Ulta Free Gift and Gift With Purchase
Free gifts at Ulta (not a gift with purchase but a free gift) are rare, but they do come out occasionally. In May, Ulta randomly mailed 0.03oz Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencils to Platinum members. Ulta randomly mailed Urban Decay Vice samplers to Platinum members in June. Those samplers included 24 0.007oz new shades of Urban Decay Vice Lipstick. Some Platinum members were lucky enough to receive both. Others received one. Unlucky Platinum members, like myself, received neither. The July 2016 catalogs have a coupon inside for a free gift in store. There is no purchase required, but there are not enough for every member.
If you received your catalog, the coupon is on the back of the Benefit Brow ads in between pages 18 and 19. My catalog arrived late, so I called to see if they would give the gift without the actual coupon. The first store said no, so I called a second got a yes. Before I could even get over to a store, my catalog arrived. If yours has not arrived, call your store to see if they will accept the picture above as your coupon. Some will. Others will not. While calling, be sure to check availability. This offer officially started on 07/02/16, so some stores are already out-of-stock. My store only had the colorless item in stock.
The choices are the 0.03oz Benefit Browvo! Conditioning Primer or the 0.03oz Benefit Ka-Brow! Clean-Gel Brow Color with Brush. Both (you pick one or the other just as you would in store) are also available as a gift with a $25 Benefit purchase online, so that is an option for someone who misses these in store. I was having a hard time deciding which one I would pick. On the one hand, I can always use the brow gel. At the same time, I’d never used a brow primer. It would be nice to see if it actually does anything or if it is another gimmicky product that I do not need. Trying gimmicky products is always a lot easier when they’re free. My store removed my chance to make a choice, because they only had the primer left in stock. After I use this tomorrow, I will edit this with pictures and a review.
While the gift really was free, I also had gifts with purchase I wanted to pick up. There was a sale item I really wanted, so I decided to get that and pick up the GWP offers. I love the The Body Shop Body Butters and Coconut is my favorite. Coconut is like a coffee bean to me, I do not like the way it tastes, but I love the way it smells. It is very moisturizing, too, although all the body butters from this brand are moisturizing. These body butters are on sale at Ulta for $14.99. They are actually included in the $3.50 off $15 coupons, so I should have added something to get over $15. That is money down the tubes, so add something and get $3.50 off your purchase with code, 400791.
One of my free items was out-of-stock in store and is also out-of-stock online. It does not expire until tomorrow, so here is the coupon (if your store has this in-stock). The offer is for a Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly with any purchase. My email does not specify a size, but I am positive the 0.6oz on the product page is a typo. That listing is almost 10x the average sample of this product (and I’ve received a lot in the past), which is 0.07oz.
My store did have the 2oz John Masters Organics Citrus & Neroli Detangler GWP. This is still available online as well through 07/16/16 or when supplies run out.
Although I wish I would have thought to add one small thing to use a $3.50 off coupon and gotten in a little faster to redeem the Buxom GWP, I am still happy with this purchase. On that note, GWP offers with no minimum purchase and freebies at Ulta can go very fast. Some of you may remember when they used to email an offer for a free deluxe sample regularly. This ended in 2015 when they switched over to a free gift with no minimum purchase for most offers. All of the free gifts (not the same as a GWP) listed in this article came in the mail (either the gift itself or the coupon in the catalog to pick up the gift in store), so these offers are different from ones emailed in the past. The good news is the offers are much more frequent now that there is a purchase required.
Back when they emailed regular free gift offers, they ran out of stock extremely fast. It got to a point where I never bothered trying, because they would be gone if I went later the same day or early the next day. Since they switched their offers to a gift with any purchase, they do last a little longer. It makes trips to the store worthwhile, and in many cases is also a good opportunity to swatch things for future online purchases (where the freebies are usually better if you’re willing to spend over $50 to avoid the shipping charge). The better ones still run out before the expiration date, so going in even two days before it expires as I did with the Buxom offer will be fruitless. If you’re planning to pick up any of these gifts, good luck. May the odds be ever in your favor.
I will continue to post offers I am aware of, so no worries if you happen upon this post after the offers above expire. If you have questions about any Ulta Coupon, I go over all types. Targeted Offers are exclusive to UltaMate Members, so I do recommend joining. New members get $10 of their first purchase with a referral. Remember to check all Ulta offers before placing an online order, because there are always general or brand specific offers that are not targeted. Deal stacking is not only allowed, it’s encouraged. I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.
