Birchbox Man April 2016

See all Birchbox Man articles.

Birchbox Man gives at least four grooming samples a month $20. The price is double the Woman’s box, because of the added lifestyle item, which usually retails for over $20 by itself. As long as the lifestyle item is something you’d want, you should always get your investment back. You will get an email reminding you to select your lifestyle item. Respond as soon as you can, because the more desirable lifestyle items can go out-of-stock. All grooming samples are chosen based on the answers to your online profile questions. For every review on an item received in your box, you get 10 points, which is equal to $1 in the shop. A five item box, like this one, gets my husband $5 back.

The theme for this month is Fresh Cut. It arrived in the standard boring brown box.

The first thing you notice when you open a box is a card going over the box theme.

The sample choice was between: Cory Vines The Path Long Sleeve Shirt ($35), Candywirez 10 foot Lightning Cable ($25), or an Ultralight bundle with a Vapor Eclipse Water Bottle ($11.99) and Bookman Clip-on Reflectors ($9). There was no featured box this month.

The 0.5oz Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Energizing Moisture Treatment for Men is worth $3.09. It never surprises me how cheap men’s skincare is, but this is incredible. If he loves this, it will be cheap to replace and will last a long time!

The 0.05oz Penhaligon’s No. 33 Cologne is worth $2.18. He was very pleased with this cologne and said he really enjoyed the last one from this brand he received. When it comes to scents, he is very particular. It is promising that he’s liked both of the scents he’s tried so far.

The 1oz Baxter of California Exfoliating Body Bar is worth $2.43. He thinks this is okay, but he will finish it. I do not see him purchasing this.

The Cory Vines The Path Long Sleeve Shirt in Onyx is worth $35. This was his sample choice. He is in love with this shirt and even said it was the best lifestyle item he’s received so far. Since this is his 9th box, I think that is a great compliment to the item.

The 0.067oz Supergoop!® Advanced SPF 37 Anti-Aging Eye Cream is worth $6.03. I love the idea of eye cream with sunscreen, because I never place sunscreen near my eyes, even though it can probably use it. Hopefully, it is hydrating and does not irritate his eyes. Sunscreen almost always irritates mine (which is why I do not get close), but he is not as sensitive.

The box has a $48.73 value. His personal value is also $48.73, because he will try everything in the box. He is extremely happy with this box, so it was very valuable to him. I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.

  1. Oh wow, that sample shirt looks great! (it’s funny to see a FS shirt listed as a sample. But then again, we’d have no use for a DS :D)

  2. They always get a full-size item as their lifestyle choice, but I am glad they list it as a sample. He gets to review it for the 10 points! A sample shirt would probably fit a doll.
