luxury items. The famous store on third avenue has stood since 1886. Like its parent company, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s is an American tradition. It is the only nation-wide full-line, upscale department store. That is pretty impressive considering how many of the others have also been around for over 100 years.
