There is a free Ulta Beauty Collection 14-Piece Gift With a $19.50 Ulta Beauty Makeup, Brushes, Beauty tools, or Skincare Purchase. I picked this up yesterday and wanted to review it while it is still available. It was set to expire on the 10th but got pushed back to the 17th. This has been available since February 18th. One of the things I like about exploring the Ulta brand is there is almost always a GWP or BOGO offer to sweeten the deal. Admittedly, I usually take advantage of the BOGO deals more than the GWP offers. I am still discovering the makeup products from this brand, but some of the bath and body products are nice. To try more makeup from this line, I think it is better to purchase the items I know I want for full-price and try items I am unsure about in a GWP. Buy 2, Get 2 free on the bath collection (excludes hand soaps) runs 03/11/18 through 03/17/18. For other offers, view the Buy More, Get More article.
The Ulta Beauty Collection gift with purchase includes:
I selected the lilac bag, which is the only one still available online. There was also a pink one in my store.
The items come in off-white tissue and inside a sealed plastic bag labeled Spring GWP 2018.
The 0.09oz Brow Shaping Gel in Clear is worth $6.63. This is 94.7% of the full-size 0.095oz product. It is as close to full-size as it gets. My niece asked if I had any brow gel, but I did not have any new brow gel at my house before receiving this. Most of my makeup is still at my ex’s place in another state. Since I have an open brow gel, I will give this to her. If she lets me know what she thinks, I will edit in her review.
The 0.17oz You Caught My Eye Eyeshadow Mini Palette is not sold at Ulta so I have no clue how much this is worth. It comes in the shades: Bunny Tail, Peony Bouquet, Garden Party, Lilac Blossom, Butterfly Wings, and Honeycomb.
All three of the matte shades are powdery and lack pigment. The shimmer shades are decent. I will edit in pictures and reviews once I wear this.
The full-size 0.3oz Plush Drama Volumizing Mascara retails for $10.50. I have not tried this mascara yet, but I received a full-size of this in a holiday set I purchased. Even if I love it, I have too many mascaras to justify keeping a backup. My son’s teacher is about to receive this.
The 0.16oz You Make Me Blush Mini Palette is not sold at Ulta so I have no clue how much this is worth. It comes in the in shades Cool Bronzer and Rose Blush.
Both shades swatch nicely. They are not overly powdery and have decent pigment. I will edit in pictures and reviews once I try this.
Here is a look at all the powders together. While the matte shadows are weak, the matte bronzer and blush are not.
The Blush Brush retails for $16. This looks different from the blush brush Ulta sells. I was at Ulta yesterday and noticed the 50% off clearance brushes look different. My guess is this is from the older collection. When it was available, it was $16 so I will use that price for valuation. As I have no experience with Ulta Beauty brushes, I cannot offer a review yet. Once I try this, I will edit in my review. It is smaller than most of my full-size brushes, but it is larger than travel size brushes. Ulta full-size brushes just seem to run smaller than other brands.
The Pencil Sharpener retails for $2.50. This is not the sturdiest pencil sharpener I’ve ever seen, but it is one of the cheapest ones I’ve seen. That makes it forgivable.
The 0.34oz Mattifying Face Primer is worth $6.12. My skin is really dry (since moving back to a dry climate) so hydrating primers are not even working well for my skin. It will be a while before I try this (if I do not gift it to someone first).
I did not take separate photos of each item below. Items above were swatched in the order the products appear below.
Ulta lists the 0.11oz Nude Lipstick in Pink Chocolate as full-size. The full-size of this product is actually 0.12oz making this just a little shy. This is worth $7.80. It is a medium bluish pink with a slight shimmer.
The 0.02oz Contour Lip Liner Pencil in Bittersweet is worth $3.50. This is a stiff lipliner, but I still managed to break the tip on the lid whilst removing the plastic wrap. Like most stiff pencils, it skips a little. As it skips, it does bleed a little. It also deposits more product in some places than others. Those issues are easily sorted out with a little finger blending. I like the color, because it is pretty neutral and not too far off from my natural lip color. In the picture below, my lips are lined with this pencil and filled in with the Bite lipstick from the 2018 Sephora Birthday gift. They paired together nicely. Long after the lipstick faded, the lipliner still held strong. This lipliner helps the lipstick stay within the lines and prevents the lipstick from bleeding. Those are the two things I look for most in a lipliner so I think this one is decent.
The 0.02oz Eyeliner Pencil in Blackout is worth $1.60 (assuming it costs the same as the gel pencil). This kohl pencil is not listed on the Ulta site. It is stiff, but I still managed to break the tip on the lid whilst removing the plastic wrap. I will give this a chance, but I am not a fan of stiff eyeliners. They are too hard to apply and too tough on my eyes.
The 0.17oz Liquid Illuminator in Northern Lights is worth $2.83. This pink shimmer is pigmented, but I hope it blends out into something more sheer.
The 0.17oz Tinted Eye Primer in Peach Glow is worth $6.80. This is the prettiest eyeshadow primer I’ve ever seen. Assuming it does not blend away into nothing it would make a great cream eyeshadow.
Ulta lists the 0.11oz Juice Infused Lip Oil in Coconut as full-sized, but I own the full-size of this lip oil. It is 0.15oz, making this deluxe size worth $7. The packaging on the full-size is thicker, more sturdy, and it has a larger doe foot applicator. This lip oil feels and wears like a sticky lip gloss. My lips always feel moisturized even after the product wears off. Thanks to the stickiness, it takes the product a long time to wear off. I am not a huge fan of sticky lip products so I am not keeping this duplicate. A beautiful niece of mine will receive this. As you can see on the far right of the photo above, the oil goes on clear.
This is the first $5 off a $15 Ulta Beauty Brand purchase coupon I’ve seen that is general. That means anyone can use this in store or online after 03/18/18 and as often as they want until it expires on 06/02/18. Just screenshot the photo for in-store purchases or use 676311 code for online purchases.
Ulta lists this GWP with an $88 value. It is impossible for me to estimate the overall value, because there are 3 items I cannot price. Neither of the palettes nor the bag are available for purchase. I am giving away at least 3 of the beauty products and the bag, but I cannot calculate personal value either. Two of the items I’m keeping are items I cannot price. So far, I am liking the item I actually purchased to get this GWP so anything I love from this gift set is just an added bonus. It is definitely a good deal if you want the item you are purchasing, even if you hate most of the products. This gives you a chance to try new things, which is what I like the most. If you happen upon this article after 03/17/18 when the offer expires, another offer is probably available. View my Ulta page for current offers.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
