Whole Foods Hello Beauty Bag 03/18/16-03/20/16

The latest limited edition Whole Foods Beauty Bag to kick off the launch of Whole Foods Market Beauty Week launched this morning. It will be available in store only until the 20th, unless it sells out sooner. Some stores have already sold out, so contact your store before heading over. The Hello Beauty bag, made by Riji Green, retail for $15. The 2015 press release for the event goes over the reason behind the event, which is to promote Riji Green, a company trying to end human trafficking and expand the ever-growing beauty Department at Whole Foods.

I cannot find a 2016 press release, but I will link one as soon as I do. From the 2015 bag, you can see that the bag reduced by $3, yet gained $20 in value. That is right. It is a better deal. Instead of $18 for $60 in value they offered last year, this bag is $15 for $80 in value. The mascara in the bag retails for more the cost by itself. Not that we all need more mascara. This is a wonderful cause and a great deal, so it really is too good to pass up.

My husband kindly stopped at Whole Foods to grab me a bag on his way to work, so I will be able to start playing with this when he gets home this evening. He did take some pictures and send it over to me, which lets me show you why I think you should head over and pick one up. I really like the accent and interior of the bag.

The Burt’s Bees Lipstick in Sunset Cruise comes in cute packaging. It has cutouts like a beehive.

Burt's Bees Lipstick

This is a cheap plastic lipstick tube, so the cuteness makes up for the lack of quality in the tubing.

Burt's Bees Lipstick 2

The color is a very nice pink, but the lipstick is more sheer than I usually like. It took three passes to build color in this swatch, and it is still fair. I will edit this once I wear the lipstick.

Burt's Bees Lipstick 3

I expected a little more pigment on my lips, because the swatch was quite pink. My lips are a lot more pink than my skin is though. This looked very similar to my natural lip color. If it were not for the way this accentuated my dip patches and highlighted my lip lines, it would barley be noticeable. It is a comfortable formula and feels almost like a balm. While it lasts, it is very moisturizing, but it fades at about the same pace as a balm. This reminds me of a tinted balm masquerading as a lipstick.

There will be other promotions throughout the event. Whole Foods offers 25% of facial care items during select days of the event. My store listed this bag as facial care, so my husband pointed out (when he got home) that the bag was discounted to $11.25 (which means the 25% off started and was improperly labeled on this bag). The dates do not always coincide with the bags, although there is overlap. I am definitely pleased with this deal and can recommend it, so get one!

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.

Deal or No Deal? What Do You Think?
