FabuFinds: Product Spotlight May 2015

Every month, I review my empty products. Some products are not worth thinking about once the month is over. Others are so wonderful and seem like they’re made for me. Those are FabuFinds, and I generally like to devote a little more time to discussing them. They are items I have repurchased and will continue to repurchase even at full price if I could not find a good promo code.

To eventually spotlight all of my FabuFinds, I will never repeat items already mentioned in a past article. That does not mean they lost their magic. It is also possible an item not spotlighted in a past Empties article may get promoted as I try it more and fall deeper in love. Other times, it is because I had a lot of FabuFinds in a previous month and had to condense the article. There were five products I consider FabuFinds in my May Empties that I have not discussed yet.

Carol’s Daughter Ecstasy Frappe Body Lotion is wonderful. Yes, Carol’s Daughter sells body products, and they are worth a serious look. This body lotion is not my favorite moisturizer from the line. That distinction goes to the body butter. What I do love about this body lotion is it costs the same as the body butter but you get double the product. Unlike the body butter which takes a lot of product, this lotion can applied sparingly. When my skin is extremely dry, I opt for the body butter. If I am experiencing moderate dryness, I go with this cheaper per ounce product.

I am in love with the ecstasy scent. It smells so fresh, clean, and lightly fragranced. You have to smell it for yourself, because I think most people will find this pleasing.

The great thing about Carol’s Daughter is the site often puts together kits that combine with discounts. Members get 10% off and free shipping on every order. That alone can add up to great savings. Membership usually has a free. With code JOINFORFREE, you can make a purchase, and get free membership. The free shipping and 10% discount members get would automatically apply to your very first order. Once you’re a member, your member discount will apply to anything you buy. Thus, my suggestion if you have multiple things in mind would be to purchase the cheapest one using the join code. Then, make a second purchase using any active code. You’ll already be a member by then so you will get the discount off your member price and free shipping.

Some of you may already know that I received this Dessange Paris California Blonde Illuminating Shampoo from an Influenster box. Influenster sends all products for free in exchange for honest reviews. You can read about my experience while testing this product if you have not already. This line is exclusive to Target. I loved the shampoo, so I purchased another product from the line to try it out. That one was not as nice, but I do not regret trying it either. It helped that I got a discount using Cartwheel.

The shampoo left my hair soft. There are so many shampoos that leave my fine hair with a straw like feeling, especially after using Wen, which leaves it silky smooth. My hair was more manageable when I used this, and it really reduced the frizz. I will probably continue to explore products from this brand once I’ve used some of the items I’ve purchased recently.

I really love the formula in YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks. The colors are all so lovely that I have a hard time selecting choosing just one when I swatch them. So far, I only own one and tried the three I sampled, but I plan to rectify my short supply in the future. My next acquisition will either be number six or number eight. They’re both lovely. This formula does not accentuate dry patches or lines on my lips, feels incredible on, looks beautiful, and does not move around too much. It is near perfect formula (and would be if is lasted a little longer). All four of the colors I’ve tried were equally impressive, so the quality seems consistent.

I was pleasantly surprised by StriVectin-SD Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles. This retails for $65 in the 1oz size, but Ulta sells the 0.25oz size for $15. That makes this another case of an item getting more expensive per ounce as you purchase a bigger size. Although items getting more expensive per ounce with larger sizes is less common than items getting cheaper per ounce as the size gets larger, it happens often enough that you should always make sure you are purchasing the size with the cheapest price per ounce.

A little cream goes a long way, because it is thinner than most eye creams I’ve tried. That makes it easier to blend into the eyes. Despite the thin formula, it moisturized well enough. From when I started this to when I finished it, I really felt like my wrinkles looked reduced.

Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar Hand Cream has an amazing scent. It is a really hydrating hand cream even though it is only moderately thick. The formula is only slightly different from the body butters, which are cheaper per ounce. Since the body butters work well on my hands, I use them there to save a bit of money. When I want to splurge a bit, these hand creams are worth it. Buying them on sale or with a promo helps a lot.

I'm Kimberly. Shopping is always more fun when I've found the best deal available, so I am always on the hunt. My father instilled that in me, and I love that I carry a piece of him. Sometimes, my husband and sons (12 and 7) let me shop for them, too. They do not use as many beauty products as I do. We can all benefit from nice products, even though their routine ends with moisturizer. That is when I can convince my 12-year-old to apply it.

Deal or No Deal? What Do You Think?
