FabuFinds: Product Spotlight June 2015

Every month, I review my empty products. Some products are not worth thinking about once the month is over. Others are so wonderful and seem like they’re made for me. Those are FabuFinds, and I generally like to devote a little more time to discussing them. They are items I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase even at full price if I could not find a good promo code.

To eventually spotlight all of my FabuFinds, I will never repeat items already mentioned in a past article. That does not mean they lost their magic. It is also possible an item not spotlighted in a past Empties article may get promoted as I try it more and fall deeper in love. Other times, it is because I had a lot of FabuFinds in a previous month and had to condense the article. There were four products I consider FabuFinds in my June Empties that I have not discussed yet.

Eucerin has yet to introduce me to a product I do not love. The Eucerin Daily Replenishing Moisturizing Lotion is another winner. It is very moisturizing, and I love the price of this. Thanks to its scent free formula, I can also use this on my boys. Their pediatrician recommended the Original Healing Repair Creme, which I technically prefer to this. I like this for faster applications, because it takes a while to work the creme in. The creme is also a little heavy in summer or when they have no active eczema flare ups, so this is a great lotion to use when I am not using the creme. Although the boys use this more than I do, I happily use it when I want deep moisture and use a perfume scent that would clash with any of my scented lotions.

Secret has been my trusted deodorant brand for over 20 years. Secret Clinical Strength keeps me as dry or smelling as fresh as the Secret Clinical line. It works all day despite how hard my workout is or how hot it is outside. I do still sweat a little, because it cannot work miracles. When I use this compared to others, I sweat less though. Using this also prevents the sweat from stinking at all. At the end of a day, no matter how long or strenuous, I still smell clean. This stuff is the only deodorant I’ve tried in many years capable of working that magic.

I love the Stila Smudge Stick in Lionfish. This is one of my all time favorite eyeliners. The color is an incredible bronze. Once it dries, it sets for the rest of the day on top, so smudge quickly if you do not want a solid line. On the bottom, it will move around a little on a hot day, but it moves less than almost any other liners I’ve tried. While I love all my Smudge Sticks, the color is what makes this a FabuFind. It is a beyond perfect bronze that really works with my brown eyes and blonde hair. It glides well and never dried out on me. One of my Smudge Sticks dried out, but I cannot remember which color. I hate that the price is now $22 for 0.01oz, so I will purchase this from Macy’s, where it is still $20, if I cannot wait for a better deal to come along.

Paula’s Choice RESIST Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum is a rare serum where you can see immediate results, so you do not have to wait four weeks to see it working. Lines look reduced instantaneously causing me to believe the formula is somehow filling them in. I will definitely purchase this once I’ve used up some stock. It pairs extremely well with another instant serum, Genifique. It is a thicker serum than Genifique, so I use this second. Genifique is an activating serum that instantly brightens, and this is a serum that instantly fills in wrinkles to make wrinkles appear like they’re smoothed out.

It has a very slick silicone feel, which makes it wonderful at filling in lines. The price is $40 per ounce, which is on the lower end of the spectrum for serums. As results from the sample directly coincided with use of the product, I have not used it enough to see if it has long-term effects. If it does, that is just an added bonus making the overall decision to purchase this down the road that much easier. I read that the white spots under my eye are probably not milia, but I decided to try a retinol there anyway. Though the white spots did not go away, I think they look a little less obvious after a tiny sample of retinol. I continued with a completely different retinol brand after this and continued to see results. That sells me on the ingredient.
