Core Collection September 2016 Deal Discoveries

There are so many products I fall in love with but will take a while to finish. Instead of waiting until I can mention them in a FabuFinds article or waiting to see if they make the Top 10 of the Year, I want to go over items from my Core Collection. These are items I consider great deals (even at full-price, although I will still try to get them with a deal). If I ever finish them, I will probably name them FabuFinds and replace ones that do not already have back-ups. Sometimes, they are items I’ve had for a while and just tried or items I tried in the past but love more upon rediscovery. Occasionally, I purchase items I love that do not fit into an article other than this one. When I try something from a recent acquisition where I wrote an article, I will always edit a mini review into the original article (love, hate, or anything in between) or mention it in an Empties article (if I finish it quickly). A single product review in the original article will not always depict how much I love it compared with other items I tried that month. This lists my Deal Discoveries from September 2016 that I am not even close to finishing.

There were about 10 days in September when I was under the weather. Other than applying makeup for formal wedding, I skipped it. I used as many samples as I could for the wedding, so I did not contaminate any of my products. My makeup routine is already very limited, and I do not wear makeup most days. This month was even more limited, because my possible makeup days went from 30 to 20. Of those 20, I wore makeup around 4-5 times in September. When I am under the weather, I tend to use more skincare and other items than I usually do though. As such, I only discovered one traditional makeup item I fell in love with this month.

Years ago, my husband told me he wanted to try this new product called Poo~Pourri Before You Go Toilet Spray. He showed me the commercial, and I laughed. It looked like a spoof, so I originally thought it was a skit for SNL or a similar show. Back then, it was only available for purchase through an 800 number with exorbitant shipping fees. As much as he wanted to try it, I could not bring myself to purchase it. Many years later, my son told me his favorite Youtuber mentioned this product. Said Youtuber sells a lot of products to my son, including multiple trips to Legoland with stays at the Legoland Hotel. Before this purchase, we had never tried it. It really works. I’d say the success rate is almost 100%, and we think it is worth the price. We will probably experiment with the different scents until we find the one we like best. The original scent has a great lemony fresh aroma.

Give Me More Lip 2016 10

I’ve loved the Fresh® Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment since I first tried it years ago. This sheer rosy-tinted lip balm is one of my favorites. It is perfect for a natural look.

The formula is comfortable, long-lasting, and leaves my lips feeling moisturized after the formula wears off. There is a rosy-sheen, so it adds a beautiful take on the MLBB lip balm.

Samples of the stila HUGE™ Extreme Lash Mascara kept coming my way. I have a huge stash of mascara, so I always have a hard time deciding which one to try next.

This one promises extreme length, so I decided this was the way to go. In September, I used it on its own, but I will see how it pairs with falsies in October. My goal is to learn how to apply falsies this month, so I can wear them more often. So far, I’ve only worn them once in my life, and it took me forever to apply them.

I really like this mascara. It’s the best one I’ve used in a long time. My lashes look longer and more defined. There is no clumping.

Love could develop as I use this more, so I will rate this again before the year is over.

I’ve received samples of Living Proof Overnight Perfector from multiple retailers, but I rarely use a pre-shampoo product in my routine. As someone who already uses a lot of products, I was not looking to add another one. My hair is already very soft (except for when I use rogue products that make it feel like straw). This made my hair even more soft than usual. It did seem to add a little shine, although not as much as it promised. Where this really impresses me is on the second day. My scalp is dry, and my hair produces a lot of oil to compensate. After using this product, I wake up the next day, and my hair is not overly oily. I can actually go out without putting my hair up or using dry shampoo. That is unusual for my hair, and I plan to use every sample I have of this product to see if it keeps working this way. If it does, I could see myself purchasing the full-size, even though I never thought I would. My hair is also very frizzy. This does not do much for the frizz on day one, but it reduces frizz on day two. In other words, this product is a dream for my day two hair. I never skip more than one day of washing, so I look forward to seeing if this hair can give me two days between washing. That would be amazing. An experiment is forthcoming.

bzzagent-clarispray-6

I started using the ClariSpray™ Nasal Allergy Spray (which I received courtesy of BzzAgent) before my sickness set in. It helped clear my allergic congestion, and I was able to get deeper breaths. My Dr. wants me to use an inhaler and recommends allergy medicine, because I already have diminished breathing capacity and severe allergies. Against her wishes, I rarely use either. This seems to help both causes, so I really love it. The best part is this actually cuts through some of the nasal congestion when I am sick. If I used this before falling asleep at night, I did not breathe through my mouth all night. When I’m not sick, I prefer to use this in the morning. It is more efficient for fighting allergies when I take it before I ever leave the house.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.
