Birchbox Man gives at least four beauty samples a month $20. The price is double the Woman’s box, because of the added lifestyle item, which usually retails for over $20 by itself. As long as the lifestyle item is something you’d want, you should always get your investment back. You will get an email reminding you to select your lifestyle item. Respond as soon as you can, because the more desirable lifestyle items can go out-of-stock.
All beauty samples are chosen based on the answers to your profile questions. For every review on an item received in your box, you get 10 points, which is equal to $1 in the shop. A five item box, like this one, usually gets my husband $5 back. He can also share his box on Facebook for an extra 10 points. That will usually give him a total of $6 back to redeem toward future purchases.
The theme for this month is Reboot. It arrived in the standard boring brown box.
The first thing you notice when you open a box is the product card. Each card represents a specific month, and this month is all about rebooting.
It directs you to the website for a list of samples.
This list on your dashboard tells you what you received, how much it would cost to purchase the full size, and refers you to the product page if you want more information on it.
The sample choice was between: an Octovo Leather Valet Tray ($60) and a 20oz Miir Classic Water Bottle ($18). There was no featured box this month, so it is slightly disappointing there were only two choices.
My husband selected the $18 20oz Miir Classic Water Bottle. It looks fine, and he is happy about it. The leather valet looks awesome and is worth $60. To each his own though, because he is happy with the bottle. He mentioned it was more practical for him as well and plans on taking it on bike rides, because it can connect to things.
The 0.25oz Ursa Major Fortifying Face Balm is worth $3.60. He really liked the face wash from this brand, so he looks froward to trying this. I always wonder why men’s products or more specifically products not geared toward women are so much cheaper!
The Pankhurst London Moulding Cream does not list a size. It is probably 0.33oz, because it was wider but not as tall as the 0.5oz cleanser. Based on the size of my guess, it is worth $3.91. He already tried this and does not like it. When it comes to hair products, he is very particular.
The 0.5oz PLANT Rice & Clean Gentle Facial Cleanser is worth $3. He did not like it, because he says mixing it himself is weird. I do not mind mixing water with a powder cleanser. Once I try this, I will come back and report on how it went.
The 3.38oz Davines Naturaltech Energizing Shampoo is worth $10.60. I actually received a foil sample of this in a past box, but I have not tried it yet. This brand produces mostly hits, so I will gladly try this if he does not like it.
The box has a $39.11 value. His personal value is also $39.11, because will try everything in the box. Even though he does not like 2 of the items, he tried them, so they count toward his value. While I would have chosen the valet and saw a box with around an $80 value, he is happy with his water bottle. That makes this box a success for him. The water bottle alone does not cover the cost, so I hope he likes the shampoo or face wash. If you want to subscribe, remember to look at start-up offers and all available offers.
