Sephora seems to change the name of the Spring sale every year. It has gone by the Beauty Insider Sale, the VIB Sale, Chic Week, A Love Note Sale, the Spring Bonus, Spring’s Hottest Ticket, and more. One thing remains constant. The sale always takes place at the beginning of the Spring, usually April. It only started at the tail end of March once in 2014. Beauty Insiders get 10% off since 2015. VIB and Rouge members always get 15% off. While the number of shopping days had fluctuated in the past, it is steady now. Rouge members get 7 days, VIB members get 6 days, and Beauty Insiders get days. On day one, Rouge members shop alone. Day two opens to VIB members. Beauty Insiders get to shop starting on day three. The last day of shopping is only open to VIB and VIB Rouge members. This means VIB Rouge members get 1 extra day to shop over VIB members and 3 extra days over Beauty Insiders. VIB members get two extra days to shop over Beauty Insiders. Anyone without a Beauty Insider account gets no discount so join if you have not already.
I do not know the sale dates for 2018 yet. The only reason I am writing this article so early is because I’ve been asked about it a few times already, and I’ve seen a lot of readers coming into my site are searching for it. As soon as I hear anything, I will come back with the dates. In the mean time, let’s go over the dates and info from the last few sales. Past events are good indicators for the future. When there is a lot of fluctuation, it makes it a little harder. It is still fun to try to figure it out.
I was not blogging in 2017. The links below belong to the Sephora Community moderator. To view the Rouge link below, you need to log into a Rouge account or an account that was Rouge at one time. VIB (or members who were VIB at one time) and Rouge members can view the VIB link. Beauty Insiders, VIB, and Rouge members can view the BI link. The online community does not demote your status so you can view the boards for the highest Beauty Insider level you were at any given time. You will get demoted for title and shopping benefits if you do not re-qualify each year.

VIB Rouge members have received 7 shopping days for the past two years, VIB members have received 6 shopping days for the past 3 years, and Beauty Insiders have received 4 shopping days for the past 3 years. My guess is we can expect the same run for 2018. The event started on a Tuesday in April 2017, a Thursday in April 2016, a Tuesday in April 2015, a Sunday in March 2014, and a Thursday in April 2013. This leads me to believe a Tuesday or Thursday start in April is most likely.
Sephora has not overlapped the 21 Days of Beauty at Ulta since 2014. Considering Ulta ended the 21 Days of Beauty on the 30th of March in 2013, Sephora might have thought starting its event on the 30th of March 2014 was safe. Ulta has consistently started the 21 Days of Beauty since mid March going back to 2014. This likely means we will not see this Sephora sale in March, because the 21 Days of Beauty do not end until April 7th.
The 18th of April was the latest start we’ve seen for the Spring sale to start at Sephora. If we choose a Tuesday or Thursday between the 7th when the 21 Days of Beauty end and the 18th, which is the latest the sale took place, we are left with: Tuesday, April 10th, Thursday April, 12th, and Tuesday, April 17th. Sephora started its sale on tax day last year, but I think that was a misstep. Thus, I am removing the 17th from the running. Because it started on a Tuesday last year (and tax day no less), I think they will move it back to Thursday this year. That leaves us with Thursday, April 12th.
So, my guess is the event will start on April 12th for VIB Rouge (15% off) members, April 13th for VIB (15% off) members, and April 14th for Beauty Insiders (10%). It should end on April 17th for Beauty Insiders and April 18th for VIB and Rouge members. While I always hope this will be the year Rouge members will get something more than a single extra day to shop the sale, Sephora has watered down the VIB Rouge tier since 2015 when it first cut the birthday bonus and continued into 2016 when Rouge promo codes became rare. What is your guess? I’d love to read your thoughts.
I am not creative enough to even venture a guess on the sale or promo codes they will use this year. Sephora called it A Love Note Sale in 2015 and Love Note Sale in 2016. That used LOVE and NOTE over two years the sale had that title. Assuming they kept the same trend, it could be the Spring Bonus Sale again using BONUS with the promo codes instead of Spring as they did last year. Thus, it would look like this for 2018 if my guesses are all right.
VIB Rouge- 15% off Code ROUGEBONUS from April 12th through April 18th. That would be a total of 7 shopping days.
VIB- 15% off Code VIBBONUS from April 13th through 18th. That would be a total of 6 shopping days.
Beauty Insiders- 10% off code BIBONUS from April 14th through April 17th. That would be a total of 4 shopping days.
There aren’t usually any exclusions to a Sephora Sale other than the typical gift card exclusion. At times, we get in store events to launch these sales, but Sephora seemed to have shifted the events to the launch of the new products for the season in the recent past. Since the spring items launch before the spring sale, I am unsure if an event will get tied to the sale. If there is one, it will probably be an open door event, meaning nothing special. I do enjoy the closed-door events, but I am fine with skipping them as well. ColourPop got excluded from the VIB Sale in November, but I doubt that will happen again. Not only has ColourPop launched at Ulta, but it is no longer available at Sephora. Ulta includes ColourPop in its general coupon so I cannot see an exclusion for the 20% off prestige coupon Ulta should release sometime next month.
Sephora does not inform a single Beauty Insider of all deals. Certain offers are targeted and others have different purchase minimums based on the code.
