Birchbox Man March 2016 Box Review

See all Birchbox Man articles.

Birchbox Man gives at least four grooming samples a month $20. The price is double the Woman’s box, because of the added lifestyle item, which usually retails for over $20 by itself. As long as the lifestyle item is something you’d want, you should always get your investment back. You will get an email reminding you to select your lifestyle item. Respond as soon as you can, because the more desirable lifestyle items can go out-of-stock. All grooming samples are chosen based on the answers to your online profile questions. For every review on an item received in your box, you get 10 points, which is equal to $1 in the shop. A five item box, like this one, gets my husband $5 back.

The theme for this month is Stock-in-Trade. It arrived in the standard boring brown box.

The first thing you notice when you open a box is a card going over the box theme.

The sample choice was between: JLAB Audio Custom-Fit Earbuds with mic $20, Quirky Contort Power $24.99, Cotopaxi Dopp Kit (no price listed), or 2 sets of Tommy John Performance Socks Dress $16 & Athletic $12. There was no featured box this month.

The 0.5oz Billy Jealousy Shaved Ice Aftershave Balm is worth $4.17. This is a sample he uses when it is available but has never actually purchased any. Maybe one day, he will find one he likes enough to buy.

The 1oz das boom industries Everyday Shampoo Marrakesh is worth $2.17. Shampoo is something he loves sampling. He has very little hair, but he loves pampering it. I always like when he gets a new shampoo to try. His hair is shiny and gorgeous and there is not a shampoo on the planet that can hide that, so they are all roughly the same with his appearance. Yet, he always buys expensive ones.

The 1oz das boom industries Everyday Conditioner Marrakesh is worth $2.07. This is a wasted sample for him, because he does not generally use conditioner. Although he tries them to give his reviews and may even finish them, he’d never buy any.

The 1oz PLANT Body Wash Wake Up Rosemary and Lemon Grass is worth $2.11. He loved a previous Plant wash sample in a different scent so much that he bought it, so he already has high hopes for this. It leaves his skin moisturized and feeling very clean.

My husband selected the socks. He loved the underwear from this brand and hoped the socks would perform as well. When it comes to undergarments, he usually selects them. After opening his box, he made a point to have me feel the socks. That means he’s pleased so far. Hopefully, they live up to his expectations. This selection gave both Tommy John Performance socks in Dress worth $16 and Athletic worth $12.

The box has a $38.62 value. His personal value is also $38.62, because he will try everything in the box. This is one of the lower values, but he seems happy with all the items. That makes it successful (so far). If you want to subscribe, remember to look at start-up offers and all available offers. When you’re ready to spend your rewards points, remember to add your free two piece sample pack when spending $35 from the Bonus Shop. See other Birchbox Subscription articles. I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (13 and 8) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 13-year-old to apply it.
