There are so many amazing beauty products. Very few of us come close to trying them all. Of all the ones I tried this year, I selected my ten favorites. I limited the list to products I tried for the first time this year, but that does not mean these items were all released in 2015. Sometimes getting the best deal means I discover products after they are no longer the latest and greatest. These are all certainly winners regardless of when they arrived in stores. It was really hard to narrow this list down, because it was a great year of discovery.
#10 Guerlain Météorites Powder For The Face And Décolleté from the 2015 Holiday Collection. I love these way more than I thought I would and find I am reaching for them almost every time I wear makeup. My Guerlain Meteorites compact in Clair (also purchased this year) received a much needed break when these arrived. They’re subtle but beautiful. #9 Bésame Cosmetics Lipstick & Matchbook Set in Red Velvet 1946. I usually steer clear of mid tone reds, but this looks a lot deeper, and a lot more beautiful on. View my Sephora Employee Appreciation Haul to see why I love this so much.
#8 Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal. I was late to discover the magic of Becca. The magical, soft powders are also fragile, which I learned not once, but twice with Ulta. Thankfully, I had better luck with Sephora, and though I loved all the powders I sampled from Becca this year, I think Opal has the edge. #7 Julep It’s Fun to Exfoliate. This was the first time in my life I loved a sponge. Before trying this, I was fine using anything. Now, I want to use this as often as possible. #6 Julep It’s Balm, Plush Pout, Fuchsia Berry. This particular color is very close to the color of #4 but still different enough that I can love both. These feel incredible. While the formula is not as wonderful as the ones higher up on the list, it is close and for a fraction of the price. I love with these and own every shade. Four new shades released in January 2016, and all four are already en route to my house. View my Julep May 2015 Set Sail Ultimate Upgrade to see why I love these so much.
#5 Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Something About Berry. I avoided getting this for a while, because the swatches looked too dark. It is not often you will see a blush make my top 10 list. Of every product I wear, it fades faster than anything else. No primer or setting spray ever seem to help much. When I was thinking of my favorite products this year, this is the only blush that even came to mind as amazing. Then, I saw how many I received this year and realized this had to make the list. In a year where you try blushes from: Guerlain, tarte, Laura Geller, MAC, Julep, Becca, Sephora, Bobbi Brown, Burberry, Estee Lauder, Yves Saint Laurent, theBalm Cosmetics, Cargo, Dior, and more but your mind repeatedly goes to Too Faced, run with it. #4 Tom Ford Lip Color Lips and Boys Francesco. When I read the Lips and Boys collection was releasing again, I got excited. Sadly, Francesco was left out of the re-release. View my SAKS Fifth Avenue Haul to see why I loved him so much.
#3 NARS Audacious Lipstick Janet. I admit I had a really hard time deciding if I liked Francesco (#4) or Janet better. Their formulas are so similar. Both are extremely moisturizing. They both look and feel incredible. At the time I purchased them, they were even the same price (although you get more per ounce with this). The deal shopper in me had to give the edge to the cheaper formula. This color is actually a tad nicer than Francesco, but only a tad. If I were to give Janet a 100% on color, Francesco gets a 99%. #2 Julep Liza. I love all Julep polishes for reasons I discuss repeatedly in any of my Julep subscription articles. This one is not only one of the most beautiful polishes I’ve ever seen, but she was difficult to track down and stayed out of stock most of the year. She took a lot of effort to restore, which taught me a few things about polish (from Internet searches). It was worth it! View my March 2015 Birthstone article to see why I love her so much.
#1 Macadamia Professional Nourishing Moisture Masque. Finding a mask that makes my hair look incredible was the biggest surprise of the year, so I cannot think of a more suiting Number One! View my November FabuFinds to see why I loved this so much.
I know it seems crazy that four of my top 10 items were lipsticks, but it really makes sense when you think about it. Lipsticks are probably my favorite makeup item (even though I use concealer more than anything else). It is nowhere near as much fun as lipstick. What else can drastically change your entire look in less than 30 seconds!
