FabuFinds October 2016: Product Spotlight
Every month, I review my Empty Products. Some products are not worth thinking about once the month is over. Others are wonderful and seem like they’re made for me. Those are FabuFinds, and I generally devote a little more time to discussing them. They are items I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase even at full price if I could not find a good promo code. Items I am loving but cannot finish any time soon make it into Deal Discoveries.
To eventually spotlight all of my FabuFinds, I will never repeat items already mentioned in a past article. That does not mean they lost their magic. It is also possible an item not spotlighted in a past Empties article may get promoted as I try it more and fall deeper in love. Other times, it is because I had a lot of FabuFinds in a previous month and decided to condense the article. There are five products I consider FabuFinds in my October Empties that I have not discussed yet.
We’ve used the Tree Hut Shea Butter Coconut Lime in the past, but it was time to promote it to FabuFind status. Both of my boys, including the one who hates applying body lotion after every shower, love this body butter. This really smells like limes and coconuts, so it is impossible to apply this without singing Put the Lime in The Coconut. I actually think the singing is what makes this one acceptable for him to apply. When he applies this, I can hear him singing from the next room. Limes and coconuts compliment each other surprisingly well, so it smells incredible. The cream is thick but rubs in easily and moisturizes nicely. My younger son requested I get another one, and I will as soon as we use up some of our stockpile.
There are a lot of things I love about the Ahava Mineral Botanic Velvet Cream Wash Hibiscus & Fig, but the number one thing is the scent. It is somewhat floral with a hint of fig (that smells like tobacco but not it is not at all overpowering). When my husband wears his Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, I think of this wash. I love that scent on him. The scents compliment each other beautifully. This also has a great lather and rinses clean, which are things I look for in cleansers. My skin is very dry (so I always moisturize after showering whether I use a moisturizing wash like this or not). This leaves my skin feeling great during the 10 minutes it takes before I apply a body moisturizer. Really drying soaps make my skin feel terrible instantly, so I can feel a difference. People without dry skin could probably use this without a moisturizer.
The Julep Tada Quick Dry Drops help my nails dry a lot faster than when I leave them to dry on their own. They do a lot more than that though, which is why I love this so much. This product has vitamin E and sweet almond oil that hydrate and condition. It is so refreshing. My hands and nails always feel so dry, because I do not apply lotion once I start a manicure until my nails dry. As someone who has very dry skin and hates to skip a single lotion application after a hand washing, my skin and cuticles feel uncomfortable until this step. These drops leave my fingers feeling moisturized enough that I am comfortable waiting for my polish to dry before adding lotion to my fingers. When I do not use this, my hands feel miserable and the wait to apply lotion bothers me. Yes, my hands are that dry!
I previously named the Sparkling Lemon scent from the Ulta Moisture Cleanse Hand Soap a FabuFind. That is still a great one, but I prefer the Pink Grapefruit scent. It raised the bar, so any other scent will have a hard time beating this. I’m up to the task of trying to find a scent I love more than this though, because I love exploring new scents on products I enjoy. This one is refreshing and smells like a subtle, sweet grapefruit. This leaves my skin feeling extremely clean, and I love the lather. There were two times while using this where I did not immediately moisturize, and I could tolerate it. Most washes make me want to climb the wall when I cannot moisturize upon drying. My hands are extremely dry, but I still prefer formulas that cleanse more than moisturize. I can always moisturize separately, but I like my hands really clean. This gives me a great cleanse and moisture, so I do not have to choose. Of course, I will still add moisture 99.9% of the time.
It was really hard to get my hands on a Reverie Milk Anti-Frizz Leave-In Nourishing Treatment sample, because Sephora would not send it to me when I ordered it. After I picked this up in-store, Sephora sent me this sample on an order I did not ask for it on. That was pretty funny. I have really frizzy hair, but you can hardly tell when I use this. It eliminates more frizz in my hair than any other product I’ve ever tried. As soon as I use up some items in my stash, I will purchase this. My plan is to experiment with this and an oil or another type of leave-in treatment to see if I can actually get sleek hair that I envy with other women. The closest I ever get to sleek hair is when I get it professionally done. If this product gives me that professional look, I will be a life-long customer.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.
