Benefit Brow Bar Service (My free Redemption)
The Benefit Brow Bar specializes in brow mapping to customize your brows to your eye shape. I’ve visited a Benefit Brow Bar at Macy’s and many times at Ulta and have almost always had a great experience. There was one time my brow specialist took my brows too thin. As someone who kept a more natural brow (even through the 90s when thin brows were in), it was disappointing. However, the same specialist always did a good job before that and after that. It was the one time I forgot to remind her I liked them as full as possible. Even thin, they always look perfectly placed because of the brow mapping technique they use.
I like to go a while between appointments, especially since I am still growing them out from the one time she went too thin almost two years ago. I tweeze any obvious out-of-place ones, but I keep them really full (even though mine are somewhat sparse) in between visits. The picture above is what my brows looked like just before the visit. That picture is using Benefit Gimme Brow, which fills in brows with a more natural look.
Every Brow Bar has a similar look. There is usually a lot of pink with white swivel chairs that look straight of the 70s. You definitely know when you’ve hit the Benefit section of a store. This is what the brow bar looks like at my nearby Ulta store. It was my first time having my brows done in this store, and it was also my first time seeing Taylor. The Ulta near my house is new, but I’ve been to two different Ulta stores farther from my house but somewhat equidistant from each other before this.
Brow mapping, which uses brow waxing and tweezing, is a $21 fee at my Ulta. I assume it is around the same price at most Benefit Brow Bars. I did not pay for this service this trip, because I received a free voucher from Ulta during the 21 Days of Beauty for my 03/19/16 purchase. That is an order I hope arrives later today. The steal for that day gave a free Brow Bar service with a $50 Benefit Purchase. Tipping is not included in the voucher. If you’re buying something, you can add a tip to the card. Bring cash if you’re not buying anything to tip directly.
They offer other services there as well, but I have only done the brow mapping. If you have $50 in Benefit products you want to buy and missed this steal the first time around, do not fret. It will repeat on 04/02/16. Those who purchase $50 of Benefit in person have to do the brow service in store that day. People who purchase online will receive a voucher emailed within 72 hours. It is good one week from the purchase, so it will expire on 04/09/16. Book your appointment right after your purchase, but wait at least three days to give your voucher time to arrive. Mine arrived in less than 72 hours, but it took more than 48 hours. There is also a free makeup bag available with a $45 Benefit purchase (if it lasts through the event).
Brow mapping lines the brows up to the eyes in three places: the outer corner, the center of the eye, and the inner corner. The brows start and end at the corners. The arch goes above the center of the eye.
They do have a variety of products and techniques for different brow needs. This was the first appointment where the brow specialist did not push any products or even apply any brow products for me to try before this one.
It may have been because I had a slight reaction to the incredible smelling wax. Taylor mentioned this a newer wax, which explains why it smells better, and why I reacted to it when I have not reacted to past versions.
She offered to use come concealer to cover the rash. While I thought it was a nice offer, I was already not wearing any makeup. Adding makeup to irritated skin did not seem like a good idea, so I passed. I am assuming this is why she did not add any products to my brows. Thankfully, the rash did not last long, so I would go back even if they are still using this wax.
I am happy with the results. My brows still are not where I had them before the mishap a couple of years ago, but there is a lot of improvement. As you can see from the first picture of me to this last one, they really know how to define the brows. The technique is wonderful. This photo is from a couple of days after the service using the same Gimme Brow I am using in the before picture. That sample came in a Birchbox and gives me fuller brows with a natural look I love. if you have not already guessed, this is one of the items I purchased a full-size of to get me over the $50 minimum for this service. Once my sample runs out, I will still have fierce, but natural looking, brows.
I will continue to post offers I am aware of, so no worries if you happen upon this post after the offers above expire. If you have questions about any Ulta Coupon, I go over all types. Targeted Offers are exclusive to UltaMate Members, so I do recommend joining. New members get $10 of their first purchase with a referral. I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.
