Influenster loves selecting me for campaigns that involve hair. I believe it looks at the badges on your account and information in your profile. Because I’ve successfully completed so many hair campaigns, I get selected for more hair campaigns. As much as I love trying new products of all types, I would love to get some skincare or makeup. Fingers crossed I am not relegated to hair. There is a product card that arrives with the product to go over what you’re receiving and at times other items within the campaign that you are not receiving.

I got selected to receive the Suave Professionals® Refresh & Revive Dry Shampoo on 08/08/16. It arrived less than two weeks later. This was not my first time receiving a Suave Dry Shampoo from Influenster. Though I received the other one pre-blog, I did finish that one post blog. My review of that Suave Dry Shampoo made it into an empties post.

Until the product arrives, you will not know the size. I really like receiving full-sized products, like this one, because it gives me a chance to really give the product a proper review. Once selected into a VoxBox, you get plenty of follow-up emails. Some urge you to use the product and start sharing. Others go over how to use the product. This specific product received more emails than most. One email combined how to use the product with urging to share a review on Suave.com. After getting several more emails asking for a review, I decided to submit my review a little earlier than I normally would have. Had I submitted it a little later, I would have given it 3 stars instead of 2.

The directions in an early email were:

1. Shake can before and during use. Spray on lifted sections of dry hair, 8-12 inches from roots, where hair is most oily.

2. Massage through roots to absorb oil evenly.

3. Brush through for hair that is revived and full of body.

Once you’ve tried it out, review your Suave Professionals® Refresh & Revive Dry Shampoo on Suave.com and tell us how the shampoo fits into your daily routine.

Suave Dry Shampoo

These are the standard directions for most dry shampoos, but I had to change the way I used this. When I spray this 8-12 inches from my hair, I found it left a residue that flaked off and looked like dandruff. It also made my hair sticky and stiff. This product definitely builds volume. I have a lot of hair, but it is baby fine. One of the main reasons I like dry shampoo is I need added volume even more if I am skipping a day of regular shampoo. My scalp is dry, so oil produces quickly to overcompensate for the dryness. After less than 24 hours, the natural oil in my hair makes it very flat. The dry shampoo needs to remove the excess oil to build volume.

This definitely removes excess oil, which is the number one thing I look for in dry shampoo. It also smells great. One of the biggest deal breakers to me is dry shampoos smell awful, and so many of them do. My perfect dry shampoo: does not leave a residue (this does), removes oil (this does), builds volume (this does), keeps my hair feeling soft (this does not), and smells great (this does). As it hits 3 of my 5 needs, I should have given this 3 stars. I also found that by spraying it more than 12 inches back can reduce some of the residue and straw like feeling this leaves in my hair. By doing that, it does not remove as much oil or build as much volume as I want though. Until I find a product that gives me all five of the qualities I look for in a dry shampoo, I will keep searching.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.
