TopCashBack is the only Pay-to-Shop Program I use that runs games. I adore games, because they are so much fun. Playing games whilst getting a great deal is perfect for me. The games are not constant, but the last game was less than two months ago and there were plenty of other giveaways along the way. Following TopCashback on social media will help you keep track of the games and clues. This game got off to a rocky start with programming issues, so TopCashback only started advertising it yesterday despite its 08/08/16 start. After finishing the Summer Treats Giveaway by only winning a quarter, I am off to a great start with this Student Treats Giveaway. With a quarter already banked and more time to spare, I have faith I will win something more this time. Here I come to $0.50! A grand prize winner will get $1500 when the contest wraps and everyone else will share $5,ooo from instant wins. AT&T Wireless is the sponsor of this game.
I discovered the game on 08/15/16, which was a week in, and spent hours searching social media trying to find the missing clues. TopCashback usually posts the clues and/or answers on social media, but they did not. After struggling to find the Eastbay clue, I posted it to a forum I take part in and was lucky enough to have someone give me that clue. Then, I woke up yesterday and noticed TopCashback is finally advertising this game with all the answers. Even though the game was on its ninth day yesterday, there are only six retailers posted that I can find. At this point, I am unsure if they took three days off, or if they did not and the retailers from those days can still get discovered.
There is a Student Treats banner at the bottom of every page (unless your browser does not cooperate, which happened with the last game on Safari). Review your prize board and clues from this banner. Make sure you’re logged into your account to activate the game. Thankfully, I can play on Firefox when Safari acts up, but it is working on both browsers this time. Click the banner and open the clue. It will show you pictures from a retailer. Once you figure out which retailer the clue is referring to, visit the retailer’s TopCashBack page (an example of a retailer’s page is above). Catch the hummingbird as it flies by, and you will get an entry into the Mega Prize Draw for $1500 and possibly collect a game piece (sometimes you only get the entry; other times you get the entry and the game piece) toward an instant win. Sharing your progress on Facebook or Twitter gains 5 extra entires each into the drawing. The sharing feature was not working in the early days of the game, but it was fixed.
There are new clues everyday. I’ve collected an apple, a ruler, a paint easel, and a backpack so far. Collecting the apple gave me $0.25! The prize, albeit a small one, makes me happy. I need to collect 2 or 3 more of the others to cash in on those prizes.
If you stumble upon this game late (but while it is still running), you can still catch the hummingbird for all stores you are aware of. All of the stores I am aware of get listed near the bottom, but check the social media accounts for TopCashback for any I am missing.
The Mega Prize for $1500 gets awarded when the game concludes. A winner, selected at random, will receive $1500 in his/her TopCashback account. His/her name will also be listed on the Winner’s Page.
According to the winner’s page, they play a lot of games. I think I am going to like it here. Win, lose, or draw, it is always a lot of fun to play the game. If you have not already joined, they are offering a free 22 pack of 13 gallon Hefty Odor Block Pomegranate Tall Kitchen Drawstring Garbage Bags to anyone who joins through the 22nd.
You can get a bonus entry into the contest for using TopCashback during the promotional period.
Featured Stores I found the daily clue answers I was missing on Facebook. The hummingbird will appear on a featured retailer’s page any day throughout the promotion. There is only one new featured retailer a day. If you get stumped on a clue, view Facebook or Twitter for the answer. Random, surprise birds will appear on retailers that are not featured, but they will not appear for everyone. Do not fret if someone finds a random bird on a page that was not a daily clue, and you are unable to find one there. These random birds will not appear on the Clue Progress Board and are rare, so I would not spend too much time looking for them. Just focus on the featured stores and consider random birds a sweet bonus.
I found random birds at: Target, Macy’s, Amazon, and Walmart throughout the course of the game. If there is a method to determining how and where random birds appear, I have not figured it out yet. My guess is it has more to do with visiting a retailer at the right time, but I have noticed that people have more success with the popular retailers. It could be a bird appears after an (unknown) amount of people visit that page and more people visit popular pages. There is also a chance that Topcashback only assigns the random birds to select pages, which would explain why so many people report success with the same retailers. Of course, there is a chance that a bird can appear on any page (randomly) after a specified number of collective searches. One thing is clear to me, because some people get a lot of random birds without much looking and others come up empty-handed after a lot of searching. The formula for random birds is not tied to a specific user, so you will not get a bird on (for example) your 50th retailer search.

I ended by only winning $0.25 again, but I had a lot of fun playing. After I came to terms with the fact that I was not going to win (because I kept getting entries instead of new game pieces), I just wanted to finish with another backpack. Then, my board would have been ready and waiting on every level. The backpack never came, and nothing else came either. If you fared better or worse, I hope you had as much fun as I did. There is always a shot I could win the grand prize of $1500. Thanks to some random birds and getting all the regular entries, I did end with 47 entires. Good luck!
If you want to play, make sure you sign up. You will almost certainly have fun and you could win some money, too. Even when there is no game, you can use TopCashBack as your Pay-To-Shop program to earn some cash back on your purchases, when it has the highest percentage of all options, of course. I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
